A great property with a nice garden to relax in. Charlotte is a lovely, helpful host who was on hand to assist and answer questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Volnay!

What a LOVELY stay!

Please excuse me writing in English! What a beautiful place to stay. The gite is itself is a handsome building, pleasantly decorated, with everything you need for a self-catering stay. It's quite large, with a charming garden in which to relax, and with a lovely vineyard view from one of the bedrooms! Volnay is a beautiful, tranquil village, and the gite is in the heart of it - perfect for those looking for a quiet retreat in a beautiful region of France, and as a base for wine lovers (as I did with a friend of mine)! Charlotte and her family were very helpful - nothing was too much trouble - and we enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting with Charlotte's husband. Very highly recommended.

Notre sĂ©jour Ă  Volnay Nous avons passĂ© un excellent sĂ©jour Ă  Volnay, une trĂšs belle commune, Ă  proximitĂ© de la magnifique ville de Beaune et de son cĂ©lĂšbre hospice.Nous Ă©tions un petit groupe de 7 personnes et avons Ă©tĂ© ravis de notre hĂ©bergement au gĂźte de Charlotte.Le logement est trĂšs agrĂ©able, confortable et parfaitement propre. Charlotte nous a Ă©galement fait profiter d’une superbe visite de sa propriĂ©tĂ© viticole, avec dĂ©gustation d’excellents crus de Bourgogne — un moment Ă  la fois convivial et chaleureux que nous garderons en mĂ©moire.C’est sans hĂ©siter que nous reviendrons si l’occasion se prĂ©sente.Merci encore Ă  Charlotte pour son accueil et sa gentillesse !

Lovely house and lovely host

House is beautiful. Host is helpful and kind. Wine cellar is right next door for you to enjoy a beautiful tasting. Wifi is slow and unreliable. However, you should be visiting here to disconnect, not to work.

Leuk huisje , maar minder tijdens een hittegolf

Leuk vakantie huisje , inventaris prima , netjes . Vriendelijke ontvangst. Wij waren er tijdens een hittegolf. Huisje en tuin niet bepaald hitteproef. Temperatuur op slaapkamers erg hoog ondanks dichthouden van ramen en luiken overdag en s nachts ventileren. Tuin is ingebouwd en veel steen/kiezels waardoor het snel opwarmt. Tweede verdieping en wc beneden niet geschikt voor lange mensen.

Une semaine agreable a Beaune

Tres bonne vacances avec de nombreux sujets de distractions (velo, baignade, tennis etc..) et region culturellement et gastronomiquement tres riche. Gite agreable et tres bien situe. Petit bemol :au 2 eme etage par temps tres chaud, mettre une clim ou refaire l isolation. Pour les chambres du 1er pas besoin de clim.

Grosses Haus in schöner Lage

Wir (Ehepaar mit zwei 18jĂ€hrigen Teenagern) haben im Oktober eine Woche im Haus von Charlotte verbringen dĂŒrfen. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus ist genĂŒgend gross fĂŒr 5 bis 6 Personen und schlicht aber wohnlich ausgestattet. Es ist fast alles vorhanden, was man fĂŒr den Aufenthalt braucht (das Equipment, was uns persönlich zum Kochen fehlte, haben wir gekauft und im Haus gelassen :-)) HandtĂŒcher stehen ausreichend zur VerfĂŒgung und die Betten waren frisch bezogen. Der Check-In war problemlos, die SchlĂŒsselĂŒbergabe lief sozusagen kontaktlos. Charlotte kam im Laufe des Tages sogar noch zu uns um uns herzlich zu begrĂŒssen, was uns sehr gefreut hat, sie persönlich kennen zu lernen. Am Abend unserer Ankunft durften wir dann sogar schon zur Weinprobe im angrenzenden Weingut. Was fĂŒr wunderbare Weine, von denen wir einigen mit nach Hause nahmen. Wir haben uns in der Woche sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Volnay ist erstens ein hĂŒbsches Dorf und zweitens ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt fĂŒr AusflĂŒge in die Umgebung (Beaune, Dijon und die anderen Weinorte) und man ist ebenfalls sofort in der Natur fĂŒr ausgedehnte SpaziergĂ€nge und sonstige AktivitĂ€ten. Wir kommen gern wieder, vor allem im goldenen Oktober.

Lovely break

We had a lovely break in this house in Volnay. Whilst there are no shops in Volnay itself, the location in amongst vineyards is beautiful and it is only about 15min walk to Pommard, where there is a good boulangerie and some nice restaurants. Mersault is also close by and is a great little village with more shops including a small supermarket and a lovely bar 'The Place'. Beaune is also close by for bigger supermarkets as well as being a great town to explore. The house is comfortable with lovely outdoor space. Good wifi, too and a lovely bottle of wine left by Charlotte from their own vineyards, which was a nice treat. We had a great wine tasting experience with Charlotte's mother in law, which was really informative and interesting. There were six of us staying most of the time - mostly adults - and although it can fit 8 people in, I think that would be a bit of a squeeze! However it suited our needs well and we were grateful for the break.

Why they chose this property

The Buffet family, winemakers in the village of Volnay from generation to generation since the end of the 18th century, proudly continues to pass on their savoir-faire for wine-making. This house, which I have recently converted into a rental home, has been part of the wine-making domaine (www.bourgogne-buffet.com) since its creation and used to be home to the vineyard field workers. Originally from Paris, Burgundy has been my home ever since marrying a Burgundian. Over the years I have learned to understand and appreciate the delicate and fine wines of the region, the incredible "terroir", and the rich history of Beaune and the Dukes of Burgundy.
