Summer sun

A comfortable gite albeit rather peculiar in that it has been created from a bread oven, which makes the layout rather odd (access to toilet down steep stairs from bedroom).A sign at the driveway would be a good idea.We found that the oven didn’t work so needs some attention.Pool is a godsend and the interior lounge seating very comfortable.The air conditioning in the bedroom was much appreciated.We had an enjoyable stay.

Lovely country cottage

A converted farm building, this is a lovely cottage with plenty of character. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The outdoor patio and pool were also great and the pool closed completely so we felt it was nice and safe for our three year old. The cottage was slightly north of Coux et Bigaroque in Les Valades.

We had a lovely stay at the end of the summer holidays. Francis met us at the property, even though we arrived quite late, and made sure that we knew where everything was and that we were happy. The gîte is lovely, it was clean and while not the most modern it had everything you need. The layout is unique, you walk in off the terrace into the kitchen/diner which has a double height ceiling. The bathroom and toilet are also at this level. There is a small area with a desk up a couple of shallow steps (I think this used to be the actual bread oven?), then round up another few steps there is the living room and the twin bedroom. The double bedroom is up on a mezzanine floor with the stairs to this coming down into the living room. The air conditioning unit is at the top level, but as there is no extra door to the double bedroom it also cools down the rest of the property if needed. The pool is great, and the property is in a lovely quiet spot. You definitely need a car to get around, but there are plenty of facilities within a short drive including several supermarkets and then all of the attractions of the area are within easy reach. We really enjoyed and would recommend for somewhere quiet and relaxed to stay in this lovely area.

parfait pour découvrir le Périgord noir

Nous avons passé un bon séjour chez Francis. La maison très jolie est située dans un hameau très calme avec une belle vue et au centre des vallées de la Dordogne et de la Vézère idéal pour les visites. Un gros point positif: le gite est parfait pour les animaux (et les enfants bien sûr) beaucoup d'espace et aucune voitures .

Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt

Ein Haus, das genau am richtigen Ort liegt: umringt von zahlreichen Ausflugszielen an Dordogne und Vézère, interessante Sehenswürdigkeiten, die alle nur einen Steinwurf entfernt liegen. Das Haus hat Geschichte und ist zugleich wunderbar renoviert und eingerichtet. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und offen. Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt.

La maison est vraiment belle et très bien équipée.Il ne manque absolument rien pour un séjour agréable. L'environnement est calme et paisible, la vue de la terrasse est magnifique. Au calme, à part le son des cloches des vaches qui peuvent nous rendre visite. Magnifique vue sur la campagne périgourdine à perte de vue. Piscine très agréable et très bien entretenue. Logement parfaitement équipé, propre et confortable. ( de la vaisselle plus qu’il n’en faut) La présence de climatisation est un vrai plus pour la chambre située sous les toits. Propriétaires très chaleureux et serviables. Pour les citadins que nous sommes nous avons apprécié ce lieux idéal pour le repos, les randonnées à pied ou à vélo. (Attention l’escalier d’accès à la chambre est assez raide et présence de marches en intérieur) Nous reviendrions probablement.

Au calme dans un superbe région

Ce petit gîte situé dans un village au calme etait parfait pour déconnecter du quotidien et passer un moment privilégié avec nos deux enfants. La piscine est un vrai plus, idéalement positionnée sur la terrasse et sécurisé par un dome. La région est très belle et nous n'avons pas manqué d'activité pendant notre séjour.
