Nostalgic 1960's beach house in Kill Devil Hills close to beach access.
1960's beach house in Kill Devil Hills that will take you back in time. It is only a three minute walk to the Helga Street beach access, and is located close to dining and shopping. Avalon Fishing pier is less than a mile away. The house features three bedrooms. One with a queen size bed, one with a full-size bed, and one with a twin over full bunk bed. There is a full bathroom with tub and shower inside of the house and an enclosed outside shower and toilet. Two patio spaces outback provide plenty of room to relax and enjoy the ocean air. Inside you will find a large living room with abundant seating options for multiple activities. The house has not been renovated and we are constantly making improvements and updates as time allows. This house has been in our family since 1986, and for those who have been traveling to the Outer Banks from the 80's to the early 2000's, it will remind of you of earlier, simpler, and hopefully, fond memories. For those who are just beginning to make memories in the Outer Banks, I hope the Duck Inn can be a part of that.

About the host
Hosted by Ramsey Dudley
This house has been in our family since it was built in 1960. My parents bought it from family in 1986. I have grown up going to this house and the OBX with family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. It is filled with memories of all of them, as well as the memories of watching my own children grow up going to this house. We want to share that same opportunity with others to have a chance to create their own life long memories with family and friends.
What makes this property unique
It is an older, but well maintained, house that has had little updating done to it other than routine repairs and select upgrades. This is evident by the mismatched furniture, hodgepodge decorations accumulated over decades, and old school paneling (although just redone in May of 2026). Too our family this is what we remember a beach house being because so many of us grew up going to this house. This is what all of the other houses looked like from this era which gives it charm and a warm, comfortable, and inviting feeling. Our house does not represent the more contemporary, sterile, whites, grays, and blues palette of renovated Outer Banks Homes.
