About this property

Cohen Cabin - Restored Forest Service Retreat

Cohen Cabin Cove is situated upon the traditional lands of the Tlingit people. We acknowledge that, since time immemorial, Alaska Native people have been and continue to be stewards of this land and integral to the well-being of the community. We are grateful to be a part of this community. We honor the culture, traditions, language, and resilience of the Tlingit people. Gunalchéesh!

A picturesque setting nestled among majestic Sitka Spruce trees. Cohen Cabin is located out the road (Glacier Highway) down a rural road. Amalga Harbor and boat launch, Herbert Glacier Trail and St. Terese's Shrine are just a few minutes by car. You can walk to to several trail heads from the property for beautiful scenic hikes. Located on North Tee Harbor launching kayaks from the property is ideal.

The main space has an electric fire place, couch (with full size pull out that sleeps extra guests) a 50 inch flat screen TV with Blue Ray DVD player, board games, books, and movies are provided for your entertainment. The kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, oven, electric range, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig, toaster and is equipped with all the cooking utensils you may need. The dining table seats up to 4.

Guests have full access to the entire 625 sq ft cabin and large yard. Outdoors a covered front porch with Adirondack chairs invite you to sit back and enjoy your waterfront view. A fire pit ring located on the property is the perfect place for roasting marshmallows and enjoying the great outdoors. Other amenities include a fully outfitted kitchen for all your cooking needs and washer and dryer located in your cabin. There is a recreational kayak available for day use that can be launched from the property, during high tide. It can still be launched during a low tide but the portage to the water is much further, as we have an average 13 foot tidal range.

Cohen Cabin was originally a Forest Service Cabin that was relocated by barge to North Tee Harbor. You can see this cabin on Season 2 of Buying Alaska! This home is located out the road so a rental car is highly recommended.
