This truly fabulous home is situated on Bog Road and crosses the famous Roundstone Bog conservation area.



This is a fisherman's haven, a family-friendly, golfers-perfect getaway.



This stunning home offers panoramic views of The Twelve Bens mountain range and is located 3 miles from Clifden 'the capital of Connemara'. It has been finished to a very high standard providing comfortable spacious living with all mod cons including a games room for those rainy days. Walkers and nature lovers alike are well catered for and a trip on the famous Sky Road is simply a must. With the beach within easy reach, and so much to do, you'll have trouble deciding what you want to see first!



This is the perfect choice for a family or even a group of friends to stay. With so much to do both on and off-site, you are sure to fall in love with this part of County Galway. Whether your preference is for walking, fishing or golfing, they are all within easy reach, with brown trout fishing on your doorstep and the Ballinahinch River which is famous for salmon fishing within a 15-minute drive away. If golf is your game then you could be teeing off within 20 minutes at the Connemara golf club.



There is a games room with a mini pool table, table soccer, air hockey, jukebox, TV, DVD and PlayStation 2.

Fantastic room for kids - they will just love this den.  Large TV with PlayStation 2, 2 comfy bean bag stools, mini pool table, table soccer/air hockey & jukebox.  Great place for kids on a rainy day.



Utilities, linen & towels are included in the rental rate.



Check-in time is from 5 pm onwards (If you require a later check-in time please let us know)



During peak season changeover days are Saturdays



Strictly No Pets allowed as the owner is highly allergic and cannot accept for this reason.

Wonderful quiet location in Cliften Area

Great holiday in Connemara

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in White Thorn House near Clifden. The landscape around the house is absolutely stunning and we could visit lots of fantastic places. The house is well equipped with everything we needed. We could definitely consider coming back and staying in White Thorn House again. Therefore we can absolutely recommend it.

Clean, spacious and comfortable

We recently spent a week in White Thorn and found it to be very clean and with a very well equipped kitchen. The owner was very responsive to anything we needed help with. It is a great house for families with plenty of space - I would definitely book again.

A great house to rent

Whitethorn was a very comfortable and well equipped house. Martin was an excellent host and his house was spotless. Loads of space Very happy with it and I would highly recommend it. Great location for cycling & walking and to explore Connemara. We will definitely return to Whithorn.

Perfect!

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house in the Clifden area. We were a group of 4 adults and 3 children and had plenty of space to relax and enjoy our break away. House has every amenity you could think of and was absolutely spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend Whitethorn House and would love to stay again.

Great stay

We stayed for a week in this beautiful well Equipped house. It was very peaceful , close to Clifden and had everything we could need. The house itself I’ve very spacious and has all the normal household items a family could need. The place was spotless with great consideration given to safety measures around cv19. WIFI reception was also very good. Both Connemara Lettings and the house owner were very helpful at every step. We really enjoyed our stay visiting all the local beaches, lakes , sights. The local Information brochures and information folder in the house were very useful. We look forward to returning.

Visit to Clifden to enjoy the Arts festival

The White Thorn House was easy to find on the Bog Road outside Clifden. The accommodation was excellent and it was very good having two ensuite shower rooms ! Martin had kindly left a starting supply of milk,tea and shortbread -- thanks !! We didn't have any children with us but we were all parents and agreed that the upstairs room would have been brilliant to keep children happy. It was fun watching the cows wandering around outside and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed the patio with table and chairs . We would definitely visit the White Thorn House again.

La maison est très calme sans être complètement isolée. Clifden n'est qu'à 5 mn en voiture. Idéal pour les enfants avec la salle de jeux et les principaux sites du Connemara à proximité (pas plus de 30mn en voiture). Martin nous a très bien accueilli.

Lovely House, Great Location

We had a wonderful two week stay in the White Thorn House (Four adults and one kid.) The house was spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. The games and books for kids were a great extra touch, really helped with the few times it rained. The house is totally quiet and peaceful, and in a beautiful location, close to Clifden and many local attractions. We didn't run out of things to do by any means. We also loved the neighbouring cows, and they tolerated us though we played a lot of football when they were trying to eat. We would definitely stay again! Thanks Martin!

Very happy with the week we spent at White Thorn. The house was very clean when we arrived, which was important for us, and it has great facilities - en suites, lovely kitchen, big TV, very spacious, games room for the kids. The only small issue was the DVD player upstairs was a bit hit and miss but in the big scheme of things, that was very minor.

Whitethorn house review

The house itself was lovely - clean and comfortable. We had a huge issue with the letting agent, they said that this house had WIFI and this was necessary for us, and was discussed with letting agent that it was included and available. When we arrived there was no Wifi. A Wifi dongle was eventually provided but with the provisio that ' I will not be paying for you to download movies'. We needed general Wifi access and we couldn't even get that. The property owner actually said they have never had Wifi access yet the letting agent advertises the house with this service, even now!
