We had a wonderful time at Elaine's place in Dinard. The house is fantastic, the perfect size for a multi-generational family trip!
The location is fantastic, with super easy access to the town and both beaches nearby.
Communication with Elaine was superb, she was incredibly helpful and made our stay really easy. Would definitely stay here again!

Thanks Amy - glad you enjoyed your stay. Dinard is a fabulous place, especially when the sun shines which it did for you!
You were great guests!
look forward to welcoming you back!
Overall, location was great. 2 blocks from the market, restaurants and beach, 12 minutes from St Malo. Classic Bretagne stone house with most amenities anyone would need. Owner is responsive and communicates well.
We had a wonderfull in this charming house with 10 family members. The layout was excellent (enough bathrooms, teens slept downstairs and adults upstairs :-) and it was equipped with many conveniences, including a fully stocked kitchen. The washing machine was also a big plus. Everything was well supplied (toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, spices, etc.). Within a 5-minute walk, you reach the market square, the beach, and restaurants. A beautiful, clean, and atmospheric seaside town with several beaches. Within 15 minutes by car, you’re in Saint Malo. Highly recommended! The only point for improvement would be to give the house a bit more attention in terms of maintenance: exterior paintwork, cabinets/doors (locks) that don’t close properly—but it didn’t spoil the fun!

Great guests - it was a pleasure to host them. Looked after my property and left everything clean and tidy. Would recommend to other hosts and would be very happy to welcome them back to Dinard again.
The property is in an ideal location close to the beach and the lovely market and shops . Care must be taken with small children due to steep steps but Elaine highlights this in her property description. The top of the house has new bathrooms but the ground floor is dated and clearly awaiting renovation. Our family had a wonderful time and would stay there again.

About the host
Hosted by Elaine Johnson
My father first visited Dinard when he was 10. As an only one, he was pleased to get involved in a football match happening on the beach with some local boys - he never realised that that match led to lifelong friendship and a relationship with Dinard that has spanned three generations. I started going to Dinard when I was very young to visit the friends my dad made that day. In 2003 my brother moved to Brittany and soon afterwards we brought the house. We love it.
Why they chose this property
I love the location of the house. We have lovely neighbours and can walk to the beaches, bars and restaurants within ten minutes. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays the road comes to life with the market. I love sitting in the dining room, with the windows wide open listening to the people bustling down to buy their fruit and veg. I also love having the best bread shop in Dinard on the corner of Rue de Verdun and Rue de la Gare!
What makes this property unique
We bought the house from the Catholic Church - it had been used as a retreat for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to get away and feel the benefits of the sea air. Nuns lived in the house permanently and looked after the children. At that time the back garden was used for growing vegetables. The nuns visited the church you can see through the gap in the houses opposite. The furniture in the double bedroom downstairs is very special. It came from Dinard Castle, which is opposite the church. Unfortunately it is derelict now but it was originally built for a visit by Napoleon - he never came but the building became a school and my friends father was the Head Teacher. When the school closed he was able to take some of the furniture. When he moved into a smaller house the furniture would not fit and so it found its way into 38bis.
