About this property
Stunning Kea home with spectacular open views of the sunset and Vourkari bay.
A mere breath away from Athens lies the seductive island of Kea where this comfortable house is located. Set in an elevated position, overlooking the bay of Vourkari it enjoys sea views and directly faces the sunset. A comfortable island home with all the modern concessions. The house faces the sunset and on any given summer night the bay is filled with visiting sailing and motor boats, their small lights sparkling on the still bay of Vourkari making it one of the most picturesque of island sights.
Less well known among the Greek islands of the Aegean archipelago the island of Kea is a sleepy little gem of 3,000 inhabitants full of ancient ruins, chapels, coves, tavernas and quaint harbours. In Kea's crystal blue waters lies the wreck of the Britannic, sister ship of the Titanic. It's a preferred favourite destination for diving enthusiasts. Kea is also home to a variety of hiking trails, oak tree forests and secluded beaches. The capital, Ioulida is not on the coast - a precaution against marauding pirates in less lawful times. Situated in a natural amphitheatre in the mountains, Ioulida is a vertical town of stegadi buildings which seems to have grown organically into and out of each other. Narrow alleyways run though residents' homes as the contours take them.
The house is laid out on 3 levels, with the ground level incorporating the sitting room and open plan kitchen, double doors leading to a balcony with a dining table and a sitting area and another set of double doors leading to the pool, dining table for 10, bbq and large cushioned sitting area. The upper level comprises of one double bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a large private balcony. The lower level houses the master bedroom with its own dressing room adjacent to the en suite bathroom and a further 2 bedrooms and a bathroom are also located downstairs. All 3 lower level bedrooms have French windows allowing access to the lower garden area where a trampoline is located near by.

Why they chose this property
Ideally positioned above the beautiful bay of Vourkari, this house has all the comforts of a modern home but with the touch of real Cycladic feel to it. Build out of stone, it has all the features of an island home and privileged views across the archipelago, often the lights of the distant capital can be seen shimmering at night.
What makes this property unique
A ideally positioned and tastefully house on a largely unspoilt island. Ideal for families. Guests can also rent a boat or sailing boat and keep it in the small marina below the house.
