About this property
Charming historical home with gated entrance & gas grill - walk around downtown
Summary:
Ivy Manor
The Space:
Come inside and stay awhile! This friendly, historical home is ready to welcome guests in comfort from the moment they walk in through the screened-in porch. All told, there are six bedrooms (each with a private bath), perfect for accommodating book club getaways, extended family reunions, and get-togethers with old friends. Plus, you'll have all the serving and stemware pieces you need for everyone to enjoy their favorite wines, cocktails, and appetizers. The living room features an inviting gas fireplace, 65" TV, surround sound system, and a workspace, just in case someone has some remote work (or schooling) that needs to be completed before exploring the Saugatuck area. Two staircases (one in the front and one from the kitchen) lead upstairs, where each bedroom resides in an inn-style layout. Right off the stairs, the first bedroom features a queen-size bed, an en suite bathroom with a standalone shower, a light-up mirror, and a private entrance to the balcony set on the ivy side of the home. Right next door, the second bedroom features a double bed, en suite bathroom, and private balcony entrance of its own. Down the hall, the third bedroom features an en suite bathroom, large windows, and a queen bed decorated with a chic grey color scheme. A door separates the final three bedrooms from the rest of the upstairs for extra privacy. Bedroom number four is first and boasts two twin beds that can convert to a split-king bed and an en suite bathroom with a standalone shower. Next door, bedroom number five features an en suite bath and shower/tub combo, a queen-size bed, and a bonus sitting/work area. The final bedroom features an en suite bathroom and an impressive split-king that can convert to two twin-size beds. Six ceiling fans help to keep the entire home cool and comfortable no matter what the season. Guests can gather outside and enjoy some delicious meals from the private gas grill. This home's relaxing yet refined design will enchant you while it houses every member of your group in comfort. What's nearby: Set right in the heart of Saugatuck (and close to the banks of the Kalamazoo River), this home is perfect for people looking to be at the heart of a lakeside town. Wicks Park is right across the street as is the historical Saugatuck Chain Ferry, allowing for even greater freedom to explore than the average city home. A second park equipped with playground equipment is located behind the home and is accessed through your own private gated entrance. Oval Beach (and the lovely waves of Lake Michigan) is just four miles away by car - it's less than a mile if you decide to take the ferry and walk or bike the rest of the way! But guests may have the most fun wandering around downtown Saugatuck taking in the eclectic shops. Don't forget to try the fish tacos at Phil's Bar & Grille! Want more options? No problem: there are dozens of restaurants, bars, stores, boutiques, and spas within a short four-block walking distance. Things to know: Free WiFi and cable Full kitchen. We loved the location of the house! Walkable to just about everything. Also the fact that every bedroom had its own bathroom was amazing. Highly recommend this lovely and charming rental!
The house is gorgeous and perfect for a big group. Could not be more centrally located! Super clean and easy check in and check out.

Charming B&B style Home in center of town
Location is great with 5 parking spots.
Rooms appear recently refreshed and clean.
Each bedroom has a bathroom. Great for large families or groups. Every bedroom mattress is different, however.

Great location in downtown Saugatuck walking distance to everything
Absolutely amazing property and walking distance to everything. Right in the heart of Saugatuck. House is super clean and well stocked. Only issue is no bathroom on first floor (so everyone had to use their room bathroom) and no central air, only window unit a/c in bedrooms. Overall, amazing and we’ll be back!

