The Home
This cozy three-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage blends rustic charm with modern convenience.
Sleeping Quarters: Typically designed to accommodate families or small groups, the three bedrooms often feature flexible layouts such as a primary king or queen suite with additional rooms for twins or bunks.
Living Space: An open-concept living and dining area maximizes the natural light and water views, often anchored by a warm wood stove or gas fireplace for cool Maine evenings.
Amenities: Many homes in this area include fully equipped kitchens with stainless appliances, screened-in porches for bug-free coffee at sunrise, and outdoor fire pits for evening storytelling.

The true highlight is your private frontage on the Songo River, a peaceful waterway teeming with wildlife like blue herons, bald eagles, and loons.
Private Dock: Most properties feature a private dock, ideal for sunbathing or jumping into the river's deep, pristine waters.
Boater's Paradise: From your dock, you can navigate over 40 miles of interconnected waterways. Paddle or motor through the historic Songo Locks—the only operational hand-powered lock in the state—to reach the sandy bars of Sebago Lake or the bustling Naples Causeway on Long Lake.
Adventure Awaits: Complimentary kayaks or canoes are frequently provided, allowing you to explore the winding riverbanks at a slower pace.

The house wasn’t the cleanest. There were stains on the toilet seat and hair on the bathroom floor making us question whether it was cleaned or not. The pots and pans in the kitchen also needed to be cleaned before use. The rest of the house was neat and tidy. The bathroom door slides and leaves spaces which can be awkward depending on who you are sharing the house with. Two of the bedrooms have a window between them without a full shade and one has a door made up of a bunch of windows. We were able to hang a blanket and put pillows in the window for privacy. There is also no sink in the bathroom. The kitchen sink is located right outside the bathroom so you needed to use that to wash your hands after, brush your teeth, wash your face, etc. the best part of the house was the beautiful back deck and direct access to the river. Kayaks and inflatables were available to use but we brought our own paddleboards. The neighbors were very friendly and shared info about where to go in the river and where to look for eagles and wild blueberries. Olivia responded to messages right away and apologized about the state of the bathroom.

We have been renting in Maine for over twenty five years and this rental experience was so bad we had to leave the next day forfeiting our week vacation. The listing was not accurate for the accommodation: No dining table & chairs or dishwasher as listed (only a picnic table outside).Lack of sanitation: there is no sink in the bathroom to wash your hands after using the toilet or to brush your teeth at. The linen service had not been completed upon arrival which meant we did not have enough towels (only 2 for 5 adults) and wash cloths (only 3) to shower and was told they would be there the next day. There were no pillow cases on the pillows of three of the beds and the twin beds did not have top sheets. The oven racks were filthy with food stuck on them and the grill was not cleaned. Lack of privacy issues: the sliding door on the bathroom left large gaps on both sides where you could still see in when the toilet or shower was being used. There was no curtain/shade on the king bedroom glass paned door to the living room.Lack of comfortable air control: the air conditioner was not sufficient to cool the space and there were no screens in the king bedroom to open the atrium doors.
