BUFFALO MOON-Artist's Home with a Stargazing Deck, Hot Tub, Views

This beautiful home is in the desirable area of Blueberry Hill, ideally situated between Taos Ski Valley and Taos Plaza and the lovely little artists village of Arroyo Seco. It is also close to the stunning Rio Grande Gorge. Some of the best restaurants you will ever dine in are in Taos (from hamburgers at Five Star Burgers, Wine and cheeses at pärCht in the Plaza, to Medely, Sobroso, The Love Apple and Lambert's just to name a few)! Top quality galleries abound here too! Actually, the shopping in Taos and Arroyo Seco is excellent as well as lots of fun! Fishing, mountain climbing, hiking and mountain biking are fabulous AND it goes without saying that the skiing is top notch!
Our house is truly your HOME away from home. It is appointed with many of our collected Indian artifacts and original art from across the country that recall the craftsmanship of days gone by. We want to to feel that you are at your home. It is ready for you to relax and enjoy.
The home has 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths as well as a screened in sunroom and a weaving studio, an easel if you are interested in painting! A 3 day weaving class can be arranged for you if you are interested. Let me know. There are classes in Arroyo Seco too. Take a class and take home an amazing weaving!
A fully stocked kitchen is perfect for those who WANT to cook and a dishwasher for those that do NOT want to hand wash those dishes! There are beautiful rugs and incredible artwork all over the home as well as Native Indian artifacts that we have collected over the years. Bold, beautiful viga ceilings are seen throughout the house. DirecTV is the cable provider. Pay Per View is available for an additional fee. Three 42 inch flat screen televisions are in the 3 bedrooms and a 55 inch television is in the TV room. Internet service is also provided (if you happen to get tired of all that outdoor fun!).
There are lots of kid friendly movies for their entertainment as well as sleds, board games and toys.
In the spring/summer months you might enjoy outdoor cooking on the grill. Spend time relaxing in the hot tub ANY time of the year. In the warm months, climb the stairs to the OBSERVATION DECK and watch falling stars. There is furniture up there to watch the wonders of the universe (and we do have a telescope in the chest in the dining area. The cushions are stored in a chest up there as they tend to blow about a bit as the winds come up in the early evening from time to time.
There are two carports, 4 different patio areas, a wonderful garden full of fresh veggies for your enjoyment and the property around the house is fenced and gated.
You might want to bring some canvas and paints also because we have an easel in the weaving studio that could easily be moved to the patio in the front of the studio if you wanted to paint outside. It is just absolutely a wonderful, tranquil and yet energizing vacation spot.

Great house for a family

Wonderful location outside of Taos. Large house perfect for a family. Rooftop deck was our favorite spot for sunsets and stargazing. House was well appointed with all the amenities, appliances and kitchen tools needed. Beds were very comfy.

Fabulous Buffalo Moon Getaway

Beautiful views

We had a wonderful trip on our honeymoon! The views of the mountains were absolutely unbelievable and the night starry skies were unparalleled. We enjoyed local restaurants and also the fully equipped kitchen the house has for food. The hot tub and fire pits were so much fun!

Perfect retreat

This wonderful house is one of the best places I've ever rented! It is amazingly well-stocked and very comfortable. The outdoor gardens are lovely and the neighborhood is great for walks. Marcia is great to work with and we hope to return. P.S. the beds are very comfy.

Gorgeous Home, Unsurpassed Mountain and Night Sky Views

My family enjoyed a wonderful get-away to Toas in this beautifully decorated home. It exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed soaking in the Hot Tub, gazing at the stars from the upper deck, and gathering in the thoughtful spaces throughout the property. We will definitely come back for another visit.

Wonderful home and location

We have stayed here several times and always enjoy our visits. The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable and conveniently located. The kitchen is well stocked. The yard has lots of nice plants and several seating areas. Marcia the owner is so pleasant to work with and responds to any inquiries very quickly. Beautiful setting just north of Taos

Thanks to Marcia for allowing us to spend a few nights at her gorgeous home in El Prado. Great location, and beautiful views of Taos Mountain and the Mesa. Well-appointed and tastefully decorated, this 3 BR, 3 BA home had everything we needed. Some trouble getting the check-in instructions before arrival, but as soon as I emailed Marcia, she got right back to me.

Spacious, Comfortable, and Clean

Loved the separate bedrooms at either end of the home so we all had space to ourselves and still had space in the middle for visiting. Hot tub was very soothing. Loved the viewing deck for sunrise, sunset, and star gazing. Dark skies there are amazing! Had a wonderful hot air balloon ride with Rio Grande Balloons flying down the Rio Grande River Gorge and toasting at the bridge afterwards.

Currently we split out time between the Taos area and Nacogdoches, Texas but as we are both from West Texas, we have always loved the New Mexico mountain areas with the beautiful sunsets and BIG SKIES! As a young child from Amarillo, TX. my family came to the Taos area many times each summer. My husband is from Levelland and his family came to this area for years to go fishing and camping. We have been coming here since our children were small and for 6 years before we found this property, we had seriously been looking for a house here. We found this wonderful spot and are happy to share it with you.

Why they chose this property

This house really spoke to us. As an artist myself, I was immediately taken by the mosaic work done by the previous owner in the tile floors and on the Koi pond. I had been looking for a home with a studio as I am a potter. Well, we found one.....BUT pottery will have to be done outside or in the storeroom because I also purchased a gigantic loom and it is in the studio. There are weaving classes in the area If you are interested in learning and I have a couple of looms for sale also. If you are of an artistic persuasion....then you will be very comfortable here! There is also and easel if you come for an artist's escape. The neighbors here are fantastic too. Artists, musicians, snowmobile tour operators, and other very interesting folks.

What makes this property unique

We love the neighborhood because it is close to both Taos and to the Ski Valley and to one of our FAVORITE little artist's community of Arroyo Seco. It is also close to the Rio Grande Gorge and great fishing, mountain biking and hiking and just whatever else might tickle your fancy. We love the peaceful setting where we can just enjoy the mountain sunrises and sunsets. We also love the fact that there are great day trips to Red River and Angel Fire (but Taos is the best!).
