About this property
Goof Off at the Gufenauf
The original 'Gufenauf' name was for our boat, symbolizing our intentions -to goof off! We learned to do it so well, we extended the name to our house and invite you to enjoy your own goofin' off experience.
This Gulf Front home is located at Indian Pass in the heart of 'Florida's Forgotten Coast'. Indian Pass is one of the last beaches which still allows campfires for wiener-roasts and s'mores. Because of the unique land/water interplay, the sky creates a planetarium affect, producing sunrises, sunsets and night skies that have to be seen to be believed.
Bring your boat, the driveway is accommodating and the public boat ramp leading to some of Florida's best fishing is only 3/4 mile east; but if you don't find our hidden grouper holes, just drive one mile west to the renowned Indian Pass Raw Bar, home to Apalachicola's finest oysters and seafood. Snorkeling and scalloping is available in St. Joe Bay, only a few miles further West. One-quarter mile from the boat ramp lies St. Vincent Island, a 12,358 acre uninhabited national wildlife refuge (a shuttle is available). Also within minutes is St. Joseph Peninsula State Park - A 2500 acre Park voted the top beach in America in 2002 and is constantly in the top 10!
No boat? Book your own diving or fishing charter with one of the many captains or just sit on the balcony, sipping your favorite beverage and watch the shrimp boats passing the 'Gufenauf' on their way to deep waters.
Whether it’s fishing, crabbing, diving or metal detecting for the legendary pirates' treasure buried at Money Bayou, we hope you enjoy the magic of 'Gufenauf'!

About the host
Hosted by Ralph Monger

Although we live in Central Fl., we have been coming to Indian Pass for the past 35 years. At first we rented in the area and then in 1987 we bought the Gufenauf. To visit Indian Pass is like stepping back in time 50 years. We have been lucky enough to take our kids, grandkids and now our great grandkids to this magical place. It truly is the 'Forgotten Coast' and hopefully will remain that way for many years to come.
Why they chose this property
This is a question better answered by those renters who come back year after year.
What makes this property unique
We love it here because it's quite, safe, and secluded. We enjoy fishing off of the beach and crabbing with the kids, not to mention, the fresh seafood in the area. Mostly, we enjoy just kicking back, doing nothing, and working on our stress relief. We've had enough of the big city resort vacations.
