Canal Saint Martin in the footsteps of "Hotel du Nord"

Be seduced by our apartment ideally located overlookingf the Canal Saint Martin, in the 1990's reconstructed building on the site of the mythical Hotel du Nord, whose façade has been preserved.

It is located on the 1st floor with access secured by a digicode and an intercom.

You'll love this flat crossing, modern, and atypical, tastefully equipped and comfortable. Very pleasant to live, it includes a large living room (living room, dining room and open kitchen) giving Southwest on the channel, a room looking northeast on a terrace garden flowers and trees and a bathroom in marble with shower, washbasin and toilet.

This apartment has all the comforts: kitchen (oven and microwave, plate hob induction, dishwasher, washing machine and dry linen, refrigerator and freezer, Nespresso coffeemaker); dining room can accommodate up to 6 people, room with a large bed (160 x 200) equipped with two electric relaxation bed; lounge chairs Stressless relaxation and a sofa bed for two people sleeping.

You can enjoy Wi - Fi access to high speed broadband (fiber optic), over 200 TV channels, and free phone to 100 countries.

The apartment is located in a lively booming, young and trendy neighborhood. It also has a garden to share.



For optimal comfort, the sheets and towels are provided and there is a parking possibility. You can also rent bikes.

On-site you will find all the necessary ingredients for a Parisian breakfast.

A welcome cocktail will be offered, with a bottle of champagne.

Great apartment for 2

Property was in a nice neighborhood with restaurants any which way you looked. Roughly a 35-40 min walk to the Seine, and close to the metro if you want to ride the subway. It is cozy but plenty of space for 2 adults. We really enjoyed staying here.

Great stay near Canal St Martin

We stayed at this property for 10 nights and loved it. The apartment had all of the amenities, offered comfortable accommodations and was well located to enjoy the Olympics or see the many sites Paris has to offer. Marie met us there and was very helpful in answering the few questions we had. We had a great time and would strongly recommend this rental!

Beautiful and convenient apartment

We loved this apartment in a very vibrant, somewhat boho neighborhood. It is an easy location, near 2 train stations and 3 metro stops, with a beautiful view overlooking the canal. Many restaurants and grocery options within 2 blocks. Marie’s apartment is well fitted out, especially the kitchen, and very clean and spacious. A very good vale for money. Marie is a responsive host. We would gladly stay again and have recommended this apartment to a family member.

Stay here every year when I come to Paris: lovely well appointed and maintained apartment in a nice neighborhood, filled with multiple small restaurants. Quiet building, no smoking! Very nice shared garden and terrace. Marie is a great hostess, very friendly and gracious.

Second time I have stayed here, lovely apartment, conveniently located near small shops and restaurants. Beautiful, peaceful home

This property is gorgeous. The host has put so much thought and effort to ensure that the house has everything you could possibly need. We loved our stay here. The location is just perfect; with access to everything you’d want to see and do. The host reached out to alert us to issues at the train station because she knew we had planned to travel out of Paris that day. We appreciated her thoughtfulness.

Beautiful apartment in a very interesting neighborhood

The apartment and facilities are very modern and well maintained. The location is off the tourist path, and in the middle of a neighborhood, on both sides of the canal, that repays exploration. At the same time, it is a short walk to République, the Gare de l'Est, and other transportation, making it a very convenient place to stay.

Lovely apartment with incredible garden terrace!

This was such a great sunlit apartment with an incredible huge garden terrace. I could start the coffee, walked 50 feet, get our morning pastry and have breakfast in the garden. The owner was so easy to work with. You’ll be lucky to be able to rent this apartment if it’s available!!

Excellent experience

This very comfortable, very clean and well equipped apartment was the perfect homebase for our nine day vacation in Paris. It’s a great neighborhood with an easy walk to a metro station, and lots of very good restaurants. The owner was extremely gracious, providing delicious bread, milk, juice, jam, even champagne! She was also readily available to greet us, and to provide advice when we had questions. We could not have asked for more!

Wonderful place to stay in Paris!

We loved Marie's apartment. It was so comfortable for 4 people, and is located in a really great neighborhood (10th arrondisement - Canal St. Martin). Marie as mentioned in all the previous reviews is a gracious, thoughtful host. I think she must think of every detail to make her guests comfortable. Having experienced a couple days of the awful heatwave that hit France, we were so grateful for her mobile air conditioner which definitely helped! I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful apartment - Awesome location!!

This apartment is beautiful, centrally located and right next to picturesque canal. The apartment has lovely hardwood floors, a kitchen with washer and dryer as well as a full size dishwasher. We are a family of four and had plenty of room. Lovely full sized windows look out onto the street where we saw many bicyclists riding with fresh bread in their baskets - in other words it is Paris as you dreamed it would be. Found lots of great restaurants nearby and a few blocks walk takes you to the metro. Marie is a fantastic host and makes you feel at home with champagne and treats waiting for your arrival.

