Thanks for the awesome review. Future guests rely on your honesty. The place is pretty great and for a decent rate. River access w boats provided complimentary to guests for use at their discretion. No crowded kayak rental places or boat rental charges. The hot tub room and huge screened in deck are a great place to chill out, albeit it’s pretty hot outside in the summer months. The firepit and barbecue w full kitchen is perfect for grilling. Check out the pictures. See the hot tub and the soaker bathtub w a view of the bayou. You won’t be disappointed. I love it when my guests love it.
About the host
Hosted by Susan
I’m originally from Detroit Michigan. I moved to Florida in 2000. I started renting houses long term and quickly found I prefer vacation rentals. I love offering guests the opportunity to experience old Florida's nature at its finest, particularly on the rivers. The Weeki Wachee is my favorite peaceful place. I love seeing the reflections on the water during different times of the day, especially sunset, but the trees and clouds offer great reflection & are just as beautiful. Hearing the owls hoot at night is also one of my favorite things. I hoot back and hope they respond to me. Canoeing or kayaking on the river is as good as it gets. Seeing any and all the wildlife is another thing I love. I see manatees all the time right in front of my place and I never tire of seeing them. A special occasion is when dolphins come into the canals fishing. They come right up to my dock as if to say, hello and look at me! I can kayak to Roger’s Park and tie up at the Upper Deck Restaurant enjoy lunch or dinner or just have a drink and then kayak back home. See a manatee along the way. Feel the breeze and see the clear water and reflections all at the same time. I like to look at everyone’s river places and decor. There’s a lot of new places to see but I really like seeing the old places that have been there forever. If you’ve never been on the Weeki Wachee River, it’s time to come and experience it for yourself. You will enjoy it same as I do.
Why they chose this property
I enjoy the quiet of the neighborhood so quiet you can hear the birds, the owls and feel the breeze up on the deck. The bayou has a visiting otter, egrets and other birds as well as deer, pigs, birds of prey in the preserve -all right in my backyard. The home is set up to have everything you need to enjoy your stay.
What makes this property unique
The nature filled property in a quiet neighborhood w restaurants and shopping within 5 miles is great but there is much more. The hot tub nestled next to the bayou is a great place to relax. The large deep soaker bathtub in the bathroom with a window overlooking the bayou is also a great feature. The large screened in Upper Deck porch is a great place to eat a snack or a meal, enjoy morning coffee or a cocktail, read a book - all up in the trees and with a view of the bayou. The home is just a short distant - about 6-8 blocks to the Kayak Shack (right next to the Upper Deck Restaurant and across the street from Roger’s Park) and you can rent kayaks there and get out on the Weeki Wachee River. See the beauty of the river and hopefully a manatee, or two, or three! It’s a unique property w lots to offer to guests. Book it and come see for yourself.
