Boutique style luxury accommodation in a converted Windmill for 2 in Woodbridge
Trickers Mill is a 5 storey Grade 2 listed Tower Windmill with its own private courtyard located in the heart of Woodbridge close to the Market Square. The ground and first floors have been converted to provide fabulous accommodation for two people. Downstairs there is an entrance hall leading to a cloakroom and then through to the open plan living area with fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, fan oven, fridge and microwave) there is a dining table and three seater sofa. A smart TV and electric woodburner too. Central heating throughout. From the entrance hall there is a circular staircase to the first floor where there is a bathroom with shower over the bath. The bedroom next door has a superking zip-linked bed. ( If you require twin beds please let us know when booking) there is a dressing table and stool an arm chair and bedside tables. From the bedroom there is a staircase and trapdoor to the upper levels where stunning views over the roof tops of Woodbridge and the river Deben can be enjoyed. This part of the windmill is a step back in time and is as it was 200 years ago. Care needs to be taken as the stairs are steep and some machinery is at head height. The mill is set in a quiet residential area. We have a small garage close to the Mill which is suitable for a small car. If you have a larger car there is roadside parking and a public car park within 100 metres. The Mill is just minutes from the Market Square where there are numerous boutique shops, bars, pubs and restaurants. A further stroll down the hill brings you to the bustling Thoroughfare with a further variety of shops, eateries and bars. Walks along the Deben river wall with views of the Tide Mill are also enchanting. There is lots to do and explore in the area. Sutton Hoo is just outside Woodbridge the Anglo Saxon Burial site. Within a short drive are Orford, Snape, Framlingham and the wonderful coast too.

Stunning, characteristic and cosy Mill 🥰
Cosy beautiful Mill, clean and fresh colours. Walking distance to shops and pubs. The Mill is stunning and we felt very welcome. Complementary milk, bread and marmalade was a lovely touch. Wish we stayed longer than 2 nights
Lovely property. Comfortable and clean. I understand that the property is old but there are a lot of drafts in the extension and around all windows/doors which made it quite cold. There is hive heating but the owners turned it down when I turned it up. Which didn’t help as I have a breathing condition affected by the cold that I could be in hospital with.

We are pleased you liked the Mill. I am just sorry you did not contact us about the heating. We did not interfere remotely with the heating. If you had called or messaged during your stay we could have sorted this straight away.
Sympathetic conversion to two storey accommodation, and the facility to climb to the top for a wonderful view. Really enjoyed our holiday in the mill, and hope to return one day.
A most beautiful place to stay and a perfect base to explore Suffolk. Very tranquil and relaxing. Very welcoming and a very well looked after property. Would love to re-visit.
What a wonderful, luxury stay at this magical tower mill, beautifully furnished, historical five story windmill, spectacular, warm, very comfortable, and helpful, friendly hosts.
Excellent accommodation for a couple. Very tastefuly decorated. All amenities you could want. Lots of information about the local area available. We thoroughly loved it. Are only quibble was we thought we would be able to get to the very top of the windmill (i.e. outside), but couldn't. Maybe we misunderstood.
This is a really interesting place to stay, close to the centre of a delightful town. The accommodation was very comfortable, well equipped and couldn’t be faulted - and being able to climb up to see the remains of the mill’s machinery was an added bonus!
Thank you, we’ll definitely return.
This is a very unique property, carefully restored and spotlessly clean. Ideal for a stay of any length. Great communication with the property owners. Perfect.
This is a very unusual and interesting property. Our journey was much longer than anticipated but we were able to contact Tessa and she gave us full instructions on how to access the property when we got there. There was a full page of information awaiting us on arrival and we found everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The climb to the top of the windmill was a little scary for someone with a fear of heights but well worth it for the views and the sense of achievement. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
The Mill was a wonderful alternative to a traditional cottage with a lovely welcome pack and all homely essentials you would expect. The WiFi even worked in the thunderstorms. The thickness of the walls in the Mill meant it was quite cool to come home to, a definite bonus as temperatures soared to over 30degrees and having a garage nearby meant we knew the car was safe and secure. The town of Woodbridge also has everything you could want and being able to walk to all amenities; shop, pubs, restaurants etc made a nice change. The coastal area has lots to offer and we made the most of it seeing Southwold and Aldeburgh and a quick visit to Orford. Inland, Lavenham definitely worth a look and Colchester is within easy access also Bury St Edmunds which is great for shopping. Hope to visit again in the future.
Spotlessly clean, well equipped property full or converted windmill charm and amazing views if you climb to the top!
Woodbridge is a quaint village with an abundance of local pubs and small shops. An easy walk down to the river and then you can walk the river bank as far as you want to. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Windmill in Woodbridge again.

Trickers Mill
My wife and I stayed at the Trickers Mill in Woodbridge at the end of March 2019 and we were very impressed with the property and Woodbridge as a place to visit and spend time. The Mill was a surprise for my wife's birthday and she was blown away with the accommodation. A very clever and thoughtful conversion, to a high standard throughout. Tessa added little touches such as home made marmalade and milk in fridge which made a stay more special. We will be coming back to stay very soon. David and Gillian

Quirky but homely and very comfortable
We wanted a couple of days peace and quiet over Christmas, and this is exactly what we got, a lovely welcome pack of bread and homemade marmalade with a pint of milk in the fridge was a pleasant extra. The mill is beautifully decorated with everything you need (would have been useful to have a second oven glove though!😊) to enjoy a break away. Woodbridge is a lovely town, with a good range of friendly pubs, all within walking distance. I wish we had more time to explore. Thank you Tessa for making it a success
