Beautiful, beautiful house. Everthing was clean and worked. Downtown Sandpoint 5 minutes away. Master bedroom and shower are exceptional. Has five bedrooms! We had an issue and the property manager came immediately to resolve. Such a good person to work with. This is our third year renting on Pend Oreille and this is our favorite house.
The Farm on the Lake has everything you'll need for a vacation with family and/or friends, including easy access to the lake, walking distance from downtown and plenty of space for everyone inside and outside. We're already looking forward to coming back again!
Beautiful lake home with everything you need....except no blinds in the master suite. Up at 5 am everyday due to no window coverings....ugh.
Climate control was an issue at night.
Every other aspect of this property was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay.
Pros:
- Good location (we walked into town several times)
- Good dock
- Good response from manager to get a bee hive with approximately 1000 bees (orkin guy's estimate) removed from under the deck.
Cons:
- No window coverings in master bedroom. So when the sun rose at 5:30am so did we. Other rooms downstairs had coverings but they were almost sheer so morning light was an issue for all rooms. Also no window coverings in the the family room so glare on TV was severe.
- No use of a closet in the master. It was locked.
- Deck and outdoor furniture were dirty. I bought a hose to clean them.
- Open packages of food (ie half eaten bags of chips) were left in pantry from previous guest.
- Fridge was very dirty. We cleaned it.
- Screens on sliding glass doors were zip tied closed and we were asked not to use them. Given the amount of bugs that meant doors needed to stay closed which required AC.
- AC was programmed to change to 75 at some point mid morning so we'd return to an uncomfortable temp in the afternoon. The thermostat was not programmable without an app so no way to override.
At a minimum we expected a clean house (both inside and out) and window coverings so we could sleep past 5:30am. We were obviously disappointed and would not recommend this house unless the owner addresses the issues above.
We had a very good experience staying for our first time in Sandpoint. The house was a great location and the dock and water were fantastic. The house is very accommodating for a large family. I feels like it needs a deep clean though. Here is a list of a few things that could improve the place:
Lawn furniture- we brought our own camp chairs to sit down on the lawn., cookie type sheet pans (there was 1 very used one) The screen/windows down in the basement bedroom was broken so you couldn't open the window or all the bugs would get in - made the room stay very hot., The staircase railings were not safe at all for our little waking 1 year old. We had to always be on her or she could have easily slipped through them. Everything else was good. Thank you for providing a great family getaway.
Fantastic property right on the waters of Beautiful Lake Pend Oreille.
Smooth check in and the house exceeded expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had plenty of room for my group of friends. Highly recommend visiting this property!

Great family time at The Farm on the Lake
Our family of 9 (7 adults and 2 children) came together for a week of fun and exploration and this home suited us perfectly. Everyone had their own space and the family space accommodated us nicely. The deck views of the lake were some of our highlights with spectacular moon lit evenings and views of the lake. The home was stocked with all the essentials and more. We would definitely recommend this home and the location and hope to return in the future.

Sandpoint Beauty
The home was beautiful, and the perfect size for our family. The views off the deck were magnificent. This was a trip of a lifetime for our family and we fell in love with Sandpoint. The home is in a great location and well kept. The only disappointments were that the dock is full of geese droppings and the owner does not have any equipment to clean the dock off. There is no hose anywhere near the dock to keep the dock clean. It was disappointing sight in the morning while sitting on the deck. We spent way too much time trying to get it cleaned off. The other issue is that the owner has bicycles listed on the website which were not available. Unfortunate seeing it is such a bike friendly town. You can rent them in town but we assumed it would be available at the home as listed on the website.
