Sharkalope was the perfect place for my family to gather and have a special weekend. The house was clean and spacious with lots and lots of character. We loved that it is just steps away from the beach. The hot tub and grill was also great. Our pups had so much fun they really tired themselves out. I also have to mention how wonderful the hosts are! They have excellent communication, are friendly and quick to respond. We definitely recommend staying here.

Charmingly quirky house, super clean and fantastic communication from the host. We walked out the back door and down a little trail to the beach. It was the perfect graduation trip!

Comfortable beds, perfect location, great for large families. Only drawback would be the smaller kitchen. We just had to take turns cooking!

This house was so great for our group of 6 -- lots of bedrooms, super close to the beach, easy walk into town. The host was incredibly responsive and answered immediately the few times we had questions. My one comment is that the hot tub could use a set of stairs -- climbing in and out as a short person was a little challenging.

Great vacation for my annual family trip to Rockaway for the 4th of July! The kids loved the games in the basement! Not too bad of a walk to the beach, maybe a minute or two from the house through the vegetation. My 60 year old parents did fine but I can understand from previous reviews about elderly people having issues. No complaints from us as it’s hard to complain when you have Twin Rocks to look at every morning. It’s an older home but well taken care of! Great hosts and great location. We are hoping to book it again! Also, read the guestbook on the fireplace. It’s hilarious and you will have a delight if you brought a Jeremy as a guest.

Had a grand time at the "Sharkalope". The vintage dwelling proved perfect for our beach stay. Very clean and close to the water, everyone occupied themselves with coastal activities.

Spring Break family trip

Grandparents, parents, and cousins alike enjoyed all the house had to share. Kids loved the quick beach access on the sunny day, arcade and board games during the rain and/or evening. Accommodations were as expected, nicely sized, and provided space for quiet time as well as family time.

Family getaway location

This house was great for us. We had ages from 60-2yrs old staying at the house and it was perfect. With so many bedrooms, the bonus game room downstairs and the beach access was amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location

The house was big enough to fit 12 of us comfortably. The kitchen was cozy but we made it work well. Loved the size of the dining table it was great for gathering and meals.

Spectacular spot!

We enjoyed the Crabalope, but we LOVED the Sharkalope!! Excellent house for families to enjoy common space and privacy. Plenty of bathrooms. Bonus that the television isn't the main attraction in the living room. We read on the couches and played in the arcade. Perfect Rockaway spot.

Sharkalope and Shark-cuterie

Perfect house for 5 girlfriends to stay: sitting on the porch for beautiful morning sun on the Twin Rocks, then the gorgeous sunsets. beach walks, wine, cheese, crab and seafood all nearby. Lots of areas to sit and catch up and laugh. Beds are comfy. Hot tub perfect for post beach time. Lots of things provided to make stay a good one. Would come back here again.

Amazing

All total there were 15 of us and we never felt crowded. The owner and property managers are awesome, they responded quickly to our enquiries. We would definitely stay again and we highly recommend it to anybody. We came for a drama free and much needed escape from work and that is exactly what we got.

Great location

Overall it is a great house for a big group. The kitchen is small but we made do. The game room was fun for the younger generation. The best part was the access to the beach. The hot tub was wonderful but trying to keep sand out of it was a challenge. I would recommend a way to hose off closer to the hot tub.
