Great property, beautiful house and setting, wonderful location to downtown Lexington and points of interest in the area. Plenty of room for our family group.
Within minutes of checking in and being greeted by host, we felt completely at home. Well appointed, great gathering spaces, large eating area, and beautiful setting. Great walking access to park/trail and downtown. Made a special family gathering very memorable.
Whitewood Hall was absolutely perfect. Everything was so comfortable and welcoming. The home and grounds are beautiful, clean and very modern within a historic home. I would highly recommend Whitewood Hall and look forward to my next visit.

Thanks so much for the fantastic review. We are so glad that you found our house to be the perfect location :) Best, Donna and Bill
Great house, great location, & incredible front porch
We came to town for my son’s wedding. My kids and 2 young grandchildren stayed with us. Fantastic. Front porch was awesome - we sat outside 3 out of 4 nights on the porch swing. Every morning the family congregated on the porch. Easy walk to the center of town. It was everything we hoped it would be.

This is an amazing, well appointed, beautiful home. We enjoyed coffee and cocktails on the front porch, cozy family room connections with old friends, meals via the upgraded kitchen, and good nights rest in the comfy beds. This is our favorite home in Lex and where great memories are made. Hosts are responsiveness and Anna-Lisa was so very helpful at check in and throughout stay. Thanks for sharing your home.
We were in Lexington for our daughter’s wedding at the Seclusion If I could give 100 stars I would! The house is fabulous and oh my the front porch! You never want to leave! But downtown is within walking distance for those wishing to take advantage of later night fun. Annalisa gave us so many great activity/food options . We passed a few on to our friends who were also in town. Thank you for adding so much to our wedding weekend enjoyment!
We (family of 5 - 2 adults, 3 teens) rolled into Lexington on a Thursday evening and stayed through Sunday. The home was lovely and the convenience of walking distance was fabulous for us to come and go, dine and sight see, walk to W&L Campus, etc. Plenty of room for more - as we were hoping another couple and their son were joining us - home would easily have accommodated 2 more adults and another teen. Beds were comfortable, kitchen / living area wonderful and front porch made for a relaxing retreat! As my husband and I are W&L alums, hope to re rent for reunions and other events in the future!! Owners and local friend very easy to reach with any questions we may have had, overall 10 stars if I could!!
It was an honor to stay at Whitewood Hall. Our family was there for 4 nights to celebrate my son's VMI graduation and Army commissioning. The location was very conveniently located to Main Street and also is a 10-minute walk to VMI's parade grounds and Cameron Hall. The house was comfortable and spacious enough for those who wanted to relax on the front porch, watch TV in the family room, or sit quietly in the living room. We didn't get to spend as much time enjoying the front porch as we wanted, graduation week at VMI is very busy, but it was a comfort to come back to Whitewood Hall to make a quick lunch or a snack, and then head out back to VMI for the rest of the day. The kitchen was spacious and worked well for us. The beds were comfortable, everyone slept well. The yard was gorgeous and very green, many different kinds of birds were out throughout the day. Even a deer ran through the front yard one evening, it was a beautiful sight. Donna was attentive and answered questions we had right away. We had a memorable and blessed stay!
This is a lovely, elegant home with great amenities and friendly and helpful hosts. It was the perfect family hangout for the downtime during a wedding weekend. It has a well stocked kitchen and a large dining room. It’s an easy walk into town for restaurants and shops.
Everything about this home is terrific…especially relaxing with a glass of wine on warm evenings on the porch swing! The host, Donna, is incredibly gracious and the house manager is friendly and a wealth of information about Lexington and the surrounding area. Already looking forward to our next stay!
Our family stayed at this lovely home for our son’s July wedding weekend in Lexington. It was great for all of us to be together, yet have room to spread out. The home had everything that we needed and we enjoyed all of the spaces… the charming front porch, the lovely living room, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable family room. It was nice to have a first floor bedroom for grandparents. Upstairs bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. On wedding day, our son and his groomsmen enjoyed lunch together at the big table in the back room, then dressed in the large dining room with mirrored armoire! It was perfect!
Our only issue was that the sunroom (with trundle) where I had planned for our young grandson to sleep is not air conditioned and on a hot July weekend, the room never cooled off, so we had to make a bed for him on the floor in another bedroom. Just be mindful of number of beds needed and time of year.
Owners were lovely to work with and accommodating. We would definitely choose Whitewood Hall again. It was a perfect place!
This house in downtown Lexington was the perfect space for my family as we gathered for a memorial service. The historic house is beautifully renovated and decorated, very clean, and is well stocked. Perfect location to walk to shops and restaurants and a relaxing front porch with ceiling fan to keep you cool on summer evenings. Hope to stay again! .
Everything was great, start to finish! Excellent house. Perfect location right at the edge of downtown; most things were easily walkable from the house. Check-in and check-out were a breeze with helpful instructions sent ahead of time. Would definitely stay again!
This is an excellent property for a visit to Lexington with a group of friends. Tons of space, nicely renovated kitchen and living room area. Comfortable beds. Very clean. Great wifi. Beautiful porch and back yard. Very central location to downtown Lexington within short walking distance to Washington & Lee campus. Would 100% stay again.
