Host profile image
I created The Shed as the kind of place I always hope to find when I travel — soulful, relaxed, design-forward, and deeply comfortable without trying too hard. I love layered spaces with history, strong coffee, good lighting, vintage finds, cocktails with friends, and mornings that unfold slowly. Hosting feels personal to me; I want guests to feel cared for, inspired, and completely at ease the moment they walk through the door.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood has that rare Aiken balance of quiet ease and convenience. It’s peaceful, leafy, and calm. The Shed is the kind of place where mornings feel slow and evenings feel soft, yet you’re minutes from Bruce’s Field, downtown Aiken, The Willcox, Whiskey Road, great coffee, yoga, groceries, and some of the best parts of town. I love that The Shed feels tucked away while still being close to everything.

What makes this property unique

The Shed isn’t a standard rental filled with generic furniture and rushed design choices. It’s a thoughtfully layered mid-century retreat filled with authentic vintage pieces, original art, soulful textures, and warm lighting. Many of the furnishings and the vintage glassware in the Roar Bar were personally curated from boutique antique shops and hidden gems everywhere from Charlotte to Charleston.

The property’s namesake shed out back was once falling apart — crooked door, broken windows, leaky roof and all — but I couldn’t bear to tear it down. It’s now been reimagined into a cozy gathering spot beside the firepit, perfect for cocktails, conversation, and slow evenings under the lights.
