The apartment is located in a beachfront complex with access to a pool and the beach. We Familt with two children) stayed and use Marie-Therese services and she kept the apartment clean and cooked good local meals for us.

The location is very good...

The location is very good! it is not in the main village center and this is a big advantage, you can go out and nobody will disturb you. The beach is clean and very oftern we been along in the ocean! Villa is exelent and just on the coast. I would recomemend this location also because many beaches on the sally coast are full of big rocks, like on the coast, as well as in the sea, some beaches, even next to the residences are used by Dakar residents during the weekends and you would not be able even enter the water, the beach and water next to the coast are full of them. Here we been saved from such situations. You can walk just 300 meters and there will be a hotel with all amenities. The driver Camara, which will be recommended by the owner is exelent, he will show you a lot of interesting places, which I am sure, we would not see without him. His Pajero is perfect in savana and prices are resonable

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. It was very sparse. No cleaning soap for dishes. We had to purchase our own toilet paper and every single cooking supply. We also had to pay a 60,000 deposit upon arrival in addition to paying for water and electricity. We also had to pay an Additional 6,000 for the place to be cleaned after we left. None of this was specified prior to paying for the stay. It was only told to us a couple days before our stay when a contract was emailed to us. I’m not sure what we payed for up front when all these additional charges were also added in the end. The pool is a shared pool but was nice. There is no slide. Overall, the stay was basic, it was close to the beach and had a nice community.

Je suis très surprise de votre retour, qui ne correspond pas du tout au retour habituels des locataires. Je pense que sur place il y a eu une mauvais communication avec la personne qui s'est occupée de votre accueil peut-être en raison de la langue. Il y a beaucoup de choses à disposition dans les placards. Toutes les précisions sur le séjour sont claires mais c'est parfois moins simple quand il s'agit de réservations eu dernier moment. Le toboggan a été retiré pour éviter des incidents avec les enfants, mais la piscine est malgré tout toujours très appréciée.

Local host ruined our trip!

Pros: - The beach is in close proximity, and very relaxing! - The location of the property is great, very close to shops, restaurants, bakeries, etc. Cons: -There are several ants in the toilet/shower sink area. So much so that you have to inspect the seat before use. -the owner of the property (Lydia - who herself is very easy to deal with, and we did not have an issue with) emailed me prior to our stay with additional stay parameters, this included a contract of sorts, and a requirement to pay for water and electricity during our stay. This contract also required a deposit. I strongly believe this should be mentioned on the VRBO listing to prepare guests for all the costs involved in this property. - however the true reason our vacation was ruined was because of the local host (Marie-Therese), who made our stay extremely unpleasant. Upon checking out, she tallied the electricity and water costs - which were over 200,000 XOF, impossible given our stay was three days and we were not in the unit throughout the day (only had the AC on at night in one room). To give you a sense, for an average home in Dakar, the per month cost of electricity (even with an AC), hovers around 20,000 XOF. Through this interaction Marie-Therese yelled, and treated my husband incredibly badly - I am not sure this would have been the case if my husband was not Senegalese. Given we had taken Marie-There’s word on the meter numbers, upon double checking we realized she had gotten the meter reading completely incorrect - our electricity bill came to something like 5000-6000 XOF. She did not own up to this, and was extremely rude, even yelling across the complex when we asked her for change. Although Lydia explained that there was normally another local host - this experience ruined what would have been an otherwise decent trip.

Je suis très surprise de certains points de votre commentaire qui ne reflètent absolument pas les expériences habituelles des autres voyageurs. A la réservation, je vous ai envoyé un contrat de location avec toutes les particularités et détails de la location. Comme sur l'annonce il était bien spécifié qu'il fallait payer l'eau et l'électricité suivant le relevé des compteurs sur place, ainsi que le montant de la caution que vous récupérez lors du départ mais vous ne m'avez pas fait retour du contrat, j'ai supposé que tout était clair pour vous, comme il s'agissait d'un séjour que de 3 nuits du 30/12/22 au 02/01/2023. C'est la malchance que la personne sur place ait fait une erreur au niveau du relevé, c'est la première fois qu'il y a un litige, mais tout s'est arrangé après contrôle, et l'erreur est humaine. En ce qui concerne les fourmis, nos logements sont appréciés pour leur propreté, mais au Sénégal, il n'est jamais exclu d'être en présence de petites bêtes liées au climat, mais j'ai plutôt des avis qui indiquent que c'est très propre par-rapport aux normes locales. Je regrette cette mauvaise expérience, je n'ai jamais été confrontée à de telles remarques auparavant.

Entspannter Urlaub

Die Wohnung bietet alles was man braucht, die Küche ist voll ausgestattet. Die Anlage ist sauber und gepflegt und in unserer Reisezeit sehr ruhig. Der Strand ist nah, auch dort ist es nicht überlaufen. Die Menschen sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten einen entspannten Urlaub.

Erholung in einer schönen und ruhigen Umgebung

Meine Familie und ich (Kinder 5J & 9J) haben eine sehr erholsame Zeit in der Wohnung von Mme Roy verbracht. Die war vor und während des Aufenthalts in Saly stets sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung entsprach genau der Beschreibung. Die Kinder haben sehr viel Zeit im Pool verbracht und manchmal auch am Strand (100m von der Residenz entfernt). Der Pool hatte eine ordentliche Grösse, müsste vielleicht etwas öfters gereinigt werden, da die umliegenden Bäume und Pflanzen, vieles hinein schleudern. Danke an Julienne für die leckere Mahlzeiten, die Sie uns zubereitet hat (Das Hühnchen "Yassa" z.B. kann ich nur empfehlen). Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist die Nähe zum Supermarkt, zu Restaurants (einer am Strand), zur Apotheke, Bäckerei und einer privaten Klinik. Dort bin ich gewesen, weil meine Tochter eine Ohrenentzündung hatte. das Personal war sehr freundlich und Behandlung hat optimal gewirkt. Ich würde dieses Objekt definitiv in der Zukunft nochmal buchen.

Agréable séjour à Saly

Nous avons passé quelques jours au calme dans le duplex de Mme Roy. Personnel discret et à l'écoute, apparemment très propre, commodités et commerces juste en face de la résidence, grande piscine dans laquelle on peut vraiment nager... Idéal pour des vacances reposantes.