Beautiful home in the heart of Saugatuck
This home is right amongst all the shopping, restaurants, and activities! Cars were not needed for most of our chosen activities. Every family member had the comfort of their own room and bathroom, allowing for comfortable rest. Rooms were beautifully appointed. One shower is very tight, but the perk of everyone having space outweighed that. Living area is large enough for family meals, lounging, gaming, puzzling, etc. Owner/host was welcoming and helpful.
This is a 5 star property if it had AC downstairs.
We loved loved loved this fabulous property. The house was outfitted perfectly for a big group. All bedrooms were beautifully outfitted and en suite. Each bedroom had a window ac unit which really helped since the downstairs has no ac.
The screened in porch is right across the sidewalk from a lovely park for all ages to enjoy. Close to basketball courts for kids, too.
The location is fabulous and close to everything.
The kitchen is perfectly appointed and the home is decorated beautifully. There is plenty of parking.
This house could not be in a better location with great, safe parking - never used our cars during the stay. We could walk to everything. The house was perfect in so many ways - bedroom/bath for each of us, comfortable living space and well stocked kitchen. We really lacked for nothing.
Only a few things that would put it beyond perfection...instructions on how to use the fireplace, updating the dining room to match the rest of the beautifully decorated home and a real Keurig machine. But these things did not take away from our stay.
We are already planning our return!
Lots of green growth on the exterior canopy, door and window frames. Could use some A/C on the first floor. Instructions for the tv remotes would help. A/C units in some bedrooms were a bit weak.
Great location. Walking distance to everything. Bedroom situation was great too especially since we had little kids. Air conditioning was the only issue we had. No AC Downstairs and it was rather hot and humid while we were there. Window AC units upstairs were a little weak. That’s our only complaint. Great house otherwise!

Comfortable Oasis
We were a party of 8, 5 adults and 3 children. Everyone was happy in this beautiful place. It was clean. All the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well organized and equipped. We always bring our own frying pan, because you never know, but the ones there were ok. I brought my own pasta pot, because you never know. Glad I did. The knives were sharp. There was a ton of storage space in the kitchen. We did cook most meals in. This house is right in the middle of a very busy shopping and restaurant area. Inside the house all was quiet and restful. We were amazed. The house has a very welcoming vibe. It has a lot of history and all the modern amenities. The front porch and the swing were a favorite area for the children as well as a great place to leave soccer balls and beach stuff. I would love to stay here again.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
Pros: Exceptional location near ferry and restaurants, good size house with spacious bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms, comfortable mattress and pillowsCons: The floor and carpet were dirty. Socks were brown within 10 min of being there. Amenities especially kitchen ware were antique-worthy. One of the toilets did not work. The window shades did not all work. No washing machine. No soap for dishwasher - bring your own. Stains on bedding. Overall dated. Vacasa: 3 of 4 parties that were supposed to join the vacation had legitimate medical problems - one persons kid got severe allergy with face swelling, one person had nonstop vomiting, one person dislocated and broke their elbow. They would not cancel or partially refund the reservation.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the home’s exceptional location, spacious layout, and comfortable mattresses and pillows. Regarding cleanliness, the floors and carpets did not appear dirty during our inspection, and the floors are cleaned after every stay. That said, we will suggest to the homeowner that the carpets be professionally cleaned to further improve the guest experience. The home has six toilets. During our check, one toilet was not flushing because the water supply was turned off; once turned back on, it functioned properly. All window shades were also tested and found to be in working order at the time of inspection. As for the reservation cancellation, the booking was made under a firm cancellation policy. While we understand the circumstances were unfortunate, we were unable to offer a cancellation or partial refund in accordance with that policy. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to evaluate and improve the property for future guests.
The house was well-appointed and spotlessly clean with many interesting features. Each couple or single person had a separate room with bathroom and clean linens and towels. All bedrooms and bathrooms were upstairs, so they would not be easily accessible to anyone who has difficulty walking/climbing.
Each bedroom had an air conditioner and ceiling fan, but there was no AC downstairs in the main living area. For this reason and that the gas grill is listed as "private" by the management company, I removed one star from the Accuracy category. Our group stayed during the past weekend in mid-September, so the weather was cooler than expected during a heat wave. There were fans in the living room and screened porch as well as large windows to inhale cool breezes. Overall, we were delighted with our experience and would not hesitate to recommend the house for location, cleanliness, and comfort.
