First time visiting PEI and we couldn’t have ask for a more beautiful location. The cottage was so cute, very clean and in a great location. Janet the host was very friendly and accommodating.
I would definitely recommend this little piece of paradise to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation with a spectacular view!
The house is cozy and welcoming. The beds are comfortable. The house is very friendly, she lives next door but respects your privacy, It’s only a short drive
We had the most wonderful stay! Janet was the absolute best, and the home was beautiful with views that were breathtaking. We are already talking about going back!!!
We were attending a wedding in New London PEI and needed a pet friendly accommodation for 5 people. This property was in a great location close to the wedding venue and several great restaurants! The house was clean and well appointed and was as described. We would definitely rent again! Thanks to our host for a lovely accommodation!
Beautiful home and peaceful location, very quiet which was what we were looking for. Place was very clean, had all the utensils for meals at home, amenities are well stocked which ensured a comfortable stay for us.
There's also a fun selection of music and movie DVDs that kept us entertained. Janet is a lovely host we are extremely pleased with our stay. Thanks again!
We had a wonderful stay in this property. Way out in the country away from crowds which we enjoy. Close enough to Kensington, Summerside, Cavendish and Charlottetown. Slept well and everything that you would find at home was provided by Janet. Dog friendly. Thank you Janet.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Janet is very welcoming and nice. You will find everything you need. It was so nice to come back in this quiet place at the end of the day. We will certainly comeback one day.
Warm welcome from Janet . She has all the things you need for your family and more. Peaceful environment, beautiful rolling hillsides. Hummingbirds enjoying her hospitality as well. A must stay while you are in PEI time to unwind from your busy everyday schedules.
Delight country cottage on top of hill. Janet is terrific host and quick help with any requests. She is prompt to respond. Short drive to Cousins Shore beach. View is lovely. Kitchen and living space were a good size for our group.
Hostess met us showed us all around, even wanted to watch our dog while we went out to eat. Very friendly , beautiful grounds, all amenities were there comfortable beds. Only one suggestion it needs a screen door for the front door so you can leave it open and let breeze flow through, just a thought. Would definetly stay again and recommend it to anyone.

Overall, a nice cottage for the price
While we enjoyed this cottage, it should be noted in the ad that the cottage is actually ATTACHED to to the owners house and shares a driveway. The owner was lovely but we did not appreciate the lack of privacy.

This quaint property is located on an idyllic piece of property within 5 kilometers of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. An easy distance for sigh-seeing in all directions and groceries and other necessities available close by as well. Janet is the perfect host; instantly available when needed but otherwise discreetly in the shadows.
A-MA-ZING stay! You will find everything you need and be able to relax after a great day at PEI. The owner house is next to this one, but you won't even know it. Janet was great and she even allow us to send her some stuff we will need during our stay. Our dog is anxious and felt like home there! You won't regret to book it.. actually, you will regret to miss this opportunity!
I've wanted to come to PEI since I was a little girl and I adored this cabin! It is so beautiful and very in theme with the nature of this beautiful island place! The linens, colors, art, dishes, coziness is all top notch. We loved having this refuge to return home to after exploring. The kitchen and bathroom were well appointed and we felt very at home. The views and gardens are beautiful. I wish we could have stayed longer! Janet was a wonderful host and very welcoming. My one piece of advice for travelers is to coordinate arrival time and check in instructions before you get to PEI (signal isn't always the best on all the roads on island). Will absolutely be back to PEI and hope to stay here again!
Great location to explore PEI's North shore and walks
My wife and I stayed at Janet’s Irishtown cottage for two weeks in June 2023 and have been coming to this area for many years. Janet was a welcoming host, living next door but one would not know it. She kept the humming bird feeders on our veranda filled so we might enjoy their aerial antics. The cottage is off the main road and is quiet and peaceful with only distant road noise. The house is of recent construction and all the facilities work well. We liked the full-length bath and the three bedrooms that allowed family to visit. Cell phone coverage in the area is not great but useable. Janet is a keen gardener and there are views over her gardens to the large grass field to the north and the sea. The site exposure to winds keeps the bugs at bay. We hope to be back again.
We loved staying here! When we arrived, Janet was there to welcome us and she made us feel right at home. She is such a wonderful host - whatever we needed, she was more than willing to help! We had a wedding to attend and she was more than happy to take care of my mother's dog.
The cottage was clean, bright, airy, spacious and comfortable. It was perfectly decorated with beachy themes. The cottage was equipped with everything that you would need. Washer/Dryer, games, appliances and cookware, utensils and dishes for food prep and lots of towels! There was a large loft space with adjacent master bedroom with a restful reading nook.
The location was within 5 mins of the beautiful Cousin's Shore Beach and 7 mins to Kensington, which is much quieter than other areas on the island. There is a bakery - Willow bakery...YUMMMMM! 20 mins to Cavendish if you want to check out the amusement scene and only about 25 mins to the bridge.
We will be booking again. It was the perfect escape that you are looking for!
Like coming home, if home was a cottage in paradise
I don’t know how else to say it: arriving at Janet’s beautiful cottage felt like coming home. My family arrived later than we planned, but Janet stayed up late to meet us. The cottage was warmly lit and beautifully furnished. Everyone fell fast asleep in their fresh and cozy beds. In the morning, my husband drove 15 minutes into Kensington to Willow Bakery & Cafe for delicious baked goods and coffee. All the necessary amenities are within a few minutes’ drive, including grocery, take-out, and gas.
The location is great! We spent most of our stay exploring the various LM Montgomery heritage sites. That said, so many other outings are accessible from this lovely home! We saw three lighthouses and two beaches, including Cousins Shore Beach. We spent a day at Covehead Light and the adjoining beach, located in a national park.
Because of all the beach days, I was glad to have access to a washer and dryer. A fully equipped kitchen meant that my family could make light meals in the home. A large full bathroom was more than enough for my family’s purposes. The home also had board games, books, and a pair of terrific binoculars that we used on the second floor balcony to enjoy the view.
About the view: it is spectacular! The sunsets are colorful, the rolling countryside is so romantic, the moody ocean spreads along the horizon, and the hummingbirds simply adore the front porch. Some days it was hard to leave the house because it was peaceful and beautiful! Can’t wait to return!
After arriving I had to go out and purchase cleaning supplies and start cleaning. Not what I intended to do on holiday and after paying the kind of money we payed. The place smelled like dog. The windows were never cleaned. There was leftover bottled & packaged food in the cupboards and fridge. Theres a leak under the bathroom sink because when i went to pull out a towel it was wet. I also bought my own towels because I didnt feel comfortable using the ones provided. I pulled a bowl out of cupboard and it had dried on cereal in it. The white couch in the livingrm needs cleaning. I purchased bed sheets to put over it so I could feel somewhat comfortable sitting on them. The place is not a cottage on its own, its more like a inlaw suite attached to the owners home. All the bushes in the gardens are overgrown on to the walkway and made it very difficult for me to help my 85 year mother to walk on the patio stones to the entrance. I would never go back!
