About this property
Waterfront townhouse in heart of St Andrews directly overlooking Castle on rocks
**See important note below**.Directly overlooking the sea with panoramic views of St Andrews bay, nestled between the Castle and Cathedral, in the heart of the old town of St Andrews. Refurbished and restyled in ‘manhattan loft’ style - amazing communal lounge and dining area. Private garden. A short walk to the golf links and the world famous Old Course.
** IMPORTANT NOTE** our next door neighbour is selling their property in 2025, with planning permission for a major redevelopment of their property. We have discounted our rates to reflect this - hopefully there will be no works during your stay, we just cannot guarantee this - but we wanted to be completely open with all our guests before booking. Your stay for up to 6 adults could be great value with unbelievable views from all windows over all three beaches, the golf courses, the Castle and the Cathedral....
All photographs here are taken from the property!
thebeachhouse is an inspiring townhouse with stunning open-plan living room and kitchen/diner with elevated penthouse views over St Andrews bay.
The open plan 'manhattan loft' is our feature area - a first floor lounge and kitchen/diner which gives you elevated views from the Cathedral at the rear to the beaches and Castle out front.
We have three bedrooms (one double and two twins) which will sleep six people, three bath/shower rooms, and in addition a garden room/snug with a corner sofa
Please note, as our townhouse has an open plan middle floor, it is not possible to put stair-gates on for very young children.
From your doorstep walk around the many restaurants, cafes and bars of the bustling medieval Scottish coastal town of St Andrews. Visit the many attractions of the town, including golf courses, cycle tracks, beaches, leisure centre, parks, botanical gardens, theatre, and museums. Not to mention the distilleries and brewery!

About the host
Hosted by Fraser Simpson
We are a family from Scotland, and we feel we have created a lovely and amazing holiday home, so good that we really enjoy sharing it with others who like visiting St Andrews by the sea
Why they chose this property
We completely redesigned the property, with an open plan first floor offering elevated views over the ocean. It has an urban feel to the feature space, our 'Manhattan loft' - very contemporary and a great place to spend special time socialising with your family and friends. We don't do twee, so we like to think the rest of the house is seaside waterfront styling but with class!!
What makes this property unique
It's uniqueness really mainly evolves around the direct views over the Castle, Cathedral and beaches. You have to be there to truly appreciate it. Due to the elevated position it can feel like being on a ship when the tide is in! Which is why we fell in love with the property, and turned it into our special place...
