VERY CLEAN! Cleaning fee of $110.00 per rental INCLUDED IN RENTAL DAY PRICE AFTER MAY 10, 2024 BOOKING DATES to include hot tub chemical cleaning,, house cleaning, all linens and towels. Lands End bed linens and bath towels, basic toiletries, soaps, paper products, trash bags and 3 starter bundles of dry fire wood are provided w/rental. Fully furnished kitchen and propane gas grill on deck. Beds are dressed and towels hanging. ALL bed linens INCLUDING bed covers/quilts are washed between each rental. Cleaning is provided before 4 PM Check-In and after11:00 AM Check-Out. The house and hot tub are personally cleaned and maintained by the owner. Owner has MD commercial hot tub license

Experience and enjoy the "artsy" Owls Nest, a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin located on a peninsula (with no through traffic) in a peaceful cove with a large private dock, at the western end of the lake with great sunsets. This home is a perfect cozy, romantic getaway for an anniversary or honeymoon or a quiet escape for a small family with children.
lOTS TO DO ONSITE! The Owls Nest has a private outdoor play structure with slide and swing, basketball hoop, frisbee golf, corn hole, games. Stroll our unique "whimsical" outdoor Alice in Wonderland "Storybook woodland Path with its characters, and "Hidden Garden" Frog Path and enjoy the play accessories (Alice DVD's, toys, books). and Maze trail with Beatles pole art. (All may not be available in winter) Enjoy our family hobby of wood carvings chiseled and chain sawed by our family. At the end of the day, dine (rain or shine) under the covered deck, soak in the hot tub, sit in comfortable Adirondack chairs, roast marshmallows at the fire pit, or enjoy the firelight from the indoor propane gas burning stove. Make use of our wood puzzles, games, and DVDs and Smart TVs in every room, WIFI, streaming box connector, and Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition fully loaded with 21 games for a cozy evening.
Fish bass off our deep water private dock or nearby Youghiogheny River. Swim, dock your boat. (Level, large, driveway with space to park boat trailer), bike, kayak, or in the winter, ski, snowboard, or go snow tubing at Wisp Ski Resort located minutes away. There are 4 kayaks, 2 fishing kayaks, 2 canoes, 2 paddleboards, for guest use.
Kayak launcher at our dock. Life jackets available free for your use at the Owls Nest These may be used by guests at their own risk and responsibility. (Or for extra safety, bring your own fitted life jackets, especially if you have children. Life jackets are mandatory at Deep Creek Lake.)

The Great room has an open floor plan, propane gas burning stove, Smart TV, Blue Ray DVD player, comfortable leather queen, and twin sofas . There is a washer/dryer, dishwasher, ice-maker fridge, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, regular and K Cup coffee maker, and outdoor grill with propane gas for cooking and updated bathroom. The house has a heat pump air conditioning, keyless entry, modern bathroom, new sewer, water hook up, and excellent drinking water.

COMMUNITY /AREA DETAILS
Located on the Penelacres Peninsula, one of the best locations on Deep Creek Lake. When ready to explore, you are close to parks - 5 miles from Swallow Falls, 2 miles from Fork Run, 7 miles from Wisp Resort --along with all the other shops, restaurants, and attractions on Garrett Highway. This home comes with free access to the Community Aquatic Recreation Center at the local community college. This fitness and wellness complex, located in the central Deep Creek Lake area, offers a modern gym and a full-size indoor pools. The free gym and pool membership is for 6 people for the duration of your stay. CARC closed April 8-10, 2024, pool closed 8-13, 2024 for maintenance. The Owls Nest is a member of the Garret County Chamber of Commerce.

Owls Nest Cleaning fee of $110.00 per rental INCLUDED IN RENTAL DAY PRICE AFTER MAY 10, 2024 BOOKING DATES so AFTER MAY 10, 2024 we now include AFTER MAY 10, 2024 BOOKINGS DATES ALL FEES for providing linens and towels, cleaning of house and hot tub chemicals in nightly fee. (Note all linens including quilt coverlets and blankets, pillow covers are cleaned BETWEEN ALL rentals and the Owls Nest continues strict Covid cleaning protocols.)

VRBO collects 6% Maryland Tax + 8% Garret County Local Room Tax =total of 14% tax.

Please note that DNR allows docks on lake after April 1 - December 1. Dock is in place for summer after April1 and removed during November. Dates for installing and removal are DEPENDENT ON WEATHER. All docks must be removed by December 1 at Deep Creek. Our kayaks and canoes can still launch year round from our shoreline weather dock in or not.

Disclaimer: The Owls Nest driveway and Penelacres peninsula access road are both flat and paved. The roads and driveway is plowed but 4WD & AWD or snow tires are recommended for the area during the winter months of November - March. Email us for more information.
