It’s hard to overstate how special a place this is. Ravens and red tailed hawks soar past the picture windows in the living room because the house is on top of a canyon. The silence is humbling to experience. It’s remote enough to make you feel like the only people on earth. The views are breathtaking. Pack a lunch because you won’t want to leave. Thank you Gordon for sharing!

The pictures cannot possibly do this location justice. The views are relaxing and awe-inspiring all on their own, and the home is beautiful and so thoughtfully decorated and outfitted. The art and books are tempting and satisfying, but the views perfectly framed by the windows beckon you out of doors. The beds are a dream, the kitchen more well outfitted than even described. We were able to make cappuccinos with the stovetop maker available on our stay! There are lovely short morning hikes available from right the house, and the launch point is a short drive away and seamless if you're doing anything on the water. The quiet is amazing, and the porch a delight in the mornings. Enough space to do yoga, write at the patio table, and grill something all in the same hour. We cooked all of our own meals in the well appointed kitchen, but there are also lovely restaurants in the area. We drove 45 minutes to the hoodoos at Dar-al-Islam - well worth looking up. Ojo is an easy drive, as well. The hot tub is beautiful, with an unparalleled view. The sound of the runoff from rain cascading down the cliff face across the water was a meditation unto itself. Big outdoors, cozy well-appointed appointed indoors. We'll be back. This is one for the books.

This is a beautifully built house with stunning views of the Abiquiu Lake to the west. We really enjoyed dining outdoors and were treated to a double rainbow one early evening. The sunsets were lovely to spectacular. Night fall brought out the brilliant canopy of stars across the dark sky. And so quiet.The house is nicely furnished with regional decor, historical books lie about, and a well-equipped kitchen lies within the great room.There are no boat rentals at the marina. But if one wishes to enjoy boating on the lake, just google rental/delivery options for that area. We did bring a small inflatable dinghy, but the lake shore by the house is strewn with boulders that could make access difficult for older people.

A spectacular retreat to recharge your batteries and flood your senses with beautiful scenery. All quiet except for the birds. Absolutely loved our stay, and our hikes. Gordon is a gracious and very responsive host. We'll be back!

This is our 4th time staying here, and as always, its very comfortable. Stunning views, incredibly peaceful, and plenty of sitting areas outside to see the Chama River and mountains. We went kayaking and swimming, and spent hours enjoying the views and watching sunsets.

Stunning views!

We spent Thanksgiving week here and had an amazing time. The views were out of this world. Gordon's place is a little piece of paradise and we can't wait to come back in the summer when we can enjoy the lake more.

Best Thanksgiving Ever

The house was so great! We had an amazing time and were very well taken care of by the owners. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in staying in Abiquiu. The beds were comfortable, the hot tub was a great way to end each evening, the entertainment setup and movies featuring Abiquiu were also a great touch. Thanks again for the wonderful stay.

Mesmerizing Views

Words cannot truly explain the breathtaking location and views from this property- you really have to see it for yourself! A bald eagle soaring over welcomed us on the first day.

Perfect relaxing getaway

If you don't mind being well away from shops/restaurants (i.e. stock up on groceries before you arrive), this place is a gem. Amazing views, atop a hill overseeing Lake Abiquiu, very nicely maintained place. Owner was super-easy to deal with. My wife and I just relaxed for 2 days. Great place to decompress.
