Beautiful Lakeside Retreat in Maine

Wonderful stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! An excellent experience with an excellent host! This property is exactly how it is described. Charlie (the owner)is super helpful and communicates well! A must as a place to rent for a vacation at Long Lake! We would definitely rent again at this location.

Fabulous family fun

We had a wonderful time for winter break at Flatrock. We came with our four kids ages 14, 11, 10 & 8 and they were in heaven with the snow, sledding nearby, skied three days and lots of good eats nearby. Everything you need for a fun holiday!

This house was everything I thought it would be and more. The house was clean and had everything in it you could possibly imagine to make your visit run smooth. The owner Charlie was also great to work with. We will definitely be going back for future visits..

Lovely home for 2 families. Excellent weather, the dock and lake couldn't have been more perfect for floating and watching kids jump for hours. Very peaceful and quiet. House was clean, enjoyed eating supper out on the deck in the evenings.

Start to a family tradition!

The weather was perfect and the water was great! Lodging was fine, did some cleaning when we first arrived, plenty of room, nice having a washer and dryer ( had two babies ). Only big bummer was the oven was not working, had to adjust our menu and get creative with a crock pot and the grill with the food we pre-prepared for the week. We all did have a wonderful vacation!

Great Rental Experience, and Beautiful Home

We can't say enough about how great this lake home was for our family. The home itself was well maintained, clean, and fully equipped. We spent the week swimming (it was in the 90s for most of the week), reading in the shade, paddling, playing pool, and even managed to hike Hawk Mountain on the coolest of the days. Charlie was extremely helpful, and provided all the info one could want about the house and the area. We highly recommend this property!

Maine Weekend Reunion

What a great home, fully equipped with everything you need. The house is in a great location with amazing views + Lake access and a fun yard to relax in. The Home is extremely clean, well maintained and the owner provided very good directions as to use of everything inside as well as what to do in the area. The lake is amazing in the early fall with a level of quiet unmatched, I very much recommend taking in a weekend here...Won't be disappointed.

Great stay at Flatrock

We had a great long weekend up I Harrison! It wasn't the warmest weather for boating but we made the best of it. Plenty of room in the house for our party of 8. The house was very clean and neat. Lots of deck space for relaxing and a nice fire pit to cap off the nights. The house had everything you could need from the kitchen to beach towels. The house is located at the end of a road so there's plenty of privacy. Highly recommend Flatrock for your vacationing on Long Lake!

Exactly what we expected from the photos and description listed on the website.

The property was easy to locate, plenty of parking, directions on how to access entry into the property were precise and easy to follow. There were no surprises because all the details were clearly laid out before we arrived. We were pleasantly happy with the cleanliness of the property and the first class amenities. The owner, through his several emails, was extremely kind and made us warmly welcomed. I would highly recommend this property to rent for a family of any size.

Flatrock

Great lakeside property. Lots of room, good applances and kitchenware. We had family and friends staying with us and there was room for everyone. Be advised that one of the upstairs double beds is in the open hallway betwen bedrooms and is a bit less private. A pool table and shiny new washer and drier in the basement were big pluses. Although the weather was rainy, musch of the time, when the sun came out we enjoyed canoeing and swimming off the dock. Great sunsets when weather cooperates!

Perfect Place To Stay!

The owner was very quick to respond to my inquiries and gave clear instructions for arrival day. The place is absolutely beautiful with high ceilings and amazing views of the lake. There’s a lot of room to hang out with the entire family. There are a ton of board games for your use. The kitchen has a lot of cooking utensils, plates, pots, and pans plus tons of spices. We enjoyed the fire pit and relaxing out on the dock. The sunsets are gorgeous from the dock. The owner provided a very detailed listing of things to do in the area. We had fun swimming, golfing at a local course and having some wonderful meals nearby. We will definitely be back!

Charlie was very communicative, clear and instructive leading up to our visit to Flatrock. The property was exactly like the pictures, well-maintained, clean and we were greeted with a bottle of chardonnay and some enjoyable background music. The "Flatrock survival guide" included any and all recommendations for the area. The house had everything necessary to enjoy a weekend away with family and friends (i.e. grill, firewood, full equipped kitchen, large deck, ample seating, etc. etc.) Thanks for the Hospitality!!!!

Just what I needed

My family was gathering in Naples, Maine for a reunion and rather than just rent a hotel for the weekend of the reunion, I decided to rent a house on the lake for a week. Flying all the way in from Texas I wasn’t about to just pop in for the weekend. The house was exactly what I was looking for. Even though it was a little farther up the road from Naples than I originally wanted the drive was easy and the location was peaceful and relaxing. The house was prettier in person than the photos on-line. The kitchen was very well stocked (and even had a crock pot) which was great because we stayed in for most meals. I spent lots of time just sitting on the dock with my book while my mom hung out in the sunroom. We even built a fire in the outdoor fire pit. Charlie was super easy to communicate with as well. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Best views on the lake

The views from the dock are some of the best you'll find period. Sunsets are breathtaking with the sun setting right over Mt Washington this time of year. Charlie is a great host. He was very responsive to questions before and during our stay. The house has an open floor plan with a 2story great room overlooking the lake open to dining and a kitchen with everything you'll need. It was very comfortable and allowed our 2 family party to be together even if some were eating, cooking or just lounging. The pine beams and ceilings set the mood and remind you you're at the lake - it's time to relax! We had a couple of days of downtime due to rain and it was nice that the house has plenty of games and a pool table too. Already looking forward to booking flat rock again for our next trip to Long Lake!

