Casa En Cibola in Santa Fe

Welcome to Casa en Cibola, a remarkable Santa Fe home unlike any other.

Located just minutes from downtown Santa Fe, this spacious residence blends authentic Southwestern architecture, museum-worthy furnishings, and generations of family history into an unforgettable experience. Designed as a dream home by the Ortiz family, Casa en Cibola offers guests the rare opportunity to stay in a residence that reflects both Santa Fe's rich heritage and a lifetime of international travel and diplomacy.
Enjoy multiple living areas, a grand piano, inviting spaces for reading and conversation, a private courtyard with a fountain, and beautifully furnished rooms that create the feeling of staying in a private estate rather than a vacation rental.
Whether you're gathering with family, exploring Santa Fe's renowned arts and cultural scene, or simply seeking a unique retreat, Casa en Cibola offers an experience that is both elegant and deeply connected to New Mexico's history.

The Story Behind Casa en Cibola

"Casa en Cibola" is named after the legendary Seven Cities of Cibola—the mythical cities of gold sought by Spanish explorers in the Southwest.
The home was created by Frank V. Ortiz, a 14th-generation Santa Fean who, after serving in World War II, pursued a distinguished career as a United States diplomat. During more than three decades of diplomatic service, he and his wife, Maria Dolores Ortiz Duke, lived throughout East Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Many of the furnishings, artwork, and decorative pieces found throughout the home were collected during their years abroad and carefully chosen for the dream home they eventually built in Santa Fe. Guests will discover unique artifacts, treasured family pieces, and personal touches throughout the property, including a bust of Ambassador Frank Ortiz in the library and a portrait of his mother, Margarita Ortiz Delgado.

Today. Casa en Cibola remains a celebration of family, travel, history, and Santa Fe heritage.
