Expansive decks offer you a chance to relax and enjoy the mountain scenery. Be sure to bring your fishing gear as there are plenty of fish to be caught just off your deck.

A cozy get away for a week-end or a week relaxing in upstate SC. This two bedroom one bath home sleeps 6 in a newly updated cabin beside the lake. Enjoy all the comforts of home while taking in the quiet beauty of the natural surroundings.

Our gift to each other

We loved the cabin. It was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the dock. Next time we come will have to be in warmer weather so that we can swim. Would definitely stay there again. Mountain Rest and Oconee County is a beautiful area and very friendly people.

Perfect Spot to Relax

This property is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Beautiful Sunsets over the water every night added to the ambiance. Clean Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook. Plenty of water craft "toys" to enjoy the lake! Property manager "owners" were very responsive!

Relaxing fishing destination

This was a great trip (4 nights) for myself and 2 other college buds to who enjoy fishing, talking old times and relaxation. We fished the lake and the nearby river and had a good time. Relaxing week at Mountain Rest Lake

The cabin had a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed swimming, a little fishing, and using the pedal boat to see the rest of the lake. The cabin was well stocked, and we were happy to use the gas grill and the chiminea. My husband and I needed a trip to a quiet mountain lake far from the city for our vacation. And that is what we got during this relaxing vacation.

Fall weekend getaway

Great cabin on a gorgeous lake. Cabin was well appointed with the usual comforts of home. Has a paddle boat, canoe, and kayaks. Plenty of fish in the lake. Very peaceful and nice area. Would absolutely go back. Wonderful tucked away spot in the mountains and on a lake. What more could you ask for?

Perfect

My wife and I went for a quick stay from Thursday - Sunday. Friday we went White water rafting in the Nantahala River. I would highly recommend the restaurant Dakota Grill, however it is only open between 5-7 PM. The tailgate and game is always great fun. The house was perfect we wish we would have had more time to stay and do some adventures.

Mountain Rested!

We had obstacles of weather, snow and rain! We still had a great time....enjoyed the snow, falls, shopping in all the neighboring towns and just resting and relaxing at the cabin where we were warm and comfortable with beautiful views! As we head home, we feel mountain rested!

Great cabin overlooking a beautiful lake!!!

What a wonderful property and a fun time for the family! Great dock and swimming lake! Lots of wonderful close hikes to waterfalls and a short drive to Walhalla for groceries and Highlands for Whiteside Mountain and a cute downtown area! The cabin was great! It offered lots of little things such as a peddle boat, a canoe, a few kayaks, rafts and so much more. Great use of space inside and out! Both beds and the sleeper sofa were very comfortable to sleep on. Extra pillows and blankets were available if needed. Lots of kitchen supplies and towels, too! Cute cabin decor and very homey! Property owner was very easy to work with and answered all of my questions before and during our stay. Very friendly!

Cozy Cabin Feel with Pristine Views

This is a wonderful getaway residence offering peaceful lakefront living and nearby access to numerous stunning parks and sites. Indoors, it's cozy, quaint, and welcoming--just what you'd expect from a lakeside property--and well-stocked with just about anything you'd need. Outdoors, it's about as perfect as a vacation spot can be, with multiple seating options offering both sun and shade. The exterior spaces and amenities could use a good spring cleaning with a power-washer, but that was likely seasonal, as we visited in late spring. But the inside was wonderfully clean and well-maintained. We were looking for a romantic long weekend away with all the trimmings--and we were not disappointed. Would definitely recommend to others.

Beautiful, quiet mountain lake proprty

What a treat! This property was so beautiful and peaceful - located in a quiet neighborhood on a beautiful mountain lake. The cabin is perfectly sized for a small family or group (we had 4). The cabin was clean inside, well maintained for being an older property, with a wall of windows overlooking the lake. Sunset was awe-inspiring! There were some messes outside from the previous renters who left the same day we arrived, but it wasn't bad and we just picked up a little. The access to laundry and lake sport amenities were both a major upgrade for us. We loved canoeing and fishing so much! Although you can't have a fire inside, the chiminea on the porch was a perfect alternative. Finally, the access to hiking and small towns to explore was great - close enough to enjoy activities but far enough removed to enjoy peace and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Peaceful. Quiet. Escape

Beautiful windows to display the lake. The weather was too cold to hang on the deck (30 minutes max in sunlight). Walking was brisk and brief. Neighbors friendly.(wave or talk). Parking for one vehicle. Decline to cabin could be a challenge for elderly ppl w cane access. Accommodations were nice. Apartment stove and frig size. Dishes and utensils were there. One frying pan which we used for everything!! Bathroom upgrade to shower. Lots of toiletries. Tv was lots of football and old westerns. We had seen a lot of waterfalls but tried again. Some were open on Thanksgiving day. Walhalla was nice to walk the street about ten minutes away. Lots of blankets to sit with. Great place to unwind! Thank you.

Wonderful home with spectacular views.

We highly recommends this beautiful, nice, comfy, and cozy home. The views were beyond spectacular. My family and I enjoyed this beautiful place so much. I appreciate the kindness of the owner Mr. Kent. He was beyond kind and caring. We will be able to be there just for Father's day weekend. We arrived one Friday late and we should check-out the Sunday at 10 am, but Mr. Kent even offered us to staying until 2pm on Sunday to enjoy the place for a little. He is a very considerate person and polite. He is one of the best and kind owners. God bless him and his sweet home. This home is so welcoming. It has 2 bedroom and one bath ( the bath was recently renovated and nice ) this home has a nice kitchen and you can find anything you will need for cooking there. I prepare our dinner on Friday and also our breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. My husband cook also, he enjoyed & loved the gas grill they have there. The owners have two kayaks and a puddle boat that you can use while you are there. My husband and kids loved that puddle boat so very much. My husband caught a few fish from the dock ( the night is the best time for fishing) This place is wonderful and I only can say good things about it. Thanks so much from a grateful family. gorgeous views of the lake

we went to celebrate our son's birthday. no fish was caught (he is 8 now, he really hoped to catch one), but beautiful memories were made. the house is made for relaxation. cushy furniture that hugs you, lots of fishing related decor. we had a good time. saw waterfalls, went on hikes..we live in south florida, so it wasa change of scenery and weloved it.
