Penthouse views in Campo Dei Fiore

We had a wonderful stay in the perfectly located apartment in the center of things in Rome! Very quiet inside with great windows and shutters to help keep out the very hot July temperatures. Comfortable beds, a great terrace rounded things out for our week long stay. Will stay again!

Lovely secure property in Campo di Fiore

Centrally located with a beautiful view. It had all the comforts I expected from the description, simple, not luxurious but very comfortable. And the terrace view, it was outstanding. St. Peters from the terrace....a definite wow factor. And don't worry about restaurants, air conditioning and sounds from Campo di Fiore. However there was a very important omission from the description that the property manager was totally aware. Other sounds than the fun at the Piazza. Demolition and I assume construction with power tools on the apartment above us. At 8 AM we were awoken with very loud power cutting tools (reciprocating saw) and abrasives grinding away. This went from Monday morning through Wednesday morning. It may have continued on Thursday but we left early on a tour and left before their 8 AM start time. We paid promptly, and even was required to pay an additional deposit while checking into the property. We were never alerted by the Property Manager or Owner of the very loud and definitely awakening sounds we endured, which thoroughly disrupted and ruined our stay. With this in mind, I feel that we should have been alerted of this inconvenience and had the choice to cancel or reschedule our well planned stay. In other words we were stuck by lies through omission. I feel I have the right to have known this before we even left for Europe, and at the very least, before our arrival 10 days later. We scheduled the property rental in February and again, was never told of this. I have rented over 25 properties in my years in Europe. Never have I had to tolerate noise to wake to due to workmen. I would "NEVER" rent a property in this state. Again, the property manager was totally aware of this and never mentioned it until he sent a text confirming his knowledge of this situation 3 days or so into our stay after all the electric grinding and cutting wake up calls. I am not sure of other's feelings, but after paying the required rent, don't you feel you have the right to know and not be deceived.? I feel I was totally deceived and I thought HomeAway would never endorse such actions....but it happened and I feel I was taken advantage. I had the right to know!

A Month in Rome

We walked in the apartment and immediately felt ‘at home’. The living room was inviting and the kitchen serviceable, but since there were so many good little restaurants within walking distance we didn’t do a whole lot of cooking, even though there’s a butcher, fish store, specialty grocery store and all the fresh produce you could desire, a stone’s throw away! Back in New York this morning we missed the bright blue sky visible first thing upon waking up out the bed room window and hearing the bells chime from all directions. The bells were about the only sound we were aware of, and despite the proximity of the Campo dei Fiori, the apartment was very quiet. And of course there’s the terrace, which even in March was lovely. Another good feature was that the owner’s agent was available instantaneously and at all hours to offer assistance if requested. All in all, we spent a lovely month and hope to return sometime.

Charming apartment with a beautiful terrace.

Our family of four loved this spot. It was perfect for the four of us. Close to all that old Rome has to offer. We didn’t get in a car all week as we were able to walk everywhere. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Comfortable apartment in great location

Our family of four stayed a week here in July and had a wonderful time. Although the apartment was comfortable, what we enjoyed most was the great location—within walking distance to great food, stores, & attractions. The main piazza just downstairs from the apartment is bustling with nightlife in the evening, and has a farmers market in the morning with stands selling fruits, vegetables, smoothies, flowers, and trinkets. A great salami & cheese shop around the corner, an amazing sandwich stand off the main piazza, and wonderful restaurants surround the apartment (the best restaurants were the ones that didn’t have someone standing out front trying to convince you to come eat at their restaurant). Matteo was slow to respond to emails, but I believe it’s because this is a private rental and he is busy traveling abroad and working—however, he does eventually respond and once he got us in touch with Tomasso who would help us with check in and check out process—Tomasso was wonderful, very responsive, easy going and helpful. Although the apartment was on the pricey side for us, it was the perfect location for exploring Rome, within walking distance to food and shopping, and has a lovely roof top patio. We had a lovely stay. Thank you Tomasso and Matteo!

dale g., Where do you live?

It doesn't get any better than this.

As all the other reviewers have said, this really is a wonderful apartment. It is spacious with plenty of light, has a fully equipped kitchen and the terrace is fantastic. Add the fact that it is just off the Campo di Fiori and therefore in easy walking distance to all the major sights in Rome and you have the perfect package. And, Matteo and Tommaso are the perfect hosts.

