I grew up near Palmer Alaska on a Reindeer farm. I’ve kept Reindeer for pets my entire life. My husband and I homesteaded this place over 20 years ago. We own a 40 acre parcel that we purchased at a land auction. The fact that it came with a secluded private lake was a big bonus that we enjoy daily. We keep a couple Reindeer and some horses, along with other farm animals for our own enjoyment and to share with others. Every summer, we grow a lot of vegetables and enjoy having a high tunnel Greenhouse to extend our growing season. Our property does not have access to the power grid, so we make our own power with solar panels and/ or a generator that charge our batteries.

Why they chose this property

Our property is in the Big Lake area, which is the outskirts of the city of Wasilla. We like that we are not too far from the city but rural enough to have a lot of space to farm and recreate in our own backyard. We enjoy the views we have here on our property of Denali and several mountain ranges.

What makes this property unique

Guests at our cabin are sure to enjoy a quiet retreat that is easily accessible and affordable. The lake and the farm animals (especially the reindeer) make it an extra special and unique experience for families.
