Amara is a beautiful facility and this penthouse unit is fantastic. Many upgrades from other units and great maid service. We have stayed in many units at Amara and this is on the top of our list.

The Best In Ixtapa!

We just returned from a nine night stay at Amara. The Penthouse is the perfect place to stay with a group of eight. We all had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. Plus the outdoor living spaces are fantastic! You have a wonderful balcony on the living level. Then you go up to the rooftop and Wow!!! You are on top off everything. Lots of seating for all plus the cold spa is heavenly. The unit is well equipped with everything. Maid service daily. You are totally pampered! Dealing directly with the owner Gaby was the best. She gets back to you promptly. Always making sure things are to your expections. The pools and beach bar are the best we have found. Always lounge chairs and space for your group. If you want the best accommodation in Ixtapa this is where you want to stay!!

Beautiful penthouse, superbly maintained

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fabulous penthouse. Gabriel, the owner was always responsive and extremely helpful. Petra, the cook and Jorge, the property manager, took such good care of us. It was heaven to wake up to Petra's amazing breakfasts, with fresh squeezed orange juice, fruit, and anything from eggs and bacon to traditional Mexican breakfasts (great chilaquiles!). For lunch, Petra would fix shrimp cerviche, chicken tostadas, pescadillas, guacamole, sides or whatever you ask for. It was wonderful. We did Yoga on the top deck of the penthouse before breakfast and that was the perfect start to our stay. This penthouse is special-it is on the south end of the condo towers so it has a 300 degree view of ocean, beach and mountains-spectacular! The cool tub on the top deck is another great place to relax. The furniture, decorations, linens and kitchen gear are all top notch. You simply won't find a more wonderful place for your beach vacation.

Exceeded Expectations Fantastic Vacation!

We highly recommend this VRBO condo! The unit is as spectacular as the photos suggest, and the views are incredible. We sat on our expansive patio every evening to watch amazing sunsets. Jorge the property manager was very friendly and responsive and made great recommendations for entertainment and dining. He recommended a professional photographer, Adrian, who took fantastic photos of our family on the beach for a very fair price. He also recommended Mario the taxi driver who drove us everywhere, always on time, and surprisingly cheap fares. Petra and her team cleaned daily and kept the condo spotless. We hired Petra to cook dinner for our party of 6 one evening and it was one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences of the entire vacation. The location and amenities of the Amara property include a 1.7 mile pristine beach, 3 pools and a pool bar and grill, & very close proximity walking distance to numerous restaurants and shopping. This VRBO condo exceeded our expectations! We had a fantastic vacation!

Wow!!!!

Wow! was the first word out of each member of my family when arriving at the penthouse. I've stayed many times at the Amara but the penthouse is just fantastic. The view is spectacular (even better than other condos at the Amara I've stayed at) and the penthouse is extremely well appointed--everything from beautiful and comfortable furniture to a well stocked kitchen and bar. The benefits of the penthouse include a balcony that runs across the whole main floor (other condos just have a balcony across the living room) and a spacious rooftop deck with Jacuzzi, interior lounge area and wet bar. Awnings come down at the touch of a button so that you can enjoy eating lunch on the balcony without worrying about getting too much sun. Petra keeps the condo clean (making beds and cleaning dishes) so all you need to do is relax and enjoy. Gabriella is a fantastic owner to deal with from beginning to end--the nicest owner I have dealt with. I always stay in her condo unless its booked. The only problem is you will never want to go home.

Our best vacation yet.

This was my first time to Ixtapa not staying in a resort and since fishing here since 1992 I've stayed in just about all of them. Since my fathers passing I have carried on our traditional fishing trips with my kids ( 13 & 15 ) and a couple friends . The Amara was an excellent choice, we had and an amazing stay in Gabreilas condo , it was everything we could ask for and more, and if your kids are like mine having there own rooms was a plus... fighting was minimal..lol.. , the grounds were well maintained and security present at all times ( so very safe) the pools clean and the view from the roof top patio incredible ( for a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night ) the rooms spacious, the kitchen had everything you'd need to cook a gourmet dinner ( I love to cook ) and was all kept very clean by Petra. We went to the Grocery store in Zih. bought munchies, breakfast , lunch things all our drinkables and went to the fabulous restaurants in the area for dinner at night . There was nothing negative I could say about our stay at Gabreilas but the fact we had to come back to Canada and the cold. I would recommend giving it a chance with your family, my 15 year old daughter even enjoyed herself and she's my worst critic ( for you single dads ) ! Cheers..!

2nd time here, and perfect as ever

I stayed here a couple years ago, and really enjoyed the visit with a large group. The property is arguably the finest view in Ixtapa. The Southwest corner of the building affords a complete view of the crescent-shaped beach in Ixtapa, as well as complete views to the South hills and the golf course and mountains. It’s really amazing, a great place to relax. I spent time in equal amounts between the condo and pool below. Furnishings are excellent and superior to all other units I’ve stayed in - including other buildings in Ixtapa. This is the best unit, period. Housekeeping is run very efficiently. They were responsive to instructions in the fly, and freely texted with changes to the plan for food prep and time scheduling for cleaning services. Pricing was extremely reasonable. I can’t think of a better unit, especially for a larger group. I stayed alone this time, and loved every minute. Makes it hard to go back to work!

