About this property

log cabin by the sea

Charming old log cabin with bedroom; kitchen-dining area, bathroom added. Away from the noise and traffic of Bar Harbor, yet 30 minutes from Mount Desert Island and 30 minutes from Schoodic Point. View of the ocean, with an unforgettable view of island and mountains from the beach. Beach access; swimming and boating possible. It's small (220 sq. ft.) but has 2-burner stove, microwave oven, toaster oven, compact frig, shower. Ceramic heaters and AC. WiFi. Bedroom has 1 double, 1 single bed. All linen and bedding supplied. Sorry, no pets (due to wildlife) and no smoking. Artists, musicians, and painters especially have been happy here.

Garbage pick-up is Tuesday morning. You leave a plastic, tagged garbage bag at the foot of the drive by 9:30. I provide tags. If garbage is a problem, I can provide a garbage can in my garage, but please don\'t leave garbage outdoors, as you will attract unwelcome wildlife. Please no noise that would disturb neighbors. I\'d be glad to help with planning day-trips, and answer any questions.

A relaxing getaway!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin! Surrounded on three sides by woods and on one side by a view of the bay out the front window gave us a combination of a vacation in the mountains and at the shore at the same time! Mount Desert Island with Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor was close enough to visit on several different days but far enough away for the tranquility we were looking for after other activities during the day. Our hostess gave us privacy and provided us with everything we needed for our weeklong stay. We definitely recommend this little cabin in the woods for anyone who wants a quiet place to unwind during their vacation!

Beauty unmatched
This was our second stay here and we truly could not imagine a more magical place. The breeze from the bay, the quiet of the area and the comfort of the cabin. Truly the perfect getaway. I recommend this gem to anyone.
