Liz was great and we have a shared love of German Shepherds. My husband and I honeymooned in Lake Lure 17 years ago and this was the perfect weekend getaway to celebrate 17 years married! The cabin had everything we needed including towels for our fur babies. It was clear a lot of thought went into accommodating renters with pets and we loved the view as well as the privacy I can promise we won’t wait another 12 years to get away to Lake Lure again and would rent from Liz and Kyle again in a heartbeat!
Great place to stay. Wife loved it and my favorite part was not seeing another car even pass by until last day we were there. Very quiet and most appreciated. The couple times we had a question, found host most accomodating.
Beautiful cabin! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only constructive feedback is that the host never resonded to two consecutive inquries via VRBO messaging, there was no firepit or directions to wherever the firepit was in direction guide. Don't advertise something we can not find. And the Wifi login and password did not work. Didn't bother messaging host because they don't respond back. The cabin was immaculate. Beautifully decorated. It was peaceful and removed from the busy traffic sounds. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend.

We own 8 log cabin rentals, all in Lake Lure. Pls read our over 500 plus reviews from our new guests and many yearly retutn guests- Mountain Haven Properties LLC-Lake Lure. As we explain in the check in info, please callor text with any questions. We are in the mountains and emails do not always come theu instantly.
We offer a firepit upon request, as explained to this guest, we were under a burn ban in our County. All homes in our area are log homes and our community is very fire conscious. We did respond to the guest a fore pot would not be available during a burn ban in our area.
The cabin was in a beautiful, quiet mountain neighborhood. We were greeted by deer upon arrival. We brought our two smalls dogs who loved the river and mountain trail. We were very happy with our stay
We spent a 3 day weekend for a family trip. We really enjoyed the location. “Neighborhood “ had a wonderful river area with picnic tables we enjoyed. House was very remote. Loved the deck.
Beautiful area, great private lake, steep winding roads to walk to the lake, cabin was nice , lacking a few items such as hot pads for the oven and only 2 towels for the beach, steep basement stairs but all and all great place to go.
We had a great time staying at this property. It was secluded and quiet at the cabin but still close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and nearby attractions. Small Beach and swimming hole on the property were great for the grandkids. We had a small black bear walk past the cabin one evening which was real neat to see.
This was a beautiful cabin & the landscape was breathtaking! This was our daughter's first vacation ever (we adopted her from Taiwan last August). Our family loved the waterfall! It was our favorite. The small rapids next to it were so fun for our daughter & son to tube down. (Corn hole at the cabin was also a fun activity we loved.)The lake is gorgeous. We enjoyed kayaking/canoeing & swimming). Our 2 small dogs also enjoyed all the walks & smells on the dog friendly nature walk!) Liz had everything we needed and was quick to respond to our questions. Except for a quick trip in town and a scenic drive we never left. Even when it rained we loved hearing the sound in the cabin. Simply amazing!
My family had a wonderful time here! We appreciate Liz with her help and responding to our questions. The property was clean and exactly the getaway style we were looking for. A little tricky getting to the property but just read the instructions closely. Our kids enjoyed the experience and we will absolutely keep this property on our favorite list!
Nice couzy cabin in the forest area. The closest lake is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive. Lots of activities aroind such as rafting, ziplining, hiking and much more. All apliences are old but in working condition.
We had a great time.
We were looking for a quiet escape to relax and found it here. There were a lot of activities available but our goal was quiet and rest. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and the coziness of the charming house. The owners were very kind . We loved walking in and seeing the holiday decorations too. It made for a really warm welcome.
A perfect location and quiet. Very peaceful and a very nice cabin and property. Excellent! Plenty of solitude and nature. Had a bear drop by for a visit. Deer, wild turkeys, coyotes and ravens and woodpeckers. The area was beautiful with nice trails and roads. The lake was gorgeous as well. Will definitely be back for more stays.
Thank you
The cabin was perfect for celebrating New Year, very cozy and with a wood burning fireplace. Although there are neighbors along the road up the mountain, you can’t see the other houses from this cabin. We enjoyed the kid friendly hiking trails nearby, shopping in Chimney Rock Village and the local restaurants. Asheville and Greenville are located within an hour from the cabin and we visited there too. Overall we enjoyed the area and will go back in the summer next time.
We could not have had a better 44th anniversary!! Liz Fister and her husband are just wonderful host and hostess. They confirmed at check in we had everything for our stay and made sure they would be available anytime if we needed them... exceptional stay for comfort and a restful serene environment... thank you Mr and Mrs Fister!!

I am very sorry you had a problem with everything and the area. Most of our guests enjoy the cabin and the peaceful setting. All of our furniture is less than 2 years old and the cabin is thoroughly cleaned between each guest. We only allow a minimum of 8 guests as the cabin cannot accomodate larger groups.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. The DVD player is on a shelf and very easy to hook up. Many of our guests hook up Roku and they cannot both be hooked up at the same time. Our housekeeping crew shows up at 10:15 to clean for the next guest. When they arrived at 10:15 they had to wait for you all to pack up. Unfortunately we cannot offer a later checkout in the summer months. Our phone numbers and email address and the housekeepers number are all listed in the cabin. We are all available anytime for any issues. We had no calls or emails from anyone in your group during your stay. Sorry you had an issue with the stairs? They have handrails on both sides so not sure what the issue was. Thanks again.
