Eleutherìa: Cozy Cottage in the heart of Tuscany

Eleutherìa is a recently renovated cottage, situated atop a hill surrounded by the stunning Tuscan countryside. It lies right in the heart of hiking trails that wind through centuries-old forests and untamed nature; those who walk along them can connect with nature and discover a sense of belonging to it. The cottage offers 75 square metres (800 square feet) of living space, including a patio overlooking the garden where you can relax and unwind. Just about 18 km (11 mi) from the medieval city of Siena, it’s a strategic location for exploring Tuscany’s major attractions.
Eleutherìa (meaning “freedom” in ancient Greek) is the storey of my journey towards freedom—and, just as in ancient Greek and Roman societies, a free person was one who enjoyed civil rights. Regaining control of myself and my life was the starting point for my desire to share this freedom with others.

As a passion and hobby, I regularly organise hiking trips (free of charge) for individuals or larger groups, sometimes focused on mushroom and herb foraging in the province of Siena and the surrounding areas. Eleutherìa has a vegetable garden that I tend, which usually yields more seasonal vegetables and salad than I can eat, and I’m happy to get some “help” with the harvest. The large garden also features a century-old chestnut tree where you can relax in its shade or inside its hollow trunk while reading a delightful book.

The cottage is built of stone with thick walls, which were properly insulated during the last renovation, keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. In the winter, in addition to electric heat pumps, Eleutherìa is equipped with two wood-burning stoves to create a romantic and cosy atmosphere. Wi-Fi is available both inside the apartment and outside. It is equipped with an induction cooktop, microwave, espresso maker, toaster, kettle, small refrigerator, and everything needed for a restful and pleasant stay. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Please note that this is a non-smoking apartment. One parking space is available next to the house, and additional private parking spaces are available 150 metres away.