Wonderful lodging and location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spotless and comfortable with no clutter, lots of open closets and drawers for our gear, and plenty of space to spread out. Very roomy for a Paris apartment. The kitchen is very well appointed, and the living room furniture was extremely comfortable after a long day of walking. The adjustable bed is newer with nice linens, and is on the firmer side. The brasserie downstairs is convenient for a quick bite, and most nights wasn't too noisy in the apartment. The location can't be beat--so many great shops and restaurants nearby, plus proximity to several Metro stations. Marie is a lovely host with clear, easy, prompt communication. She made us feel welcome and comfortable in her lovely home. We are so happy we chose this apartment for our 10-day stay.

Our Stay at Quai de Jemmapes

Marie, our host, met us on arrival, and was very helpful with everything. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable , especially the kitchen which was fully equipped, unlike a lot of French kitchens. Opposite the canal, it is a lively neighbourhood, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. We really enjoyed the enclosed beautiful garden just outside of our bedroom- a very tranquil spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Marie texted us several times to see how we were doing,which was very sweet of her. It is only a five minute walk to Gard de L’Est, to catch the Metro, train or bus. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful Paris Stay

We very much enjoyed staying at Marie‘s house for a week. The rooms, furnishings, and appliances within the home were very nice. The back patio is also beautiful with many blooming plants this time of year. We were able to do everything we wanted to in Paris and will always look back with fondness on our time there. I traveled with my wife and two young adult daughters. One thing I liked was there were hardly any tourists in this portion of the city this time of year. We would love to return sometime. We did come back quite late on Friday night and there was a party going on next-door that played music for a while, but they finished up and became quiet later… about what I would expect when living in a real life Paris or other big city apartment. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Excellent Apartment and Host for a Parisian Experience

Marie’s hosting and her apartment were the foundations of our special month-long Parisian experience. It was truly a “home” away from home. Marie was responsive, helpful, and attentive to the details for a very comfortable stay. The well-appointed, spacious apartment provided everything as described and beyond – allowing us to settle in right away, including quick first meals in the back rooftop garden. The apartment was well stocked to address any needs that may arise. The apartment is surrounded by a vibrant, diverse community with access to all the amenities you need within walking distance. There are many excellent cafes and eateries to sample. The Hotel du Nord location is atmospheric and reflects the interesting history of the area around the canal. There are even jazz clubs every weekend (during our early summer stay) that complemented the history of the area. The Saint Martin Canal is a great community to live in and provides many opportunities for slow-paced walks and picnics, to long interesting routes for daily runs. It was hard to leave after our month-long stay! We would definitely return to this apartment for this experience again.

A lovely Parisian pied-à-terre

My husband and I could not have had a better home base for our week in Paris than this rental! The apartment was clean and bright, and had everything we could have wanted, including fresh bread from a nearly well-known boulangerie. And now we want to buy some new kitchen appliances because we liked hers so much! We loved exploring Paris during the day and then coming back to relax at the apartment. We enjoyed evenings sitting by the canal with a bottle of wine, or dining in the cafe Marie suggested a couple of blocks away, or dining at the Hotel du Nord, right next door. I thought the canal was even more picturesque than the photos portrayed. We spent some time in the more well-known areas of Paris, and it was such a relief to come back to the lively, but not touristy, canal area. Transit via the Metro was a cinch, with several station options and lines nearby. And Marie was so accommodating when our flights were delayed and we arrived 12 hours later than planned, even though it messed up her plans, too. I would recommend this rental without hesitation, and hope I am able to come back again someday!

Very comfortable stay in a great neighborhood

The host Marie is so attentive to every need of her guests, and most accommodating. We enjoyed a week's stay at the spacious apartment on the first floor (up one flight). Marie welcomed us in person with champagne and treats, and assisted us with some reservations we were unable to book from the US in advance. We discovered that the lift was not working, but other than one trip up and back with heavy bags, this was not an issue for us. Hopefully that and the dishwasher will both be fixed for the next lucky guest, we will gladly return when next in Paris if we can. Book early! Some details: the kitchen is extremely well equipped, the lounge chairs are very comfortable as is the large queen bed. There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom and while A/C is offered we needed none in May. Insider tip: there is a wonderful 2-hour cruise from Canal St Martin to the Seine that departs directly across from the apartment daily, book through Canauxrama. It traverses 3 locks on the Canal, and you end up at the I’lle di Citi where you can begin your sightseeing walk! There are great neighborhood groceries, cafes and restaurants nearby and not a tourist in sight!

I appreciate life in Paris and between my trips to shows or expos, I go back home with much satisfaction and well beeing . tIn its large volume, I feel good. It is very comfortable, with his electric sleeping and relaxation armchairs. And it has all the facilities you could want.
