Northwoods Trails is ideal for those seeking both outdoor adventure and an easy drive to Marquette's restaurants, shops, and amenities. The Thunder Valley equestrian trailhead is 1/2 mile from the house, and can be used for hiking, skiing, and biking. Slightly under 3 miles of equestrian trails will connect adventurers to the Blueberry Ridge trail system, allowing access to its 13 miles of trails with 7 different loops. A 15 minute drive brings guests into the heart of scenic Marquette, where dining, sand beaches, shopping, breweries, and music can all be found.
Not only does the property provide direct trail access, but it also features its own private tent campsite. Located approximately 100 yards behind the house, the wooded campsite is perfect for hosting extra guests who are making a stopover on their own outdoor adventure trip.
Back at the house, guests can unwind on the deck overlooking the wooded property, gardens, and lawns: an inviting spot for gathering, grilling, or relaxing. The spacious yard is surrounded by forest, offering the feel of a truly secluded setting while being just steps away from the house. Be sure to finish the day with the quintessential Northwoods experience: a roaring fire in the fire pit.
Northwoods Trails offers the tranquil wooded setting that's usually only available by camping, but with the comfort of a fully equipped kitchen that makes meal preparation easy. The dining room comfortably seats six, with an additional two at the kitchen island. In the inviting living room, guests can enjoy a large-screen TV, a selection of games and crafts for rainy days, and expansive windows that bring in peaceful views of the surrounding woods. Upstairs, two additional bedrooms (both with queen beds) and an updated full bathroom provide ample space for family and friends.
Accessibility: - One bedroom and one bathroom are on the first floor - One step up required to enter house - Guests must cross small grassy area to enter the house - for most this poses no difficulty, but there is not a paved path, potentially making it less than ideal for those with limited mobility
Driveway & Parking: - Driveway is very steep: it is plowed regularly in winter, but 4WD is strongly recommended from November to April - Due to the steepness of the driveway, there is not adequate space to park a trailer - No more than two cars (and no trailers) can be parked at the top of the driveway near the house. Cars parked at the top of the driveway must stay on mulched area. Any other vehicles will have to park in the cleared space off the lower part of the driveway.
Security: Security camera facing away from house monitors front driveway
Guest Spaces: Guests have access to the entire house, except for the basement which is used for storage. Guests do not have access to the garage/outbuildings.
Additional notes: - The capacity of the house is 6 guests; additional guests are permitted at the campsite behind the house. Please enter the total number of guests who will be at the property, including those camping. Extra guest fee of $4/person/night applies after the first 6 guests, and will be paid to cleaning staff. - Fires are only permitted in the fire pit, no fires are allowed at the campsite due to forest fire risks.
