Why they chose this property
This neighborhood just up the hill from the ocean yet close to town is one of Santa Cruz's best kept secrets; most residents are unaware of our cul-de-sac abutting several walkable, natural habitats. This means there is no traffic; we keep a low profile. The convenient location, birdwatching from the deck (red-winged black birds, hummingbirds, egrets, herons, ducks outside the door) and in several surrounding parks and ocean locations is superb. Walk out the door and enjoy 17 acres of greenery; utilize picnic tables around the pond with open space to read, play, wander without even having to get in a car. The area is protected and well-cared for and is only 5 minutes from cultural entertainment and public activity.
What makes this property unique
Proximity to the Semour Marine Center, Natural Bridges State Park (home of the monarch butterfly en route to Mexico), SC Beach Boardwalk, SC Harbor, private and public beaches, hiking trails, restaurants, cafes, and university events including Santa Cruz Shakespeare, Actors Theater, Jewel Theatre, The Tannery- an artists enclave of studios that feature First Friday and art fairs -, The Living Writers Series, the Dickens Conference, many live music events, lectures open to the public, and more. Friendly neighbors, natural surroundings just up the hill from the downtown museum, music venues, bookstores, cafes, and multiple beaches.
