Best location in Kanab!

The Poppy House, so named for it's golden bricks and bright red roof, has all the convenience, comfort and character you could wish for in a vacation home. The house is located in downtown Kanab, walking distance from restaurants and shops and several local trail heads for hiking. Recently remodeled, the house is equipped with all new paint, flooring, appliances and furnishings.

Upstairs, the house has two bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and one with a queen-sized bed, as well as a full-sized bathroom. The living room has a large flat screen television, complete with Apple TV, Netflix and an enhanced speaker system. The clean, spacious kitchen has been newly outfitted with everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal, including high-quality pots, pans and knives, a coffee maker and tableware for 12 people. The eat-in kitchen has a table that can expand to seat 6.

The downstairs bedroom includes a king-sized bed plus a daybed/trundle with two twin mattresses, and a sitting area with it's own flat screen television, Apple TV and Netflix. The large downstairs bathroom is complete with a shower and jacuzzi tub for soaking after a long hike.

All beds have high quality mattresses, linens and pillows for your home away comfort. Bathrooms are stocked with travel-sized toiletries, including bath salts for the jacuzzi tub. You'll find everything you need for your morning coffee or tea in the kitchen.

One of the biggest perks of staying at the Poppy House is the large, completely fenced in, grassy backyard. It is suitable for pets, kids, volleyball and other outdoor activities. There is a large, shaded patio with a BBQ and outdoor seating for 4. There is even a 'cattery' should you have a cat sleepover from Best Friends during your stay!

The house is equipped with wi-fi, central heat and A/C, washer and dryer and has possible trailer or RV parking in the back yard.

Great location — walk to everything! Excellent amenities — plenty of kitchen toys to use. Really appreciate having full access to garbage bags, dishwasher tabs, tp, etc. also loved that there were Kleenex boxes!!Great stay — highly recommend.

Charming home with space for everyone!

Our three generation family truly enjoyed the Poppy House. The lower level was great for our younger members with a tv and comfy beds. The upstairs gave us some privacy and the kitchen table was perfect for all our meals and board games.This was a great place to build family memories!

We enjoyed our stay. Host was very responsive with questions. Nice central location for the parks and volunteering at Best Friends. At one point we were seven people, and accommodations were a little snug, but we made it work! Thanks for hosting.

The Poppy house is just as listed. Fully stocked with everything you need! We had a small hiccup when we arrived, the house had not been cleaned but once Ginger knew she got the cleaning crew over quickly and they were super apologetic. Even gave us some gift cards to local restaurants for our inconvenience!! Our dogs loved the large backyard and the hot tub was great after our hikes at the National Parks

Nice yard and deck, good location

Loved the large fenced backyard for our pups. We also appreciated the furniture coverings as I am sure the property manager does also. I liked the older, pioneer era, feel of the house although it’s been updated with all the modern conveniences. It’s centrally located near heart of town. We would definitely stay again.

Already thinking about next stay.....

We are a group of 3 middle-aged women staying in Kanab mostly to volunteer at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary - so a good rest is essential. The Poppy House has very comfortable beds, is scrupulously clean and has a wonderful lawn in the back with a patio where you can read a book or host a few friends. The appliances seemed new and worked really well. The kitchen is well-appointed, so you can cook a meal when you want to, although the Poppy House is within easy walking distance of several restaurants. I will gladly stay there again when I feel the itch to visit Best Friends again.

Wonderful House in Perfect Location

We had a wonderful time at the Poppy House. We were in town to volunteer at Best Friends, but it also happened to coincide with the Balloons and Tunes festival and we were just half a block away from the fair. The house was very cozy and warm through some cold nights and snowy weather (seriously, I wish our windows were as good as the windows here!) and perfectly stocked for everything we needed. Everything in town is about 5 minutes away and less than 10 minutes to Best Friends. We were planning to bring an overnight dog home with us from Best Friends and let Ginger know ahead of time. When we got there, the house was already prepped with covers on the couches and a nice bench with blankets and things for the dogs. Overall we had a great time and hope to stay again in the future. Thank you Ginger for all your help and consideration during our stay!

Perfect Location - Quiet and Scenic

This home was perfect for us! The location is in a quiet neighborhood and close to the parks, hiking trails, and attractions we wanted to visit. Communication with the owner was on point - including a last-minute message that might change how we packed. The large, fenced yard was great for our family and our dog. The beds were comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well-stocked for preparing our own meals. We would definitely recommend this to family and friends, and we will stay again when in the area. Kanab Gem!

A wonderful cottage a short walk to Downtown Kanab. Quiet neighborhood. HUGE grassy fenced backyard that our 2 pups totally enjoyed! The Poppy House has the most complete House Guide we have seen to date. Every question answered, tons of info on sight seeing, hiking, restaurants, etc. We brought our own firepit with us (approved by owner) and enjoyed our evenings under the stars. A lovely neighborhood with ZERO light pollution. We will keep this one our short list so we can stay again if we get back to this area. Thank you Ginger for sharing your Poppy House!!

We became enchanted with Kanab on our first visit in 2011, and have returned twice a year since then. We love working at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, hiking on the local trails and we enjoy the friendliness of the small town.

What makes this property unique

This golden brick home located two blocks from downtown has all the character of a solidly built older home, with the comfort and convenience of a new remodel. The shaded and spacious fenced back yard is perfect for entertaining, playing or hosting your pets or sleepover animals from Best Friends. The town pool, tennis courts, skate park, sports courts and a beautiful park are just two blocks away for summer enjoyment, and several local trail heads are within 1/4 to 1/2 mile away for walking, hiking or running.
