This secluded log cabin nestled on 2 wooded acres, off a private road, is located just minutes from the towns of West Jefferson and Boone in the North Carolina mountains. This cozy, two bedroom, two bath cabin which sleeps up to four people, comes fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing, peaceful and memorable vacation. The cabin is fully furnished, linens included, all kitchenware provided and offers lots of activities. Relax on the covered wrap-around porch, surf the internet, watch a DVD from the DVD library or catch your favorite streaming TV shows from the Roku devices on each LCD TV. Lounge in the outdoor Jacuzzi Hot Tub, read a book in the hammock (seasonal), enjoy a friendly game of horseshoes or make s'mores and tell stories around the fire pit.

There are plenty of local attractions to keep you busy when you go out for the day. You'll discover many fine restaurants, championship golf courses, winter ski resorts, antique and craft shops and many cultural events. The property is very nice close to the Timber Rivers wedding venue, which was perfect for us. We had an issue with the tv and communication with the owners was fast and effective. We were able to unplug the tv and turn it back on without issue. We weren’t able to use the hot tub but it is nice touch for those chilly evenings, as well as the fire pit. The dog treats and smore supplies are a thoughtful touch added by the owners as well. Overall we would definitely stay again!

The most peaceful little getaway

My family of 4 enjoyed this cabin so much! It was nice to get away from busy life and spend a quiet weekend in the outdoors. My kids (7 and 11) loved the trail to the creek and could have spent all day out there. We had to travel to West Jefferson for most restaurants but only about 15 minutes away.

Excellent mountain cabin

This cabin was awesome! We have stayed at many different cabins in the blue ridge mountains, and this one ranks up near the top for sure. Very well set up with instructions for everything, all the amenities you need and nothing you don't. Hot tub worked great, the river access was clean and perfect for wading and our dogs to play in. Has good proximity to town and parks/trails.

Every day was a fun day from cozy cabin, to deer in the woods, to finding stuff animals in trees. It was far enough way from Boone and close enough to Boone.

Privacy Abounds!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean, the bed was super comfy (which is one of the most important factors for us), & the shower had great water pressure. There were so many nice touches such as a plethora of DVD movies, games, & speakers for enjoying your favorite music outside. Highly recommend!!

Rhododendrons Everywhere!

We had the best time! I saw Orion's Belt for the 1st time from the Jacuzzi. Pizza from Pie on the Mountain really was as great as their reviews. As was Molly Chompers. This cabin was definitely a gem of a find.

Great Cabin

My husband and I stayed here for a quick anniversary trip, and thoroughly enjoy this cabin! The cabin was more than big enough for just the two of us, and it was very well appointed. We didn’t use the kitchen for other than our morning coffee, but if I wanted to cook a full meal, I would have had everything I needed. The trail to the river was very well marked and cleared for passage. Sitting on the swing next to the river was so peaceful! Would definitely stay here again.

Nice location and quiet, distance to river is a long hard walk to rive access, interior needs a deep cleaning/repairs, wood floors need repairs bad, doors chewed and scratched, no central HVAC only two small window units, no ventilation in kitchen or bathrooms. Exterior steps need leveling can easily slip off.

Perfect elopement getaway

My husband and I eloped just the two of us and our dogs in Grayson Highlands, and this cabin was such a great find! Very comfortable, quiet, and beautiful. The upstairs and downstairs bed/bath setup ended up being perfect for us each privately getting ready before our first look the porch on our wedding day. Also loved the walk to the riverfront area thats beautifully maintained. When were back in the area for future anniversaries we would definitely want to stay here again. Only about 30 minutes from Grayson Highlands and about 20 minutes from West Jefferson (great spot for food and drinks). The hosts also had so many recommendations and resources that we wish we could have pursued more if wed had the time.

This place has everything

We were so impressed with this property. It literally had everything we could possibly want from towels for the hot tub to Bluetooth speakers. They even provided wood for the fire pit, which was a very comfortable space to hang out in. And if you’re a smoker, there are ashtrays all over the place for you to use. We had a sisters weekend and had a blast. Everything we need or wanted was at our fingertips. The communication was excellent and the owners were very nice. We highly recommend staying at this property if you are interested in privacy and comfort.

We visit the North Carolina mountains in the summer and fall to escape the heat and observe the fall foliage. This location should be beautiful in the autumn. We chose this cabin for its location near some of our favorite places and other areas we wanted to explore. It served that purpose well. The cabin was clean, spacious, comfortable, and a welcome retreat after our excursions. The bedroom was large enough to walk around the bed easily. We are outdoor dwellers and especially enjoyed the wrap-around porch living spaces, where we would eat breakfast and play cards. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal. Everything worked, including the appliances, washer/dryer, and TVs, and all came with detailed instructions, so there were no usage hiccups.The bedroom loft with a bathroom served our teenage grandson well. He felt like he had his own space and spared us the hassle of sharing a bathroom with a teenager. DVDs and games abound. We used the cabin's cornhole game. The hot tub was a welcome respite after a long day of hiking.Although we didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin, this is one cabin where you could. It is a lovely location with outdoor features that we did not get to take advantage of. We did not use the outdoor fire pit, but it was nice to know it was there if we return in a different season, and there might even be room for badminton. Also, we did not venture down to the river, which might be worthwhile exploring.

We're always striving to make it the best it can be and are actively involved with our cabin. We manage the cabin completely on our own which means you and the cabin get our personal attention. Many rentals are managed through management companies which have so many properties they can't give the time and attention that's deserved to each property. Those owners might make it to their property once a year, if that. And we all know, no one is going to take pride in and give extra care to a property the way the owner will. That's why we handle everything from advertising, to bookings, to maintenance and follow-up on our own. We don't want to trust someone else to make our cabin great, we want to know it is firsthand. We are there personally at least once a month between guests to make sure everything is in good working order. We listen to our guests. We always ask for feedback after every stay and take your suggestions seriously. We have implemented many guest recommendations over the years which is why our guests return over and over again. We feel vacations should be a time to make family memories, give your relationship an extra spark, and just relax & unwind. At Wil-deer-ness Cabin you can do just that...we take care of everything else!

Why they chose this property

We are originally from a small mountain town and fell in love with West Jefferson. We wanted to offer a beautiful cabin to others at a reasonable price and great value. When vacationing ourselves, we love our privacy which is the main reason we chose the location we did for Wil-deer-ness Cabin. It's close enough to town for restaurants and activities if you want to venture out. But if you want to be completely surrounded by nature and never leave the cabin your entire stay you'll be perfectly happy here.

What makes this property unique

We have stayed at vacation rentals in various areas ourselves and learned from those experiences. Like everyone, we hate packing for vacation and almost always leave something behind. At Wil-deer-ness Cabin, we provide all the bedding, linens & paper products so you don't have to worry about them. A hair dryer is provided so that's one less thing to pack. Plan to arrive late but can't survive without your morning coffee? We provide complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate & more so you have some supplies to carry you over until you can make a grocery store run. What about rainy days? A lot of places may have outdoor activities but if you're stuck inside it's boring. Not at Wil-deer-ness Cabin! We have a full game chest, over 100 DVDs in the DVD library, and Roku streaming devices on each TV. You can even enjoy the porch in the rain since it's covered. The porch is also large enough you can set up the provided bean bag toss game on it and still enjoy an outdoor activity even in the rain. A lot of cabins advertise privacy & we deliver it! There's nothing but trees completely surrounding the cabin. When the leaves are on the trees you can't even see the gravel road you entered on in front of the cabin.