Breathtaking Beachfront Penthouse Condo

We had a fabulous week (2/10-2/17) at the beautiful Amara PH1-A penthouse condo that exceeded our expectations. This was our first time staying at the Amara & our first experience staying in a penthouse. I highly recommend staying in this penthouse condo. The views were spectacular of both the ocean & mountains. Having coffee and seeing the sunrise every morning from the roof top patio was amazing & cooling off in the cold water jacuzzi was nice. We all had a very relaxing vacation and the weather was perfect in the low 80's all week. Jorge, the property manager was very nice & informative. We had Petra cook dinner for our group of 8 one of the evenings and it was very delicious. Petra also cleaned the condo daily, she came around 10:00 each morning. There is an ice maker in the wet bar off the roof top patio which came in handy for cocktails and drinking water. A water jug is on the counter in the kitchen for making coffee and can be re-stocked for 25 pesos by calling the office that was promptly bought up to the condo by their staff. The only thing missing from this beautiful condo is a barbecue grill on the roof top patio. It would be nice to have been able to grill some fresh fish and shrimp if we had had one. Thank you Gaby for allowing us to rent your beautiful condo. I hope we can stay here again in the future. Robyn

Stunning sunsets

Beautiful property. Lives up to everything in the write up and pictures. The top floor balcony must be the highest point on Ixtapa beach and provides a spectacular view of the amazing sunsets. Cold water spa tub is a bonus. Weather was perfect and the people are very friendly and helpful especially the property manager and the housekeeper that will also cook dinner for you. Don't miss that opportunity. Get down to the beach early because there are a limited number of chairs and they go fast. Highly recommend Ixtapa and this property.

Perfect vacation in pure luxury!

We enjoyed 5 nights here over New Years with my extended family. The penthouse is absolutely perfect, with huge entertaining areas and all the comforts you might want. We especially enjoyed: the incredible view from what might be the highest and most beautiful deck in Ixtapa, the coffee machine, the maid service, beautiful furniture and decor, spacious areas to relax and visit, close location and proximity to downtown, and comfortable bedding in each room.

Breathtaking and gorgeous!!!

This was our first trip as a family to Ixtapa. Staying at this penthouse was absolutely fabulous! No one wanted to leave. From the moment we opened the front door and set our eyes on the spectacular view, we were literally mesmerized. Jorge, the property manager had lead us to the penthouse and shared information about the property. He became our instant friend. He beamed with pride as he showed us this unbelievable penthouse. None of us could take our eyes off the beautiful view. The penthouse itself is wonderfully decorated - stylish yet totally comfortable. Each room is cozy and has the air of a resort. The entire penthouse is simply fabulous. The pictures don't really capture its beauty. What's more, is that the staff, Petra and her assistants, are gracious and hospitable. She prepares meals with love and flavor and she keeps the place immaculate! We spent much of our time relaxing by the pool and spending time on the beach. The beach is clean and we felt safe. The staff at the Amara was very well aware of its guests and they, too, always greeted us and took care of us. The Amara is a stone's throw from local shopping, the flea market, and many fabulous restaurants. Our family chose to do a dolphin encounter, which was a brief walk from Amara. This property exceeded our expectations on every level. The kids didn't want to leave! We highly recommend this property for your next visit. We certainly can't wait to go back. Thank you for an AMAZING experience!

ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!!!!

WOW!!! The pictures don't do this amazing penthouse justice! Beautifully decorated, amazing views day and night! The living room and the master bedroom have floor to ceiling sliding doors so you never miss seeing or hearing the ocean. Venture up to the rooftop and it just takes it up another level. Comfy, high quality furniture and a jacuzzi to cool off in, especially at night as well as spectacular views of the bay. We spent most of our time relaxing by the pool and enjoying watching the parasailers and seadoo riders come and go. We took a walk on the beach (very clean), to one of the massage shacks that was recommended by the owner. One of the best hour long massages ever and so inexpensive. We went back again! We did the Ixtapa Island snorkel trip which was great! Not what I was expecting, but definitely worth it!! That's what adventures are all about! The island was covered with coral and the fish were beautiful. We had fresh caught lobster and red snapper!! After the day on the island, we visited the alligator lagoon which also had huge iguanas! Our dining experience: El Faro near the southern part of the bay, took a short taxi ride and sat outdoors with a view of the bay! Gorgeous! The food was incredible! We also went to Bogart's, which is right outside Amara. Probably one of the best meal experiences we've had, as there was a solo musician playing romantic music, and the waiter prepared homemade caesar salad dressing at our table!! Out of this world goodness! And then the open flame caramel sauce crepes!! Oh my goodness!! The day we arrived, Gabriella called to make sure we had arrived and gave us gave us direction on what to do. Petra arrived at 9:30 the next morning and made us our first breakfast after the date of our arrival. Homemade tomatillo salsa, fruit platter with yogurt, and huevos rancheros. Muy deilicioso!!!! After that, my husband enjoyed his daily breakfast at Deborah's. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend staying!!