Third year in a row!

This is the third yer in a row that our family (4) spends a whole month in Attico Campo the Fiori. We live in the US, but me and my wife work in Rome for a month every year, and find this apartment perfect for our needs. It is centrally located so all the major attractions in Rome are in walking distance. The apt has two bedrooms, not huge but spacious enough, with nice A/C so you can sleep well during the hot Roman nights. Nice living room, fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher and all), and two bathrooms, all very well maintained. But the true jewel is the terrace. It is spacious, with beautifully manicured plants and flowers, plenty of chairs and tables and breathtaking views over Roman rooftops, and three churches, including Saint Peter. Our family and friends spent many many evenings just sitting there, enjoying an aperitivo kissed by the gentle Roman breeze, under the golden sunsets.. thanks for the memories, we plan to be back next year!

Lovely stay

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely month-long stay in this bright, spacious apartment, where we immediately felt at home. The apartment has a comfortably lived-in feel, filled with artwork, books, and character. It was very clean, and it was great to have the housekeeping service to keep everything pristine, not to mention having our laundry done for us. The large terrace makes this apartment particularly special, and we never tired of the spectacular views of three church domes and surrounding rooftop gardens or the gorgeous golden evening light. We ate most of our meals at home, and I appreciated the well-equipped kitchen with its full array of cookware and abundance of dishes and utensils (no microwave, but a 4-burner stove and an oven, which I much prefer). There was plenty of space for the two of us, but even when our daughter and her wife visited us for a week, the apartment never felt crowded; and it was especially nice to have the two bathrooms. The central location is very convenient to the major sights, shopping, and restaurants, while being on a set-back upper floor muffles any street noise and the night-time outdoor life in Campo de' Fiori; in fact, the apartment is amazingly quiet and peaceful. This was our third extended-stay rental in the Centro Storico in the last seven years and was by far the nicest in terms of space, light, comfort, quiet, views, and charm. Finally, a note to anyone with a disability who might be considering this apartment: the elevator worked flawlessly but it is small; my wheelchair needed to be folded in order to fit.

Wonderful family vacation

We just returned from a week in Rome, and we were very happy in this lovely apartment. The location is perfect, just half a block from the main Campo Di Fiore market, easy walk to many sights, restaurants, shopping. We loved having our coffee on the terrace every morning (first time using a stovetop moka pot - we are hooked!) peaceful, quiet and fantastic views. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 children. Added bonus of wifi and laundry service. It is not fancy, but is definitely clean, comfortable and homey. Everything worked out perfectly, from being met with the keys immediately upon arrival, to a fast response when we had trouble with the shower drain. We would definitely recommend, and we would definitely stay here again. Thanks Matteo and Tomasso!

Disappointing

Our family of three adults stayed here April 1-8 , 2016. I am giving it two stars because of the location which was good, and the terrace was a plus. However the apartment is very dated, and sadly shabby. We were very disappointed . Would not recommend .

Amazing apartment in the heart of Rome

Large 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with large balcony. Views of St Peters and Centro Storico. Right around the corner from the famous Campo dei Fiori and 2 doors down from one of the best wine bars in the city (Angelo Divino). Very clean and spacious, kitchen dishwasher, washer/dryer. Would definitely come back.

Perfect

Spent a whole month in the apt. and loved every day of it. The terrace is lovely, with great views, quiet and charming, perfect for having friends over. Location is also perfect with all the conveniences of the center of Rome, but quiet enough so neither us nor our kids had trouble sleeping. Not large but very comfortable for 4 people, great to have the two baths, the elevator, working A/C and maid services. Will be back!

Great apartment in perfect location

We are a family of 4, and stayed here for 6 nights. This was our first time in Rome. The apartment was great - spacious and tastefully furnished, and the terrace was the best. It was clean and comfortable. Located very close to Campo Dei Fiori meant that we could enjoy the fresh fruit/vegetable market (daily), and countless restaurants and boutique shops. We wondered all over Rome, but at the end of the day it was always nicer to be back in this part of Rome.

