Such a cute like place on a small body of water. We enjoyed taking the pedal boat out around the small island. Just far enough out of the city it’s a short drive into TC. although the property is close to the owners home they are extremely nice individuals and would recommend anyone who wants a peaceful experience but not too far away from the city of TC to stay here. Cozy and comfortable accommodations!

Beautiful spot in a quiet and private neighborhood. Appreciated the extra pillows and spotless condition of all guest areas. Bed was extremely comfortable and the rain on the roof combined with the loon calls made my whole night! Char is extremely kind and the cabin has everything needed to have a wonderful stay. Very grateful for the opportunity!

Charlene was very accommodating. She was very open to helping us with a unique pet situation due to a move. We were able to get into our house early so didn’t get the chance to stay at the property. I will definitely stay in the future due to how understanding, kind & accommodating the host was!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The listing was accurate. We loved having access to the kayaks and paddle board. Being able to bring our dog was such an awesome thing! The cabin is VERY close to the main house. That is not clearly shown in the listing and we would’ve preferred a more separate space. The yard and waterfront area is very much a shared space, which we did not anticipate. Charlene was very nice and pleasant, we just would have liked more privacy.

Thank you for the review and constructive feedback. I'm sorry the property did not meet your expectations. I will fine tune the listing documentation to better convey that the cabin is 30 ft away from our home and is separated by shared lawn and the 100' beach area with the kayaks and fire pit has a dock with our pontoon boat tied up. I'm very grateful for the feedback. While it is always great to get top ratings and kudos, it is equally important to hear guest concerns. We enjoyed hosting you. All the best, Char and Dave

This was an incredibly lovely place to stay! Everything was incredibly thoughtful, including a binder that explained exactly where to find whatever you might be looking for. We loved being on the small lake and did make use of one of the kayaks. We loved that our dog was welcome. The full refrigerator was very helpful! It is useful to read the part of the description that noted there were two small buildings connected with stairs. You will need to go outside briefly to go to the restroom or use the kitchen. The bed was extremely comfortable as was the futon. We loved sitting on the front porch, looking at the lake. We would definitely make a point of trying to stay there for a couple of days if/when we are in the area again.

We loved staying here and were sad when we needed to go! Char and Dave were excellent hosts and we felt like we were staying with our favorite aunt and uncle! They treated us like family. The house set up was great, we loved the lake access, meeting Susie Q (cutest dog ever), loved the pontoon ride, and it felt like a true vacation. We recommend doing the peddle boat as we had a blast going out onto the lake. It was a bit challenging at first but we figured it out. We also enjoyed a firepit and Dave to the rescue to get it started when we weren’t so successful. Overall, this was probably the best Vrbo I have stayed in and never wanted to leave. As Char said upon our arrival “it’s your vacation, enjoy it!” And we sure did!

About the host

I enjoy hosting and meeting new people. We love dogs and are lucky to have 2 dogs ourselves. If you have a dog that loves water, the cabin is perfect.

Why they chose this property

Quiet, serene, beautiful. Abundant wildlife. Sandy beach and swim area. Great fishing. Lots of walking and ORV trails. All this and close to Traverse City.

What makes this property unique

Our rental is on an acre and has woods all around. It is secluded and peaceful and is 15 min drive to Traverse City fun. We are east of Traverse City so getting to Elk Rapids, Charlevoix, and Bellaire is easy. If you have an ORV, access to trail network is right outside of neighborhood, no need to tow vehicles from cabin. Our circular driveway makes for easy parking with trailer. For bicycle fans, we are less than 10 minutes from the Vasa trail.