Making Memories

Flatrock was great. This was one of our best vacations. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Charlie was the perfect host providing excellent communication the whole way through with an entertaining sense of humor. He keeps his place clean and well equipped. Water access was great for everyone whether it's the stairs down into sandy entry or diving off the end of the dock. The kids had fun playing pool in the basement. We loved the Sirius XM radio and had it playing all week. The dinner table seats eight comfortably and was great for gamenights. It's a perfect spot half way up the east side of Long Lake, so you get awesome sunsets and views of Mount Washington and being the same distance away from both Naples on the south side and Harrison on the north side made for awesome sunset trips on the boat to get ice cream after dinner. We never really had to leave the house as we had everything we needed to have the most fulfilling vacation and left completely satisfied. Charlie, thank you for making Flatrock available. We'll never forget our time at your wonderful place.

The perfect lake vacation!

The perfect lake vacation! Nice quiet spot halfway down the lake on the east side with the perfect views of the sunset. Beautiful, spacious house. Plenty of room, yet the open floor plan made spending time together easy and comfortable. The lake water was 79° and you could dive and swim in the beautifully clean water right off the dock. We rented a boat and the dock even head whips to secure it, which was great. Easy launching of our kayaks and paddle boards. We could paddle to one of the nearby islands and pick fresh wild blueberries! A quintessential Maine experience! Charlie was incredibly responsive and everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The Flat rock survival guide thoughtfully laid out everything we needed to know about the area. We had an amazing time and would rent here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommended!

Wonderful vacation!

We had a fantastic and very relaxing week at this beautiful home! We all had a blast fishing off the dock, as well as being able to jump in the water right off the end of dock! The property has multiple areas, both inside and out, to sit and relax, which made the home very comfortable. The home's location is perfect for gorgeous sunsets over the lake, and it's located on a very quiet area of the lake. The only night "noise" was from the loons! We cooked frequently during our week here, and between the well stocked kitchen pots/pans/cooking tools and the grill, we had everything we needed. Charlie was a pleasure to work with, and quickly responded to any and all questions I had. It's very apparent that he take pride in his home, and cares about ensuring a good visit. The listing and all communication very accurately represented his home, as do everyone else's positive reviews.

Great Summer Vacation at Flat Rock August, 2017

We found Flat Rock to be a great place for our family vacation. The owner, Charlie, made us feel very welcome upon our arrival. He left us a bottle of wine and fresh flowers in addition to helpful information to make our trip enjoyable! He was a pleasure to deal with. This house has absolutely beautiful views of the lake from every room inside, as well as on the deck, in the back yard & from the dock! The property is private and well maintained and perfect for relaxing on the hammock, playing lawn games, & sitting around the campfire at night! The lake was clear and perfect for swimming and snorkeling around the private beach area. The home is in a great location to enjoy a leisurely canoe ride along the shoreline and also to travel by boat or jet ski to nearby Harrison or Naples to visit the restaurants and shops. The inside of the home was very clean, spacious, open and beautiful and provided all of the amenities we needed as described! We had a perfect vacation week here and will be renting again next summer. We would recommend Flat Rock to anyone looking for a true Maine lake vacation!

Amazing owner - amazing house

I can't give this house enough praise. Everything was amazing - I'll start with the owner: Charlie is an extremely helpful renter. He goes above and beyond to make sure his guests feel welcome and prepared for their trip I can say that we desperately searched for a house to stay at over New Years Eve, and we encountered a lot of difficult and unresponsive owners. Charlie is not one of them! He even sent us a nice itinerary of things in the area beforehand, which was a great touch :) The house - also amazing. The house sits on a beautiful piece of land that overlooks a lake. The lake was frozen over enough so we were able to take a nice walk across it (only recommended in subdegree weather!!!!). There's a lovely view of the mountains as well. The inside is just as lovely. The family room features high ceilings with an open kitchen. There's a pool table in the basement which was a big hit for our friends. There's also a nice area upstairs featuring a futon and small TV. This is a great area to relax if you are looking for some quiet time. Lastly - Charlie had a great handbook ready for us when we entered featuring things to do in the area, FAQ's about the house, ect. Very helpful!! Overall, if you are looking for a place to stay - this is it! I won't ever consider anything else for my New England getaways :) Thank you Charlie for a lovely stay! My friends and I can't thank you enough for such a great weekend!

Perfect Long Lake Vacation Spot!

Flat Rock/Long Lake is one of our family's favorite vacation spots. This past summer was our third time renting and we will be back. The house is beautiful, well-appointed and inviting. The central and open layout of the living and dining space is great for entertaining and invites everyone to join and be together. The kitchen is well stocked with pans, dishes, glass ware and utensils. Everything you need. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The deck is large, outside furniture very comfortable and overlooks a beautiful yard and views of the lake. Flat Rock has one of the best locations on Long Lake. Breath taking sunsets over the Mt. Washington Presidential Range. The overall setting is perfection. The lake is pristine, the views gorgeous, the sounds of the loons mesmerizing, a little slice of heaven! The property is just as described and more. Want to leave the lake? Portland is about an hour away and offers great food, shopping, arts, lots of music, day excursions out to the islands and lots of planned events and festivals. North Conway is about 45 mins travel time for those who may want to shop the outlets. Local Bridgton, just on the other side of the lake, has a quaint downtown for shopping and old time Maine charm. The owner is a pleasure to deal with and has truly put thought and caring in making his guests feel welcomed and comfortable for an enjoyable and stress free experience. I would highly recommend a stay at Flat Rock for families, romantic getaway, and trips with the friends. You will not be disappointed in the least.
