Welcome to the beautiful and serene Tahoe Donner recreation area.

Our expansive multi level home is a dream for entertaining and is close to everything in the Truckee & Lake Tahoe region.

Imagine being just a short drive up the hill from the entertainment and dining mecca of Downtown Truckee, while remaining peacefully isolated in the beautiful wilderness that Tahoe Donner has to offer.

Step inside Edelweiss Tahoe to find hardwood floors, multiple living areas and sleeping spaces spread throughout the home for maximum privacy and capacity for the entire family or group to spend time together.

The private backyard space opens to the forest behind the home and features a manicured lawn, entertaining patio, 6 person hot tub spa, cocktail bar and barbecue.

The large main living room has ample comfortable seating, contains an HDTV gathering area, and is directly adjacent to the main dining table, bar area and kitchen which allows everyone to spend time together and relax.

The sound system pumps out rich musical backdrops while the wonderful natural light pours in from the large windows throughout.

Additionally, there are 2 more living spaces (one of which also has a large HDTV and Foosball table) to allow kids and different groups to spread out and relax in privacy.

The main floor master is well isolated from the other spaces as is the 2nd floor VIP King suite above the connected garage. Both feature private spa inspired full bathroom facilities so everyone can prepare for a wonderful evening on the town, afternoon on the lake, day on the slopes or morning on the course.

Also included with rental of Edelweiss Tahoe is full access to the comprehensive recreational benefits offered by the Tahoe Donner Homeowners Association facilities. Private lakefront access and amenities on nearby Donner Lake include a beach area, boat launch, restaurant, pool, boat rentals and more. Also included is access to the 11 court Tennis complex, golf course and fitness facilities (fees do apply for certain activities).

Whether you’re here to take in all the outdoor activities or just relax in the hot tub at the house, there are literally dozens of ways to delight in the wilderness relaxation afforded at our Edelweiss Tahoe home and the spectacular surroundings.

Our host, Richard, was kind and very responsive. His home was beautiful and just “as advertised”. Clean, warm, well provisioned, and comfortably accommodated 7 adults and one 1.5 year old. Close to both cross country and downhill skiing. 5 stars and the way around.

Great Place to Stay at Tahoe-Donner

Perfect location in Tahoe-Donner and great lay-out of house for privacy of different couples/families. Nice to have 3 different areas to gather, converse, watch TV and play games. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The location is great as it is about a 7 min drive from downtown and close to the grocery store Safeway. The neighborhood is nice and the cabin was beautiful! Modern furniture and we loved how there were separate living/play areas around the house. Would definitely stay here again!

We had such a great stay! Owner was really communicative and helpful. House was clean, large, incredibly well stocked. Beds were comfortable, linens fluffy, hot tub on point. We had a wonderful stay here. Home is beautiful and large enough for three families to spread out. Loved the kids play room with foosball table and games. When we walked in we were so thrilled with the overall spaciousness of this beautiful home. Top quality appliances and furniture, very well taken care of down to the last detail. The house was well stocked and we did not want for anything since all was supplied and the deck and hot tub were a big hit. There is no doubt we cannot wait to return to this lovely home.

Beautiful home, tons of space, well stocked, and all of the amenities. This was a great choice for our family for a weekend with the grandparents and aunts. Plenty of space so people can do their own thing: watch movies, read a book, visit, or sit by one of the several gas fireplaces. Huge kitchen that was stocked with everything you need. Tons of games, foosball, and a hot tub. Plus, it's in a great location. We would definitely return.

This house was fabulous! There were 3 families, and we had plenty of room. We loved the town of Truckee, and spent time on Donner lake, it was pretty warm in the house during the day, but opened the windows at night and cooled off pretty quick. Richard was wonderful to work with and we would book again. My husband and I have a MotorHome and Richard was kind enough to let us park in the driveway while we enjoyed the house with our kids and grands. Thanks again for sharing your house with us!! Outstanding house, outstanding host

Each summer we rent a house in Tahoe with two other families for two weeks. We have kids who do a day camp in Tahoe together. This is the best house we have rented to date. It was very well situated for three families as there were lots of separate areas to maximize privacy and facilitate different activities happening simultaneously. I have never rented a better-appointed house, especially in these COVID times where you can hardly find salt and pepper in a rental property. The real stand-out though was the host who was so communicative, kind and very generous when we had a bit of a damage snafu and just generally throughout our stay. I hope we get to stay at this property again as I only have wonderful things to say about it.

Wonderful Home

We’ve been a several properties in the Tahoe Donner neighborhood. This is probably the best so far. The home is clean and super “homey”. Richard was gracious and very communicative throughout. There are family photos throughout upstairs and it’s a reminder that it’s a special place to the owners. Accordingly, we did our best to respect the place. There are plenty of cooking utensils and a ton of space, 3 living rooms and 4 bedrooms. Our little ones ran around with plenty of legroom. They built a snow fort and snowman in the backyard and it was a blast all around. We will be back for sure!

We're a family of 5 with 3 boys from the Bay Area. We all have a love of skiing and the outdoors, which makes Tahoe Donner an ideal destination for us as there's something for everyone.

Why they chose this property

The setting of the Edelweiss property was just perfect and we knew it right when we first saw it. Perched on a hillside it gets wonderful natural sunshine and features a flat driveway entrance from the street which is ideal in the Winter.

Great privacy is afforded on most sides of the house which makes our home a warm and inviting spot to relax with family and friends.

What makes this property unique

The house is just up the hill from the Interstate so access is very convenient and everything in Truckee is close, as are all the Tahoe Donner facilities. The lake, skiing, hiking and great dining options are all just quick hop away.
