Maison familiale avec une ùme et des trésors dans chaque recoins. Située au calme, trÚs bien équipée pour de grandes familles. Le temps était pluvieux et humide, une petite heure de climatisation 'air chaud) a suffi à enlever l'humidité de la maison. Les salles de bain bien que petites restent fonctionnelles. Nous avons passĂ© une trĂšs bonne semaine dans la villa Mara. Elle est situĂ©e dans un petit village trĂšs agrĂ©able aux abords de Sintra. La cĂŽte est Ă  peine Ă  5mn de la maison dont le trĂšs joli village d’azenhas do Mar. L’emplacement de la maison nĂ©cessite une location de voiture mais tout est rapide d’accĂšs (toute la cĂŽte entre Cascais et Lisbonne). C’est un bon compromis si par exemple on veut visiter Lisbonne (30-40mn) tout en Ă©tant au bord de la mer. La maison est trĂšs agrĂ©able et bien agencĂ©e. La piscine est bien entretenue. Catarina qui nous a accueilli est trĂšs sympathique et trĂšs disponible dans la moindre requĂȘte.

Un séjour parfait!

Excellente communication et rĂ©activitĂ© avec l’agence. Quartier trĂšs calme en dehors de l’agitation du centre ville, parfait pour se reposer. Plage Ă  proximitĂ©. Climatisation trĂšs apprĂ©ciĂ©e. TrĂšs belle piscine et extĂ©rieurs sympas. Le plus, les services de la femme de mĂ©nage et du pisciniste! Un sĂ©jour parfait!

We had a nice stay in Villa Mara. The hosts are responsive and helpful. The house is uniquely decorated in traditional style and has a nice garden and a barbecue. It is comfortable with all amenities, though somewhat dated. The surrounding Sintra area is beautiful for hikes, car required.

We spent two weeks at villa Mara in July. The villa was very nice and well equipped. The outdoor area was also lovely. It was fantastic that Janas village was only 5 min walk – great coffee shop, supermarket, restaurant, baker and butcher. The location is ideal both for the nearby beaches, with excellent restaurants, and also for exploring the sights in Sintra. The villa manager was also extremely helpful.

Villa agréable

Villa spacieuse, au calme et proche des commerces. Bien située La région est trÚs brumeuse, fraßche et peu ensoleillée . ProblÚme avec la piscine, l' eau jaunit les maillots de bain. Tous les WC sont entartrés. Les sanitaires méritent une rénovation .

This house did not deliver as expected. The cleaning of the house was not good. Half of the sun loungers were partially broken and could easily have been fixed. We had to clean the washing machine and the coffee machine was broken. On top of this we had visits by mice in the kitchen. The owner contacted us to carry out a repair of the A / C, which should have been done before we arrived. When we let them come to carry out the work they did not bother to cleaned up. When we made the owner aware of these things we got a cheap bottle of wine as compensation.

Großes Haus fĂŒr große Familien

Die Fahrt von Lissabon war dank Navi sehr einfach. Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen Straße. Ist gut geschĂŒtzt durch hohe Hecken. Das Mietauto kann innerhalb stehen. Eine große KĂŒche mit allem was mach braucht. Schön wĂ€re, wenn zumindest Streichhölzer fĂŒr den Gasofen da gewesen wĂ€ren. Ansonsten findet man in der KĂŒche nichts von den Vormietern. Großer Tisch innen zum sitzen. Leider ein paar kaputte StĂŒhle. Wir haben uns mit den Terrassenmöbeln beholfen. Die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit hĂ€ngt leider im Haus und in den Möbeln. Wir haben fast nichts in die SchrĂ€nke. Die Kinderbetten waren okay. Ansonsten eher durch gelegene Spannplatten. Den klassischen Lattenrost gibt es nicht. Der Pool wird einmal die Woche gereinigt. Das Haus auch nach einer Woche. Der Kontakt zum Ansprechpartner vor Ort war sehr gut. Geht alles auf englisch und ĂŒber WhatsApp gut zu erreichen. Janas hat zwei kleine SupermĂ€rkte, in den bekommt mal alles. BĂ€cker, Metzger und ein paar Lokale. ALDI und Co sind mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Sintra alleine bietet viele Ausflugsziele und die kleinen Buchten und StrĂ€nde sind ein Traum. Lissabon ist gut ĂŒber Sintra mit dem Zug zu erreichen.

Maison bien équipée mais attention à la météo dans ce secteur

Maison ancienne trÚs agréable, Bien équipée ( barbecue, wifi, transat, machine à laver etc etc) a proximité des commodités ( restaurant, churasqueira, supérette...). Par contre climat trÚs variable car a proximité de sintra et de la mer... entre 8 et 10 degrés de moins qu a lisbonne... donc eau de piscine froide et 20 degrés le soir max...

We had a wonderful time at this place. Its a well appointed house in a quiet little town. Great pool, kitchen and space. Excellent for a couple of families with kids.

It was a nice property that suited our needs as a family of seven perfectly.

Our biggest disappointment was on our arrival we had no means of lighting the gas hob as no lighter or matches available. Also we had no water for over 24 hours. With 3 small children and no means of cooking , washing or flushing the toilet it was a dissapointment. We had to eat out. I thought some compensation should have been offered for this great inconvenience

Why they chose this property

The villa is situated 9 km from Sintra, and 25 km from the cosmopolitan Cascais, with its marina, entertainment, shopping, beaches, restaurants, coffee shops, delightful terraces by the sea, not to mention the buzz of a very active nightlife. Estoril, that has the biggest casino in Europe, is only 27 km away. Lisbon, the capital with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, monuments, restaurants and Fado, is only 40 min. away. Guincho, with its surrounding natural park is highly recommended for beach & sport holidays. But along the coast the choice of other beaches is endless. Guincho is famous for water sport activities, white sandy family beaches, all within a 20 min drive. The bus stop is just 1 Km away from the villa (connecting to Sintra and Cascais) and the railway station is 9 km away.

For golfers, there are 6 golf courses, 30 minutes away:
1) Quinta da Marinha
Set amongst beautiful pine trees and stretching down to Guincho beach, it has some of the most majestic sceneries in Portugal. Its hole number 13, a Par 4 descending to the sea, is a picture postcard of Portuguese golf.
2) Oitavos
It's the 1st Golf Course in Europe and the 2nd in the World to become a Certified Signature Sanctuary - Gold.
3) Penha Longa
Enjoys championship characteristics, an excellent level of maintenance and beautiful panoramic views over the Sintra mountain range.
4) Estoril
One of the oldest and best-known golf courses in Portugal. Many champions - including Max Faulkner and Seve Ballesteros - have walked the fairways of this course.
5) Quinta da Beloura
Fine views over the Sintra mountain range and a course surrounded by trees provide a very pleasurable game of golf.
6) Belas
Designed by Rocky Roquemore. Its eighteen holes extend over 6,128 metres for a Par 72.
