Mary was a wonderful and easy host. The unit is cozy and warm, perfect to come back to after days out hiking. Place was within easy walking distance of downtown and Mary was gracious and communicative about whatever we needed.

Well appointed apartment that ideally located for all sorts of outdoor adventures. Just steps from the Adirondack rail trail to Lake Placid or Tupper Lake, plenty of nerby hiking including high peaks and lots of varied paddling opportunities. Great hosts mase for an easy stay.

Great place in Saranac Lake

The Nook is as advertised. It's very clean, comfortable and a great location to walk to dinner and breakfast. It's also central for hiking or paddling. Very comfortable and Mary is great to work with.

Great Weekend Retreat

The Nook was a very nice place to stay for the weekend. The bed IS extremely comfortable. The accommodations are roomy and the kitchenette was perfect for waking up to a quiet breakfast. After hiking, the soaker tub was just what we needed. I would highly recommend The Nook!!

IMMACULATE, LARGE APARTMENT

Mary and Kevin were wonderful hosts who were there when I needed help with the TV, while providing me a peaceful, quiet place to relax. The apartment was spacious and meticulously kept. I was looking for a place near the heart of town and not in the woods. This apartment was ideal!

Perfect location

The Nook was perfect for our quick trip to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. A quiet, cozy place to relax and unwind after days filled with adventure and sight-seeing. Everything was within walking distance in Saranac Lake, and a short drive to most of the other destinations we wanted to see! Mary and Kevin were kind and helpful, and happy to have Canadians back at the Nook! We plan on returning next year:)

Adorable apartment

Kevin and Mary were very welcoming hosts. The apartment had everything I needed for the week that I stayed. I prefer to walk to as many places as possible and I was able to walk into downtown in about 15 minutes, including to the wonderful Saturday morning Farmers Market. There is also an inexpensive bike rental directly across the street, accessible using the Movatic app. I am working remotely while traveling, and the apartment was a peaceful environment to work in. The internet connection wasn't optimal, and I did end up going to Nori's (the nearby health food store) to work. I loved walking the rail trail that runs behind the house, and across the street in both directions- into town and to Lake Colby. A lovely stay in a lovely town with wonderful hosts.

Nice clean great stay

My wife and I spent two nights here while on a road trip through Penn and NY. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location is about a five minute walk to downtown Saranac Lake. We walked downtown both nights we were there for dinner. Ate at the Left Bank Café and the Downhill Grill. Both locations were very good. Drove down to Lake Placid while we were there and had lunch at the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery. Also nice. Walked downtown Lake Placid and visited the Olympic ski jump. Make sure you go up to the top. Great views. The Nook is very easy to find via our GPS. As noted this is the second floor location in a house with a business run out of. Private entrance to the steps to get upstairs to the Nook. I felt the size of the unit was terrific for the two of us. Nice breeze through the windows so we did not need to use the air conditioner. While there is traffic on the main street in front of the house, it was not loud or annoying. Granted, we were there in September and not during peak season. The facility was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable for us. Small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker are in the hallway between the living area and bathroom. No stove but not an issue for us as we wanted to eat out each night. We met the owner, Mary, who is very nice. She has provided information on places to eat, things to do and places to visit. If you climb Mt Baker while there, it is an uphill trek but well worth the views. Do not hesitate to book the Nook. It is clean, cozy, in a good location. We felt very safe while there and even during our evening walks to downtown. Thank you Mary for allowing us to stay at the Nook.

Mary and Kevin are great hosts - helpful, knowledgeable, solicitous and unobtrusive. The Nook was spotlessly clean, and comfortable throughout. The very walkable RailTrail being adjacent is a huge plus, and generally getting around town by foot or car is not difficult (but it's the Adirondacks - there are hills). We were looking for just a few days to relax and got them at the Nook. We would stay there again.

Perfect Adirondacks stay

We had a great time staying at the nook. Kevin and Mary were gracious hosts, had plenty of information about things to do nearby, and checked in with us occasionally without being overbearing. The apartment is nicely furnished and equipped with everything you need. It was cozy and comfortable. Not sure we'll ever get to this part of the US again, but if so I would gladly stay here a second time.

The peaceful nature of the facility, special services we can offer, and the convenient downtown location has proven to work well for many guests. It's central location in the tri-lakes region makes it a great hub with easy driving distances for 'much to do and see' in the woods, on the water, or strolls through the town and village. We enjoy sharing our home and meeting people from all around the state, country and the world!

What makes this property unique

The Nook is like home yet a floor below there are holistic services available: yoga and qi gong group or private classes, meditation, yoga therapy, reiki, and sound healing. Check the Inner Quest Yoga & Wellness Center website. Currently, due to COVID, group classes are suspended and three weekday classes are being held virtual via ZOOM.