ABOVE OUR EXPECTATIONS!

When we pulled up to the gate and saw the front of the Amara for the first time, we were even more excited! The grand curved elevation of the building was so well designed. The parking lot made of grass with covered spaces keep our car cool. But when we walked in the front door into the living room the ocean breeze hit us and the incredible veiw of the ocean, wow, we knew we made the right decision! The living rm floor to ceiling sliders open to the walls on either side creating an almost complete open air room. The glass railings give you an un obstructed veiw of the grass lawn, pools and ocean. The whole layout of the place is perfect.The staff were awsome, they made us feel like royalty! Zihuatanejo is a very cool laid back town. Most of the streets have wooden awnings over the sidewalks like the old west. Very nice people. It was just my wife and I, but it is a perfect place for our next family reunion. We will most certainly be back! J and K

beautiful, great memories to be made with family or friends

The penthouse was jaw dropping beautiful. I needed more than a week to enjoy every corner of the living space. The environment was comfortable and cozy, with plenty of space for 9 the 8 adults and one child . Sometimes it was hard finding everyone spread out on the rooftop cold pool, enormous deck, or in large bedrooms. The views and sunsets were stunning. On New Year's Eve the fireworks were at eye level with us on the roof top. Petra, the cleaning woman and cook was fantastic. She spent several hours every day picking up after us, keeping the place spotless. She cooked 3 wonderful dinners for us during our stay making traditional Mexican meals, including preparung fish we caught deep sea fishing. It was great to sit back, watch the sunset, then be served and cleaned up after in the comfort of the beatuful living space. Despite having some communication problems with the condo manager, Gabriella, the owner, was very helpful and consciousness about checking in with us to answer questions, and give suggestions about restaurants, and activities like paddle boarding. If you want to have fantastic memories in a warm, inviting, and safe place, choose this penthouse.

One Week during a 3 1/2 months world around trip

End of June 2015 my girlfriend and me spent a wonderful complete week in this wonderful penthouse. We appreciated very much the privacy of the pool area and of course the appartment itself. Awesome view and a wonderful dinner made by owner's maid. Wonderful Restaurant El Faro in Ixtapa and La Case que Canta in Zihuatanejo. We are looking forward staying again in this wonderful appartment in wonderful Ixtapa.

Excelente experiencia

Pase unas vacaciones excelentes en compañía de mi abuela, mi mama y mi tío, lo que hizo mas especial esta semana sin lugar a dudas fue AMARA, y sobretodo este PH que se distingue de todos los demás departamentos por la vista increíble que tiene al mar, y sin dejar atrás que esta adecuadamente bien equipado, para cualquiera que sean tus necesidades. La terraza fue mi lugar favorito, con vista a la playa, cuenta con un jacuzzi en donde puedes ver relajadamente la puesta del sol, es una experiencia sin igual. Petra una persona muy amable, excelente trabajadora, cocina delicioso, muy atenta. Definitivamente superó mis expectativas, ampliamente lo recomiendo, vale la pena.

Would return immediately...

As a short getaway from business life for a group of 9 we had choosen this PH for a weekend which in reality exceeded our expectations. The PH is great equipped with all the things you need, perfect located with a breathtaking view from the Top. The service and here especially the cooking skills of our housekeeper (!) was awesome. They prepared our caught sailfish in different ways and it was excellent. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Amazing ! Fabuloso!

Sin duda AMARA es la mejor opción para visitar Ixtapa, pero aún dentro AMARA, este PH se distingue de otros departamentos. Un excelente gusto en la decoración y muy bien mantenido. El Staff (Petra) muy servicial y con muy buena sazón. La propietaria es muy atenta a que las cosas estén de acuerdo a lo ofrecido. La terraza ofrece una vista excepcional de la playa y de la montaña. El balcón a todo lo largo del departamento le da a uno la sensación de estar inmerso en el Pacífico. Para familias con niños pequeños como nuestro caso, el llegar a AMARA y en particular a este PH es muy relajante ya que espacio suficiente para todos. Nuestras vacaciones acaban de terminar y ya queremos regresar !

EXCELENTE LUGAR PARA VACACIONAR

Por lo general no pongo comentarios en los lugares en donde vacaciono, pero esta propiedad lo amerita. Este penthouse tiene todo para pasar unas vacaciones inolvidables. Comodo, de muy buen gusto, excelente ubicacion, excelente servicio por parte de Petra y de los que laboran en Amara. Amara un lugar que me encanto ya que no hay mucha gente y sus instalaciones impecables. Rente esta propiedad por 4 noches en Noviembre y pienso regresar el proximo año. Muy buen servicio del property management. Altamente recomendable. Un lugar tranquilo y con todas las comodidades.