Perfect in Rome

This charming apartment makes a perfect place from which to explore the city of Rome. It is well maintained and exceptionally well provided with everything you need on a short visit. We loved being able to walk down into Campo di Fiori and find everything we needed in the little shops and bars. The local restaurants are great and there is easy access to the buses and Metro stations. Would definitely return again.

Amazing!

The Campo dei Fiori apartment is a jewel in the heart of Rome, with it's breathtaking terrace and view. It's the perfect place to be based to tour Rome, with its central location that makes it a walking distance from the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo and much more! Having the Campo dei Fiori piazza with the historical market literally ten steps away was a treat, and in a very short time we had become regulars at the Forno which possibly has the best pizza slices in the world. I would advise anyone to stay in this beautiful location managed skillfully by the owner Matteo and his wife Benedetta who are attentive and cheerful hosts.

Great location, great terrace

A truly delightful spot to enjoy the best of Rome. Time on the delightful terrace begins and ends each day. Staying near Campo de Fiori means a quick trip for fruits, bread, and breakfast supplies. We love walking all over the city with this as our base. It feels like home...only better!

Perfect!

This apartment is nothing but wonderful! Halfway between St. Peter's and the Forum, half a block from the Campo market, and the perfect terrace so you can get away from it all and just sit and look at the rooftops and church domes, watch the birds, and hear the evening bells. The Campo can get rowdy at night, but once the shutters are closed you'd hardly know it was there. 3 of us lived here for 2 weeks, while a 4th friend staying nearby joined us for breakfast and dinner some days. There was plenty of space and ammenities, the kitchen is just right for small meals, and the beds are very comfortable. Matteo and Lex handled all our needs with great care and patience. Thank you both (and Annie) for putting up with my OCD and all my questions!

An ideal stay...

A lovely and clean apartment, in a great location, with responsive owners/managers. Even with construction scaffolding, the terrace made the experience—espresso in the morning, then cheese, a glass of wine and a St. Peter’s in the distance to end the day. We look forward to returning

"In late April 2008 we stayed at the condo at Compo de Fiori. It was the perfect location. Its location and surroundings allowed us to see and feel Rome as it should be. Compo de Fiori was fantastic, with a produce and flower market every morning except for Sunday and Monday, and ringed with cafes, pubs and restaurants. We were able to buy produce, meats and pasta and took advantage of the apartment to make and eat a few meals. The accommodations were all that you could ask for. The condo was roomy, yet felt very homey. Nicely decorated and large enough for four adults. The best part was the terrace. An absolutely spectacular place to have a bottle of wine, cheese and bread. If you want to stay in a Marriott or Hilton-like hotel, which is a real mistake in Rome, this is not for you. It’s a much better experience. Vic and Karen

In June 2008, we had booked this property and dealt with Matteo for a number of months. Our experience was so fabulous. The house is so functional and clean and at the same time really attractive. The location with a bad house would have been worth the rent. Matteo was engaging, polite, witty, competent and a better source of information than any book or website. We have nothing but good to say about this lovely house and Matteo. My unqualified recommendation is given.

We spent our first 2 weeks in September, 2004 at the apartment during the year with lived in Rome. It was a wonderful place to begin our year in Rome. For a short visit to Rome, it is centrally located. The apartment is comfortable and well stocked for visitors. Make sure you take advantage of the spectacular terrace - prepare a meal, watch the day turn to twilight or just sun yourself outside.

In September 2006, my wif...

In September 2006, my wife and I stayed in this apartment with another couple. We could not have been more pleased with the experience. The location (Campo Di Fiore)is ideal, not too "touristy" but within a short walk or cab ride of everything you'd want to see in Rome and, as well, a few steps from some very good restaurants. There is also a daily market in the nearby square, providing everything you need for an al fresco lunch on the apartment's patio (which has a partial view of St. Peters). The apartment itself is wonderful. It is essentially the penthouse of a five story (elevator) building. It's quiet and very spacious. The bedrooms, both air conditioned, were perfectly fine and the bathrooms, kitchen and living room more than adequate to our needs. A bonus, unadvertised feature of the apartment was Matteo, our young landlord. He was more than gracious and made a number of very helpful suggestions upon our arrival. (The most valuable of these, by the way, was that we purchase a Europa telephone card at a local tobacconist. It enabled us to call the US for pennies a minute from either the apartment's phone or a public phone.) We would rent this property again in a flash. Don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like more detail.
