Amazing luxury 7 bed villa on cliff over sea with private pool, sauna and jacuzzi

Villa Almijara is an absolutely stunning villa situated on the cliff edge at the base of Punta de la Mona. Each of the 7 bedrooms has it´s own bathroom, plus there is a guest toilet. 4 of the bedrooms are downstairs on the lower level near the swimming pool and the other 3 bedrooms are on the ground floor. There is one master bedroom with double bed and en-suite and the other bedrooms can either be twins or doubles.The beautifully appointed luxury living room has large comfortable sofas around a real fire with patio doors leading out to one of the many terraces where you can relax in the sunshine, enjoy al fresco dining and take a dip in the large private pool.The kitchen has everything one could need. Two ovens, two fridge freezers, dishwasher, hob, oven, coffee machine, beer dispenser and more! Just outside the kitchen there is a large outside dining area with extendable awnings so you can either enjoy the warmth at the end of the day or escape from the hot sun!The villa also boasts a number of terraces where you can enjoy the sun or shade, including a large patio area with huge sunbeds to relax on whilst enjoying the spectacular views.The gardens are beautiful and include a large private swimming pool and separate jacuzzi. The villa has air conditioning/heating throughout, free wifi and television with Apple TV.Below the swimming pool there is a garden area which has now been renovated into a petanque pitch, putting green and sauna. There is also a table tennis table alongside the swimming pool. The swimming pool can be heated on request between October - April at a cost of €60 per day.The villa is 1km from the beginning of la Herradura beach with its array of bars, restaurants and shops.Please note that the villa comes with an allowance for electricity which if used properly, will be enough for air conditioning, pool lighting at night and all other electricity appliances. Any amounts over and above this allowance will be deducted from the security deposit.

We had an amazing two week holliday in this wonderfull villa. The place itself is a modern villa with an insane view over the sea & La Herradura and comes with just about everything you could imagine. We enjoyed al fresco dinners (many), drinks by the pool (also many) & the occasional walk to the town. Did some scuba diving (the diveschool Open Water Herradura is highly recommended), visited some beaches in the area and went to the Alhambra + Frigliana. All in all the best family vacation we've had in a very long time! Rachel is quick to reply and very helpful if needed, the housekeeper Loli came daily wich was a treat! So: if you're looking for a nice place to stay look no further ' cause it doesn't come any better than this.

A holiday like no other!

From the moment I booked to checking out on the last day, Rachel was incredibly efficient. Her local connections with the restaurant managers meant she booked great places for us to eat and all catered for our vegan party member. This was a lovely touch and made a real difference to our holiday - thank you Rachel. The villa itself is even better in person. Breathtaking is one word for it. We were a party of 12 with boys as young as 5 to adults as old as 80. The villa is big enough that you can have your own little space and not get under each others feet. There are a few different levels but the older members coped (and also coped with the hill down to the beach strip). The kitchen is fantastic to cook in as was the barbeque. The outdoor dining area is perfect with a picturesque view over the sea and when the sun sets - it is sublime. All the facilities; the sauna, putting green, jacuzzi and lush infinity pool are all brilliant. I'd highly recommend having it heated if visiting out of the summer season. Lolli the maid was utterly charming and a lovely addition to the holiday. It was also a luxury to wash our clothes and be able to dry them in the tumble dryer (less washing when we got home!). La Herradura itself is very bustling with great local produce available to buy. We visited the local fish shop, butchers and grocers. The sardines they cook fresh on the beach were also a highlight. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk down the hill (our older members took a bit longer). And the restaurants always called for our taxi's to get back home. We went kayaking and snorkelling - another highlight of the area as it is a national conservation area. The sea is incredibly clear - a divers haven. Lots of water sports companies to choose from aswell. If you're thinking of booking this villa, then do it. You will not be disappointed. It is worth every penny and you will have a holiday of a lifetime with ever lasting memories. We certainly have.

Fantastic Villa & Superb Location

We booked our holiday through Costa Tropical Villas ad they were so helpful from the start of the booking process and throughout the course of our holiday. Right from the start, they were able to respond to any queries we had very quickly and the recommendation of the local company that had minibuses/taxis available was great as it meant the 13 of us were able to get around very quickly. Not only did the local minibus company do the transfers from the airport but we also used them during our holiday for day trips. Casa Almijara is the most amazing villa, it has everything you need and more for your holiday with so many areas to dine inside and outside as well as a gorgeous infinity pool with the best views we have ever had... ever! We even had a cleaner daily which we didn't realise and initially thought we wouldn't need their services but actually it was such a treat not to have to keep cleaning up, especially in the kitchen that we quickly loved the idea! It only takes 15 mins to walk down the hill to La Herradura and although steep we all managed to walk back up it apart from one of our group who has a slight disability. We also had others in our group that would rather get a taxi than walk and every restaurant/beach bar we went to would just call a taxi for us and easily get us back to the villa - there was never any issues with transport. La Herradura is a lovely small very Spanish seaside town, there are plenty of beach bars, restaurants and enough supermarkets to do all the shopping you need. The locals were so friendly, the food great, it had a wonderful atmosphere and we all look forward to returning. We did a day trip to the Caves at Maro and then went onto Burrijana Beach for lunch and then Nerja town itself (these are all only a few minutes from each other and only 20 mins drive from our villa). The minibus stayed with us all day so we could spend as much time as we wanted in each location. There was a fantastic company offering buggy tours as well from the town which we all enjoyed. We all gave this holiday 10/10 and would recommend the villa and services of Costa Tropical Villas to anyone as the service was first class.

Casa Almijara summer 2018

I have been staying in various villas in La Herradura for the last 10 years with my family, this is the best so far. Beautifully laid out, air-conditioning that works everywhere and the balcony views from the cliff edge are stunning. It has 7 proper bedrooms, only one does not have a sea view. The walk is fine into town, two car parking and a house keeper that cleaned and made our beds every day.

This property is absolutely fantastic! So tasteful, so comfortable and situated on a cliff like 50 meters above the sea the view over the Mediterranean and the bay is absolutely stunning. Simply magic. The only problem we had was that... we didn't want to leave the place.

Nous avons vraiment apprécié cette villa avec toutes ses commodités et surtout la décoration de très bon goût et très jolie. Il ne manque vraiment rien ,plusieurs salons intérieurs et extérieurs,la vue du sauna est tout simplement magique et la cuisine ,le paradis des cuisiniers!!!!et des commis! Malheureusement ,le très fort vent était de la partie,exceptionnel pour la saison ,nous a un peu gâché notre plaisir et nous n'avons pu profiter du magnifique salon au bord de la piscine! Et cette vue.....extraordinaire!!!on ne s'en lasse pas et tout est fait pour ne pas la cacher!
