The Garvey guest house in Ventry was perfect for our needs. Great location for exploring.
The Garveys are very good hosts. Our stay there was a highlight of our trip.

Joan was lovely and the accommodations met our expectations. It was great value for the rental fee. My family especially enjoyed the sunroom with the large table which was used every night for games. It was great to be able to explore the Dingle peninsular without dealing with the crowds and distraction of Dingle town. Paidi O Se’s restaurant down the road was perfect to share good food with the locals.
The cottage is tucked away in Ventry with sweeping views of pastures and the bay. The owner lives next door and was helpful in suggesting places to visit, and in answering our many questions about the area. We'd love to return.
Good location, beautiful view.
there is a lot to do in Dingle and Ventry. Joan is very sweet. b
Best thing about the house is the fireplace. You can get timber or coal from the local shop and enjoy a rainy afternoon with a book and afire.
Lovely host, lovely views. Don’t pass on the recommended walk to the water—stunning cliff sides. And if it’s August, keep your eyes out for blackberries!

Great views
Need for coin@ to get heat, could use a good cleaning, sewer gas smell in bathroom.
What a beautiful place to stay. Everything you need is there in the cottage. The views are to die for.
Joan was very helpful on our arrival and was on hand if required.
I e already recommended to my friends and family
Lovely place in Ventry. Spacious and well equipped. All beds were double/full. It was just 2 of us so it worked well. Cafe across the road is closed Monday and Tuesday so we only able to go once- it was delicious. Joan, owner, has lots of recommendations and is delightful. Pay electric and heat was an easy thing to navigate. Our trip in late July only used 9 including doing some laundry. Great find!
Not having a sat nav and the Celtic museum, a vital landmark to finding the farm entrance, now a private residence we had some trouble locating it. Easy walk via footpath to the beach and very good local P.O. shop a few kilometres away. Joan was available if needed and it was nice being next to a working farm.

Joan, the host, is a lovely older lady who really needs to find a better housekeeping solution. The property and furnishings are very old to the point of being uncomfortable. It was quite musty, but got better. Or we got used to it. Potential guests should also be aware before you actually book that you have to pay for your electrical use other than hot water in the shower.
The host Joan is Amazing! She is so welcoming and helpful any time you need it. Goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good stay and know how to get around to all the sites. The house is very simple but comfortable and clean. Not priced like a newer fancy house either so i think its a great value for the price. Plenty of walking in the hills and down to the beach without having to drive anywhere, but also not too far from town if you want to hit a pub for a beer and a meal or go for some shopping. Highly recommended!
Joan is a joy -- very pleasant and helpful. The cottage is charming and private but convenient to Ventry and Dingle and just off the lovely Slea Head Drive. It's a nice stroll to the beach. There are equestrian options nearby, too.
Please note to bring plenty of 1€ coins as utilities are metered to ensure we each cover our own costs (which is fair and encourages economizing). The kitchen is nicely equipped for those of us who enjoy cooking. U would start here again when i return to Dingle Peninsula in future.
We had a wonderful time staying in Ventry. We went to the grocery store in Dingle and were able to have several meals at the cottage during our stay.
The quality of the cookware wasn't great, and the sheets and linens were a bit tired, but the beds were comfortable and we had no major complaints.
I had read previous reviews about needing coins for the power, but Joan had it prefilled with 10 Euro, so that bought us some time if we hadn't brought any coins with us. We did need to leave it with 10 Euro in the meter before checking out.
A few things that would have made it better - a larger cutting board, better knives and a nonstick pan, but most houses we stay in seem to be the same in terms of cookware quality, which is understandable. Also, there were no paper towels or tissues, so we had to buy some.
Overall this was a great place for our family to stay, with easy access to the Slea Head road for drives to local sites and to the beach.
This cottage was just what we were looking for. We loved waking up to those views from the sun-room and having breakfast there. The beds were a little outdated and tough but we found that a lot in Ireland. It could use some cleaning but for the price it didn’t bother us. Heat and electricity cost us around twenty euro for the three days. It was great having a washer and dryer. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Dingle at Joan’s cottage.
True experience of the Irish countryside. Lovely view, comfortable accommodations, away from the hustle and business of the city, but not too far.

Quaint cottage
Host was friendly. House needs updating as it is tired, dusty. The house was neat but needs a thorough cleaning behind beds and hidden places.. I don't believe there was any mention of having to pay to keep electric and heat on until after we booked. This could be mentioned in the ad beforehand. The water view is much further away than expected. Once again the host was friendly just cottage is tired looking.
