About this property

Charming craftsman home on 1.1 acres close to town and beautiful beaches

This is a 20 year old custom built home that has the homey architectural feel of the Craftsman style. There are brand-new wood tile floors throughout the main living area and brand new carpet in all bedrooms and upstairs. The two bedrooms upstairs have beautifully lofted ceilings for an open feel. There are plenty of windows so it is light and airy inside.
Our home is located about 1 mile southeast of the Hwy 1 and Hwy 20 intersection. This location makes it easy to drive to Ft. Bragg for shopping, beaches and activities if you head north and to Casper, Cabrillo lighthouse and the Village of Mendocino if you turn south.
The house has a spacious kitchen and nice open floor plan with a large private patio and BBQ. The patio has plenty of outdoor seating and a table for outdoor dining. The backyard is great for exploring!! The front porch has seating also and is a great place to catch the morning sun.
The bedrooms and bathrooms have quality bedding, comforters and towels. We can handle 2-4 more quests ( prefer them to be children) than the 3 beds accommodate - on air mattresses. You must supply the air mattress although there are extra linens for your use (Queen and Twin). Our garage is a private space and is unavailable for use. Home has washer/ dryer and dishwasher. TV/DVD/VCR available, WiFi and a Radio and CD player.Pets are welcome but with consideration of not pet guests we ask that pets stay off of furniture and beds
The property is 1.1 acres and fenced (although not to keep a pet in line) It is large and flat with seasonal lawn on 2 sides and a natural area in the back - great for kids to run around.
Unfortunately our fireplace is not working at this time
The two upstairs bathrooms have large soak tubs.
Please be aware that next door to us is a home based business that makes crab pots and fishing nets. It is not a noisy business but there is a bit of auto traffic going to their property

Location is great! Close enough to everything, but in a quiet court. At night, the star watching is fantastic. The house is very spacious with a lovely layout, allowing larger parties to have both communal and separate spaces.

House was clean, cozy, spacious, and supplied with all the necessary essentials. The location was excellent, as it was just off the coastal highway between Fort Bragg and Mendocino. There are several beaches within a few minutes drive as well as shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Communication with Mara was excellent. We would love to return for another stay!

Wonderful getaway with all the comforts of home

We spent 3 nights at this peaceful oasis just minutes from the botanical gardens and multiple beaches. All 4 generations enjoyed ourselves immensely! It was a mini family reunion to be remembered and this home was perfect. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of room for everybody to relax and rejuvenate. We highly recommend this property for families with children and even the elderly. My 83 year old mom had a blast and enjoyed the downstairs bedroom and bathroom.

Beautiful place and close to the town

Mara has a beautiful place with a well equipped kitchen and a big backyard. The house is very close to the main street in Fort Bragg and yet it is peaceful and very serene. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to future travelers

This beautiful and comfortable home has everything you need for the perfect vacation.

The house had nice beds, linens, towels. The kitchen was well-equipped and we enjoyed the back yard patio. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, yet conveniently located near town.

Lovely Property

Three couples, all senior citizens, came to enjoy the area and visit family. It is the perfect location, private, roomy , lovely outdoor area. The home is well appointed with all the kitchen and bath items, laundry room and parking.

Growing up in the central valley town of Davis, a trip to the ocean was a special treat. My Mother loved the beach so we spent many a weekend at different locations. We played - she read. As a kid I never understood how whe could sit and read while we ran around. Lets just say I do now! Upon finishing college I moved to the inland town of Willits, where I raised my children and have now been living there for 37 years.

Why they chose this property

My family purchased this property after our Mothers death as a place for us to gather and enjoy the Sea. With my Moms love of the ocean instilled in us it seemed appropriate to create a family space for us to share that gave us access to good seaside times. This house and property was our choice.

What makes this property unique

The minute we saw this home we knew this was the spot. We love the quiet location, large lot and asthetic look. The old fashioned theme of the home was a draw and we love all the modern ammentitis.
It is nice to be near the ocean (about 1 mile) yet still have lots of sun. We also find it handy to be so close to town (approx 1 mile) with all of its markets, stores, and restaurants.
