Stone Bastide - isolated - Provençal authenticity - pool - views

Character stone country house, secluded on its 6 hectares of scrubland, overlooking the terraces of the old olive grove, at the end of a path of 1km from the main road (car lowered sports abstain).
A haven of peace in the quiet up to 8 people.
Four bedrooms (two double beds and four single beds: very comfortable new bedding). A bathroom with tub / shower, dressing room with sink, a sink in each room of the second floor and two separate toilets. Living room with fireplace (lovely fires in the winter or in the off-season) and office area. Wifi internet. well equipped kitchen and dining room with a large table and 8 seats. The interior of the house has a charm with its floor paved with old floor tiles, exposed beams and Provencal furniture. Its stone walls keep you cool in summer.
Garden room with several tables, large gas grill. Round 7 meter diameter pool with barrier (removable) and alarm. pool beds and chairs. Many terraces depending on the mood of each and shaded areas if we escape the heat.
The beautiful village of Lorgues is 4 km from the house (big market not to be missed on Tuesday morning).
The property is located halfway between Lake St. Croix with the Gorges du Verdon in the North and the French Riviera in the South (45 minutes drive from each side). Many activities await you: windsurfing, catamaran, kayaking, swimming, canyoning, aquarando, via ferrata.
In the immediate vicinity of the house, down the Argens kayak, horseback riding, tree climbing, mountain biking. endless possibilities for hiking (maps and books on site). The famous Thoronet Abbey is 12 km. Cotignac is 20 minutes by car. Many wineries to visit in the area. Provençal market day in the beautiful surrounding villages.

Wonderful place for peaceful &relaxing vacation

We have enjoyed 2 weeks in les Icards and have found a wonderful house located in the most beautiful landscape. The children loved the pool, playing pétanque and visiting many beautiful places for swimming in the nearby rivers . It’s just a perfect place for a relaxing vacation.

Another blissful stay at Les Icards

We have just returned from our fourth 2-week stay at Les Icards in the past 6 years, and I am already daydreaming about returning. The peaceful setting, gorgeous views, fresh and fragrant air, the Provencal light especially in the morning and at twilight, the spectacular night sky, refreshing daily swims in the large and well-maintained pool, morning walks around the large property, which is terraced by innumerable stone walls and is filled with olive trees, pines and even a few fig trees... as well as rosemary and thyme everywhere, lavender blooming in spring and early summer... in short, impossible to imagine a more idyllic Provencal country retreat. The closest village, Lorgues, which is 3 km from the property, has several superb boulangerie- patisseries, each with its own delicious specialties. Visiting the outdoor markets on Tuesday (larger) and Friday (smaller, but to me that's a good thing; lots of incredible locally grown "Bio" produce!) is always a high point of our stay. Suffice it to say that we hope to return to Les Icards on a yearly basis as long as it is humanely possible for us to do so!

Een heerlijke plek om te genieten van de omgeving en duidelijk een huis dat gekoesterd wordt door de eigenaren. Het huis zelf is heerlijk om een hele dag te vertoeven, mede door het fantastische zwembad, maar is ook een goede uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes in de nabije omgeving waar meer dan genoeg is te verkennen.

Long-awaited return to Les Icards

We had stayed at Les Icards for 2 weeks in the summer of 2018, fell in love with it, and returned for another blissful holiday in 2019. So as soon as France re-opened to visitors from the U.S., we made our plans to return to this beautiful and peaceful retreat. Upon our arrival late in the afternoon in mid-June, the aroma of the surrounding lavender, oaks, and pines, and the singing of the cicadas, instantly filled us with an overwhelming sense of well-being. The lovely 3-story stone bastide, with a balcony (one of my favorite features) adjoining both of the main bedrooms, contains everything that we needed for a comfortable and restful stay. Waking up and going outside to breathe in the fresh, cool, aromatic air each morning was something that I looked forward to every day. On the mornings that I did not drive down to the local boulangerie to purchase phenomenally delicious croissants, baguettes and more, I would take advantage of the relatively cool morning weather to take a walk on the extensive property (although I make a point of packing light, I brought my clunky running shoes with me just for this purpose-- those morning walks!) Also- the new swimming pool is absolutely fantastic. Needless to say, we are already planning our return. As I have told many friends-- Les Icards is my happy place! Highly, highly recommended!

Authentique calme et idéal pour visiter la Provence

Une semaine parfaite! Nous étions deux couples avec quatre enfants et nous avons adoré le cadre et le calme de la bastide. Le chemin d accès n est pas évident mais en prenant son temps on y arrive même avec un monospace! La situation est centrale et permet de se diriger vers la côte où l’arrière pays en fonction de l humeur! Pour couronner le tout, propriétaires et gérants sont gentils et attentionnés. Bref, valeur sure, je recommande!

très bon séjour au milieu des oliviers

Perdue au milieu des oliviers, l'arrivée est épique mais permet de créer l'ambiance. Une fois l'objectif atteint, nous sommes seuls au monde !!! et c'est vraiment très agréable et reposant. L'endroit regorge de randonnées et de balades pour les plus courageux. Nous étions en famille avec des enfants de tous les âges, nous avons pu profiter des activités aux alentours et de la piscine pour finir les journées en beauté. Maison très agréable, rien ne manque sauf peut être le micro onde...

Paradise in Provence

This was our second 2-week stay at this absolutely beautiful property, and it again exceeded our expectations. "Idyllic" is the best way that I can describe this peaceful retreat. We swam in the pool every day, read, cooked, enjoyed leisurely dinners outside, gazed at the beautiful night sky, meditated in the hammock, and simply relaxed. The nearby village of Lorgues is lovely. For anyone who has dreamed of renting a house in the countryside of Provence-- this is it! We are now dreaming of returning.
