The Space:
Roadrunner Ridge is a family-owned, Spanish-style modern home tucked among boulders at the end of the road, on five private acres next to more than 1,000 acres of undeveloped protected land. Warm adobe-style walls, polished concrete floors, skylights and large windows frame desert and mountain views in every direction, and solar panels with LG batteries provide backup power. Outside are an in-ground saltwater pool and hot tub, a propane fire pit lounge, a hammock, a yoga area and walking trails. With three ensuite bedrooms and a sofa bed, it suits families and groups of up to eight. Follow the walking trails out at dusk and look back at the house among the rocks.

-Outdoor Amenities-
Start early on the walking trails that wind through the five acres, past boulder formations with the protected land stretching beyond. Back at the house, unroll a mat in the yoga area, then claim a lounger beside the in-ground saltwater pool, with the ridge and the mountains in view. The hammock under the wood-beamed covered patio is made for an afternoon nap.
As the sun drops, fire up the propane BBQ and eat at the outdoor dining table beside the house, or toss a few rounds of cornhole. Then gather in the Adirondack chairs around the propane fire pit, set among the boulders, and finish in the saltwater hot tub as the stars fill the dark sky.
-Living Area-
The open living space flows into the dining area and kitchen, with polished concrete underfoot, skylights overhead and large windows showing views in every direction. Spanish-influenced decor, a guitar on the wall and a leather sofa keep it warm and lived-in, and the TV is ready for movie night. Sliders open straight to the covered patio, and a Koala sofa bed opens into a queen bed for extra sleeping space.
-Kitchen and Dining-
Wood cabinets, stainless appliances and generous counter space make the modern kitchen easy for cooking together, and it is fully equipped, with Joshua Tree Coffee Co. coffee for the first pot. Pull up a stool at the breakfast bar, then gather around the dining table for eight beneath its pendant lights, with the desert framed in the windows. An additional dining space sits on the side of the home, plus outdoor dining by the BBQ.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
The home has three bedrooms with one king and two queen beds. The primary suite pairs the king bed and a jute rug with glass doors facing the backyard, a reading chair and an ensuite bathroom with a double vanity. The two other bedrooms each have a queen bed and a remodeled ensuite bathroom, one with a macrame hanging and a desk, the other with geometric wood art and a tub and shower. One can be set up Jack-and-Jill style for families. All bathrooms are newly renovated. The living room sofa bed opens into a queen.
