The space includes a full bed, two twin beds in the loft (accessible by ladder only), and a sofa bed in a private sitting room. Guests share a bathroom equipped with a bidet and hair dryer.

Outside, enjoy a patio with a raised gas fire pit and gas grill. The side yard features a swing set (sized for older children and teens) and a trampoline.

The property includes its own forest walking paths and connects to additional unposted woodland with multiple trails to explore.

Why they chose this property

I love this spot, as you can enjoy a walk in the woods just outside the door, but are less than 10 minutes to downtown DuBois, with all it has to offer (which is a lot!). Even closer is the Penn Highlands Hospital, which is only 6 minutes away.

What makes this property unique

This home was built using small cottage plans by original tiny house designer Jay Shafer. It offers a welcoming introduction to “tiny living”, but with just enough extra space to comfortably accommodate a family or small gatherings of friends, even during the colder months.

My family of five lived here comfortably for many years, and we regularly hosted family dinners for up to 12 people year-round. While those gatherings were cozy, they were always comfortable and enjoyable.

If you are considering building a smaller home, staying here may help you decide if a small cottage home is a good fit for you and your family. I am always happy to be able to provide this unique experience to others.
