Villa Fumone is located in the backlands behind Portimão - more precisely near the settlement of Alcalar, between Penina Championship and Morgado Golf Course - offering 260sqm of living space on one floor. The large lush garden offers privacy and is orientaded Westward. The 5 x 10 m overflow pool is a great place to cool off and the large, covered terracotta terrace welcomes you for al-fesco dining. The property is fenced in and safe for children to play. A large master bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom, a smaller double bedroom with private bathroom and two twin bedrooms sharing a bathroom in the middle offer sufficient space for a larger family or a group of friends. The living and dining room measures 80 sqm and all windows face Westward. A great fireplace with surrounding sitting area will offer you a cozy place when staying in winter or a cooler evening. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a table where breakfast can be taken - should the weather once not be to your expectation. From both the living room, the kitchen as well as the master bedroom, french sliding doors lead out to the terracotta terrace.

Great place to stay

We had some amazing days in this villa, the outside space was fantastic, the pool was very big and we thank very much to Peter and Barbara for letting us take our dog who was as happy as the rest of the family.

Terrific vacation house in Algarve - one of the best stays I had until now.

Amazing property, with a very welcoming environment and large and beautiful garden. Generous swimming pool with an outside shower.Very well equipped kitchen (I found everything I needed and more), fridge and a separate big freezer.Great rooms with beds for 8 people and the best mattress I've seen in a vacation house up to now.The location is excellent to those seeking some relaxing and reenergizing days, 10-15 minutes aways from the city of Portimão or the beaches of Alvor, but in a green and calm area.As a plus, free Internet access (using the house router), a big and cozy living room, and the main bedroom is big as a studio.Will definitively repeat my stay in this place!

Didn't want to leave that pool!!

A perfect spot for our family get together in the sunshine. The pool was absolutely perfect - super clean, and just the right temperature for hot days - lovely. Lots of sun loungers and outdoor furniture too, so you could move from sun to shade as you fancied. A real plus is that the house stays cool in the heat. Kitchen is well equipped. We have never met a more responsive owner - there were a couple of minor issues and Peter responded to my emails instantly and courteously, immediately sorting things out. A good base for our vacation.

Fantastic, beautiful Villa

Peter, the Villa owner was excellent to communicate with. Suzel the lovely lady who greeted us at the Villa was so friendly and we felt immediately at home. The Villa is perfect, very well laid out with pool, garden, kitchen, dinning area outside and living area all in view of each other and felt like a very spacious and sociable villa. The pool is fantastic, very big and kept clean presumably due to the infinity design. The gardens are beautiful and kitchen is very well equipped, with plenty of cutlery and crockery. I would say the only one small downside is no air-con, so the smallest bedroom did get quite hot during the night, but the 3 other bedrooms are a good size, so not so much of an issue. We would definitely recommend this Villa, one of the best we have stayed in and very beautiful to relax in. We hope to return soon. Many thanks Peter for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Fanstastisch

Das Haus ist fantastisch, super ausgestattet und perfekt aufgeteilt, insbesondere wenn man mit 2 Familien reist. Das sehr gepflegte Grundstück ist komplett eingefasst, so dass man die Kinder entspannt mit Blick auf den Pool laufen lassen konnte. Es war für uns der perfekte Ort, um als Familie Zeit miteinander zu verbringen.Der Strand im nahegelegene Alvor ist sehr schön. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Un beau séjour

La maison est fidèle aux photographies, l’accueil très sympathique, Peter, l’hôte est à l’écoute et nous a conseillé des restaurants ; ainsi que fait remettre un panier garnis à notre arrivée. Le seul bémol reste l’absence de climatisation, que nous avons largement compensé par l’utilisation des nombreux ventilateurs mis à disposition et la piscine!

Bonjour Virginie Merci pour vos sympathiques lignes et encore une fois pour avoir passé vos vacances en famille chez moi à Serra e Mar, dans les alentours de Portimão. La climatisation - c'est vrai, il y a des jours ou cela serait "pratique"/confortable - mais il y a également à prendre en considération les coûts de l'électricité (qui a doublé au Portugal en peu de temps) - qui rendrait impossible de maintenir le coût actuel de la location. La maison étant bien construite et isolée, des sols en terra cotta & marbre, la possibilité de pouvoir fermer des volets pendant la journée aident à l'imiter l'effet de la chaleur. En plus, le plus souvent, en Algarve le soir / nuit (Atlantique) il fait plutôt "frais" (à la différence des pays qui se trouvent sur la Méditerranée). J'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir de pouvoir vous accueillir chez moi et la porte reste ouverte si un jour vous songez y retourner. Milles mercis ! Cordiales salutations, Peter

Ein Ort der Erholung

Wer nicht unbedingt direkte Strandlage haben möchte, wird in diesem Ferienhaus alles finden was er braucht. Ein traumhaft schöner, nicht einsehbarer Garten. Ein großer Pool und ein geräumiges Haus, gut geeignet für zwei Familien mit Kindern. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und die Betreuung hervorragend.

Ein Traum

Ein traumhaftes Haus, liebevoll und hochwertig eingerichtet, in der Küche mangelte es an nix. Von allen Zimmern gelangt man in den üppig blühenden Garten. Diverse Sitzmöglichkeiten, Liegen mit gepolsterten Auflagen, ein toller Grill und ... natürlich ein wunderschöner Pool !!! Sehr netter Kontakt mit dem Vermieter Peter und Suzel dem guten Hausgeist !

maison familliale idéale

Maison très bien équipée (electroménager, vaisselles...), très agréable, la piscine est plus grande que le rendu photo sur l'annonce. Quartier calme 15 minutes de la mer en voiture, 10 minutes de tout commerce. Semaine au top. Manquerait juste peut être une machine à laver sinon tout etait parfait.

