About this property

The Beach House on Florida's Forgotten Coast

The Beach House is a home like no other. Built by Curt in 2014, this cottage is nestled within the palms of a large, serene corner lot on the beautiful Forgotten Coast. The quiet area around the house allows for a relaxing trip with uncrowded beaches. Light-washed hardwood runs floor to ceiling throughout the home and the large windows provide spectacular views of the surrounding environment. Our private access trail across the street, outdoor shower, and water hose make beach trips a breeze. This coastal area is pet-friendly and offers many enjoyable possibilities including peaceful strolls on the beautiful beaches, swimming, sun bathing, boating, snorkeling, fishing, crabbing, scalloping and surfing. Beach equipment including golf carts, canoes, kayaks, and extra chairs can be rented nearby.

The balconies are great for watching the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, as well as for wildlife viewing. Bottlenose dolphins are often seen swimming by, even from the house. Loggerhead sea turtles make their nests on our beaches from May through October. The empty lot across Hall street is a State Preserve where eagles are viewed almost daily. Also, be sure to listen out for the mockingbird family that lives nearby! It is not uncommon to see one sit on the roof to recite his songs for the day.

The Beach House is a custom built two-story home with two bedrooms, two full baths, a large kitchen and family room, and a private breakfast room with spectacular views to enjoy your morning coffee. The house sleeps eight, with a queen size bed in each bedroom, and two pull out queen size sofa beds in the living room. There are porches on both the front and back of the home. The back porch is screened and there are small open deck porches off of each bedroom which are excellent for greeting the morning sun or watching the stars at night.

The Beach House contains a fully equipped kitchen, a utility room with a washer and dryer, wi-fi, and a smart TV with streaming capabilities and Hulu+ access for live channels. The private breakfast room and family room offer excellent beach views. The house has central heating and air conditioning and ceiling fans are installed in most rooms. The large yard includes outdoor grills and a cement breezeway under the house complete with a wooden porch swing, picnic table, and ping pong table for entertaining and enjoying the outdoors.

This coastal area offers one of the last beautiful private and peaceful beaches in Florida, where you can collect a variety of sea shells, appreciate wildlife, and enjoy the peace and beauty of The Uncommon Florida. If you're looking for a beautiful, one of a kind home on a quiet beach to relax and enjoy the wonders of Florida's Forgotten Coast, the Beach House is the place!

- The Indian Pass Raw Bar is a unique restaurant with a rich history. With a 2 minute drive, you can enjoy delicious, local seafood including oysters, stuffed shrimp, and crab legs. Outside they often have live music or karaoke. Be sure to mark your hometown on the map inside!
- Less than 15 minutes west, you will find the city of Port St. Joe where you can enjoy fine dining, great shopping, outdoor adventures, and other entertainment.
- The St. Joseph Peninsula State Park located on Cape San Blas is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches. You can rent canoes and kayaks or launch your own boat into the pristine waters of St. Joe Bay.
- Another interesting and educational place to visit is the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve which is located approximately 30 miles to the east. Free to the public, the nature center at the Reserve offers educational exhibits and aquaria featuring local fish, turtles and other wildlife. This is a family favorite.
- If you enjoy shopping in small eclectic shops, you will want to visit the historic town of Apalachicola to the east and enjoy some delicious, fresh seafood while you're there. This is also a great place to pick up some local tupelo honey to bring home.

RELAXING
It was a great location, just yards from the beach and could see the beach from the house. The pups were very comfortable from the time we got there until we left. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. The hosts (Curt & Linda) were extremely friendly and communicated quite well. Wonderful hospitality which included a tasty seafood gift. I would certainly consider staying here again!!!

Peaceful house on a secluted beach
The house was even more beautiful in person. The beach was quiet, the house beautifully decorated in coastal style. There are some very good dive bars nearby, as well as the Saint Joseph Peninsula National Park. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough.

Why they chose this property

The owners have lived in this area all of their lives and they built the home themselves on the beautiful beach that they have visited and loved since they were children. The home is designed to capture as many views of the outdoors as possible.

What makes this property unique

The Beach House is located on a unique corner lot and offers beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico with easy access to the beach. The lot across the street is preserved by the State of Florida and bald eagles and other birds are seen almost daily. There are so many places to sit, relax and enjoy the salty breezes from the Gulf and the breath-taking scenery.
