About this property
Beach Block Shipyard Plantation, Lagoon View, PickleBall, Pools Pavilion, Grills
Located in Brigantine Quarters, a Shipyard Resort of Distinction, Unit #264 is a recently refurbished and professionally appointed 2 bedroom, 2 bath villa with a large rear balcony overlooking a lagoon with expansive water/ nature/ golf views. The balcony over the lagoon feels like a front row seat to your own semi-private wildlife sanctuary and has been a truly unique and special place for my family over the last 25 years - perfect for morning coffee/ meditations, bird/turtle/alligator watching, after beach/ pool lunches, homemade dinners, and late nights having a few drinks or playing board/ card games. The master suite includes a king-size bed, TV, bay window overlooking the lagoon, and large en-suite master bathroom - jacuzzi tub, separate walk-in shower, and 'his' & 'her' sinks. The second bedroom includes (2) twin beds, TV, private door access to the second full bathroom (tub/shower), and private sliding door access to the rear balcony overlooking the lagoon. The living room sofa has a pull-out bed.
This spacious unit sleeps (6) comfortably and is equipped with central HVAC, washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven/stove, full sized refrigerator, WiFi/cable TV, and fresh towels/ linens.
Perhaps the most unique, exclusive, and desirable feature of Brigantine Quarters' units, is it's private "back door" access to the beach and Colginy Plaza. A few steps from the unit, the secure gate is 2 blocks/short walk to the beach and short bike ride/ long walk to shops, restaurants, entertainment, and supermarket at Coligny Plaza.
Brigantine Quarters also offers (2) private pools (1 recently renovated - child-friendly pool, 1 heated pool, chaise lounge chairs, tables, umbrellas, poolside restrooms), (2) private pickle ball/ tennis courts, multiple barbeques, picnic tables, and private playground.
Shipyard offers a 27 hole championship golf course (not included in rental), access to the Van De Meer Tennis Academy, and miles of winding paved bike baths.
From the main gates of Shipyard to the front door of unit #264, all scenery is picturesque and maintained to best-in-class resort standards.
As teachers with summers off, my wife, 3 kids, and I would enjoy 6-10 consecutive weeks each summer in the unit comfortably. Our kids are now grown, our trips to HHI have become infrequent, and we are thrilled to share what is truly a "hidden gem" on the island.

About the host
Hosted by Bonnie and Tom Wedlick

As former New Jersey Public School teachers with long summer breaks, my wife and I would vacation with our three children (boy, boy, girl - 2 yrs apart each) for multiple weeks every summer, primarily by car. We explored every state up and down the East Coast, and fell in love with Hilton Head Island the moment we arrived on a whim in the early 90's. The Island was and still is absolutely beautiful. There are no in-your-face beach apparel stores on every corner with strict development codes to maintain the islands natural beauty with a focus on the environment and wildlife preservation throughout. The beaches are enormous and perfectly manicured (top 10 beach destination in the United States). The is and always has been a friendly laid-back vibe across the island. Hilton Head is family focused through and through. World class golf (30 course on the island and 39 within 20 miles). Endless bike paths (60+ miles). The list goes on and on... Hilton Head Island is such an amazing place which appeals to the masses, and has most certainly appealed to our family.
After our first stay, we knew Hilton Head Island was THE place we wanted to return to every summer. After touring every square inch of the island... every condo complex, every neighborhood (private, public, on island, off island), every townhouse, homes, lots, you name it, we were dragged an agent to investigate... we found Brigantine Quarters. It was, and always has been, too good to be true.
Year after year, we would spend 6-10 consecutive weeks each summer in our unit comfortably. 1,000's of hours on the beach, 1,000's of miles on our bikes, countless rounds of golf and games of tennis, 100's of home cooked meals in the unit and dinners on the balcony overlooking our lagoon and our wildlife friends, so many laughs, and life-long memories.
Our kids are now grown, our trips to HHI have become infrequent, and we are thrilled to share our unit, which is is truly a "hidden gem" on the island, with you.

Why they chose this property
The Villa has always felt like our own semi-private wildlife sanctuary on the lagoon. The Brigantine Quarters neighborhood is in a secluded area of Shipyard, an enclave of units tucked into a beautifully manicured corner of Shipyard. We shopped for years on Hilton Head Island, touring every condo / villa community on the island, and this is the only neighborhood located within a Plantation that offers a private gate within a short walk to the beach. The Brigantine Quarters gate also offers access to the best collection of shops, restaurants, entertainment, and a Supermarket within a long walk/ short bike ride (60+ restaurants / shops). There's two pools (one completely renovated / heated with public restrooms, including a shallow end for the little ones), chaise lounges, 2 tennis courts/ pickle ball courts, grills, a play area, grills, picnic benches, and pools.