Merci d'avoir réservé ma maison pour votre séjour - et oui, la distance aussi envers le Circuit de Portimao est idéal pour qui travaille sur le Circuit de Portimao. La maison dispose d'une machine à laver + tumbler - mais comme elle se trouve dans le garage ou je tiens des affaires personnelles, l'accès est limité mais... la prochaine fois ou dans des cas spéciaux (par exemple long séjours) je permets naturellement l'accès. Perfect escape

Very spacious comfortable villa with well equipped kitchen and excellent pool set in grassy garden with trees and plants. There are plenty of outside areas, shady or otherwise and it all made for a very relaxed holiday, despite Covid. Suzel was a delight and very helpful.

Quality of life

We looked for a property that could give us some quality time, while relaxing with all the family. We found that at Bárbara and Peter John house this summer. The house has amazing areas, both inside and outside and we had the most out of it. The only issues I could point out as a recommendation, not as criticism is the fact that TV and internet option could be more advanced, as we had some connection problems during our stay, and also since we got some very warm weather, the house can become quite hot inside, and the existing fans in the house are not sufficient to cope with it. An AC in the rooms would be mandatory for a house like this. Anything else was amazing!

Dear Miguel Thank you for the kind note. As mentioned, 2020 as well as the past year have been extremely hard (for me, working in the hotel business). I am at home for a break now and take time to quickly say "Thank you" for your note. I am happy, you spent a good time with your family in the Algarve. TV could be considered a "project", you are right. The airconditioning - I have been debating for a long time. As you can guess, I am not a huge adept of the airconditioning. But, I invested in a new heating (solar + heatpump) two years ago and the heatpump installed could be used to produce cold (inverted). I am certainly considering this. Muito obrigado mais uma vez. Really lovely Villa. very large inside. fantastically equipped kitchen with an excellent BBQ out side. Rooms all very nice and pleasant. Bathrooms huge and spacious. Villa manager on site very helpful. Owner very helpful too. A great local store and bar run by very friendly and helpful lady. local restaurants very good. if I could mention one thing the bore pump for water is quite noisy but we would stay here again in fact we are looking at dates for next year. Très belle maison au calme avec grande piscine et jardins

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la maison qui est située dans un quartier résidentiel calme à 20 minutes d’Alvor et de ses belles plages. Il y a des lits pour 8 personnes (4 chambres à coucher dont 3 avec salle de bains). Il y a un garage pour une voiture (pas trop grande), beaucoup de verdure (grand jardin avec gazon bien taillé) et une magnifique piscine à débordement. Tout fonctionnait parfaitement et l'équipement était plus que complet (vaisselle, etc.) ! La terrasse était très agréable. Nous avons seulement regretté le grill à gaz plutôt qu’un vrai barbecue..

An Excellent Holiday in a Beautiful, Well Equipped Villa

This lovely traditional villa with a beautiful pool and gardens which is not overlooked is on an established development of high quality villas just a few minutes drive from Alvor. Booking was easy and Peter John answered all our questions promptly. We stayed for a week in June, a total of seven members of the family, ranging from 82 years old to 4 years old. We were met by Suzel, who only lives a short distance away. She showed us around the villa and was available if required to answer questions and help out if needed throughout our stay. Inside, the villa was well decorated and very clean. It was well furnished, everything worked. The kitchen/diner was well equipped with appliances and crockery etc. The main bedroom was large and airy with plenty of wardrobe space and a large bathroom/shower room ensuite. The living room was spacious and provided different seating areas. The covered outside area which included a large dining table was excellent for shade whilst having a good view of the garden and swimming pool. The villa and its gardens are surrounding by fencing and there is an electric gate on entry to the drive. Whilst it is an easy drive to Alvor, Portimao and Lagos there are a couple of good restaurants within a very short distance, Fonte de Pedra and Solar de Farelo. A lovely holiday in a lovely villa for an excellent price. We would certainly stay there again.

toller Urlaub

Wir haben eine traumhafte Woche in der Villa Fumone verbracht. Das Haus ist toll ausgestattet, die Haushälterin sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen kleine Wohnsiedlung. Wir machten viele Ausflüge ins nahe liegende Monchique Gebirge und am Meer ( Portimoe ). Auf unseren nächsten Besuch freuen wir uns schon.

I am a Swiss national and spent 7 years of my life working and living in Portugal - Madeira Island and the Algarve. My three children are born in this beautiful country - the youngest one in Alvor/Portimão. I currently live in Southern Austria but have kept the wonderful years we were able to spend in Portugal in my heart and regularly visit the Algarve.

Why they chose this property

The property was virtually the plot next to the house we had originally rented for the time we were working in the Algarve - but the house was abandoned and the weeds growing 2 meters high. The home had no pool and was badly taken care of. When buying it, we thought it would be a great opportunity for us to return "home" once a while as well as for our children to keep some link with their home country. The property has a nice size plot of land, is facing West (the small street passing behind the home - quiet) and built on one floor. With the addition of the good size (10 x 5 meters) deck level overflow pool, the home has become a great place to spend a few days of relaxation for the whole family. If you wish to have privacy and peace - stay in the home. Whatever else you need can be found within 10 to 20 minutes drive by car - shopping, restaurants, entertainment, beaches, golf etc.

What makes this property unique

Villa Fumone is built on one floor and oriented West with a large al fesco terrace - for great evening sun. Villa Fumone is located in "Serra e Mar" - a development started in the 1960's and today very green, secluded and with high trees / vegetation - yet close to Portimão, the beaches and over 10 golf courses.
