Perfect for a family

This house was absolutely perfect for our group of 6- 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 kids. It’s charming and cozy and the perfect home base for adventures in the highlands. One member of our group fell at a restaurant and spent the rest of our stay in a wheelchair. The house is very accessible and Susan was incredibly accommodating and responsive. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful Home

This may be the nicest VRBO home where we have stayed. Super clean and comfortable. The house seemed modern, but still retained the old world charm of the original building.

Charming Inverness

The Old Police House has history and quaintness paired with all the modern conveniences. We loved our stay here. It is located in a an easy on/off to a main thoroughfare which helped us see many wonderful small villages. Susan, the host, is so helpful and gracious and has a wonderful sense of humor! I would stay a month or longer if I could.

Dream Trip

We had fabulous time at the Old Police house. Location was great. Easy access to Inverness, grocery stores, and all our favorite golf courses around Inverness while enjoying being slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of town. Property manager was awesome. Property was very clean, well appointed with all basic supplies and utensils, and extremely comfortable. Would definitely recommend this property if visiting Inverness and particularly if planning to explore the many golf courses north and northeast of the city.

Excellent Accommodations & Host - Highly Recommended in Daviot (East)

The Old Police House in Daviot (East), near Inverness is a lovely property, 3 King size beds, 2 bedrooms up with a shared bathroom with tub/shower, 1 bedroom main level, 2 bathrooms with showers on main level. Salt, pepper, and cooking oil in kitchen. Dog friendly (dog bed & bowls). Very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Perfect spot to stay in the country and explore the area, lots of golf courses, trails, scenic drives. Highly recommended by these two couples in their 60s who have traveled extensively and stayed in many holiday lets. This is one of the very best in which we have stayed! Make sure that you take the Daviot (East) exit from the highway.

Comfy in Craggie

What a nice property and host! Ample amenities and well done renovation of this very interesting former Police House. Easy access to A9. Susan was so helpful during the reservation process and with suggestions for things to do in the area. We enjoyed interacting with her upon arrival and getting acquainted. The kitchen was well stocked with helpful dishes and other kitchen items! Highly recommend this property if you visit the Highlands near Inverness. Beautiful area!

The lovely Police House Daviot Inverness

Excellent stay in the newly converted police house. Every facility you would want. 3 lovely bedrooms and 3 great bathrooms. Susan the owner had thought of everything for us and our dog. Well located just off the A9 good for getting to all places and easy to find. Daviot woods close by for walking and biking. Culloden 10mins by car. Would recommend to all ages. Excellent

About the host

Host profile image
I moved to Daviot in 2006 and had a family, the boys are now 13,13,15
Living next door to the Old Police House and watching it decay and ruin we decided to save the property and bought it...Then started to renovate the house, with a holiday cottage in mind...we had a good team of builders, stonemason's and joiners. The project took 18 month to complete and is now an amazing home.

Why they chose this property

The Old Police House was in a state of Disrepair and living next door It was the prime opportunity to do something with it and turn it in to a holiday cottage.

What makes this property unique

The History of the house was fascinating as it started around 1880 as a local grocers shop then around 1945 it was auctioned to the police where the local Bobby stayed and looked after Daviot and Strathnairn. It was then used by a local housing association and was not looked after very well...Then we transformed it to how it is today.

They consistently provide great experiences for their guests
